This was my first visit to this location because I walked by and saw their daily deals poster. I wanted their Tuesday deal of Spinach Paneer Rice Bowl for $10.99 and it happened to be Tuesday! It's a small place but had some seating. I got quick service and then loved how they packaged my paneer to go. They had the rice in a separate container and the paneer in another. It smelled so good! Came here to try the Roti after getting recommendations for food in Toronto, and it did not disappoint! It was close to our hotel, so we ordered to-go. The service was quick and easy - we chose the classic Butter Chicken roti. The food was delicious! The roti was hot and flavorful. The chicken was cooked well and was covered in an amazing sauce. It was so filling, and great for the price! They also gave us little snacks for dessert, which we appreciated. What I did have though was fairly delicious and would be something I would want to try again. I came here to do take out on a weekday afternoon and it was extremely busy. The gentleman behind the counter was so busy filling orders that I ended up waiting for nearly 10 minutes before I was even able to put an order in. It was not a big deal as I know he was busy but it was not ideal to have to wait that long to order. I ended up ordering the kale roti with lamb and Mama's curry. The roti was packed with lamb and sauce when I cut into it. The taste was very flavourful and I really enjoyed it. One thing to note however was that as I ate I found the sauce to be a bit on the salty side and I really had to get more roti to balance out the saltiness. My roti was also medium spiciness which I felt was just right. There was a nice burn in your mouth but not enough to detract from you tasting the food. In terms of service, I saw the gentleman apologizing for long waits and giving customers free drinks to compensate for a missed order so I thought it was good. The space itself is not very big and it felt a bit tight when it got busy and a lot of people were standing around waiting for their orders. I was craving a roti today. I went for a long walk and came across My Roti Place on Queen Street W (at Cameron Street) so stopped in to check it out. Apparently they have been open about ten days. I love love love rotis. Here you "build your own", choosing the roti, filler and sauce. I got a chicken roti with Superior Butter Masala (the server recommended this sauce). The chicken is white meat and it's was just meat. If you want chicken and potatoes (which I thought was standard in a roti), you have to ask ... I went with just chicken. I like butter chicken but have never it in a roti and it was a good combination. I ordered mild sauce and there was a bit of a kick to it (I'm glad I didn't get medium). There was a lot of sauce, though. I guess I like a dryer roti with more chicken. Rotis comes with a chick pea salad and dessert. read more

We found it a bit pricy so we decide to try it outside the CNE. I found this place through the app Ritual because it is offering $5 off if you order through the app. I order the lamb roti and picked it up in the store. On the container, there is a sticker saying "Best Roti in Toronto". I think this place is new because I never saw it there. It shared the same room with My Dosa Place. The place orders at the counter. style There is a spacious dine-in area. I have tried at a different roti place before, and this is not the best roti I have had. I have had a better taste at another roti place. It was too salty, I felt like there is not enough bread to balance the strong taste of curry. We finished the bread but had a lot of curry leftover. After $5 off, it is still expensive. I think it costs around $12 after tax after $5 off, so the original price is around $17 after tax for a roti. That is more expensive than CNE. This Roti spot is a great place to dine in after clubbing or bar hopping hours. It'll fill you up real good. The way they make their rotis here are almost like quesadillas where they wrap the meat with freshly baked roti wrap. I recommend their lamb meat with vindaloo sauce. It's thick and full of bold flavors. This alone will make you full for half the day and it's only priced at $14. I love how their entrees come with dessert too! It's unique how they implemented this. I've been on a bit of an indian food kick lately and this place has served me well, I've ordered from here twice and it's excellent roti, fresh and delicious. I've had their standard curry as well as their butter masala. I love the fact we can design our own roti's. With the standard curry i chose lamb as my protein, i admit, it was a bit of a gamble as lamb is always over cooked and dry, but to my surprise, the lamb was tender and perfectly cooked. The butter masala, i had paneer with it and that was also excellent. Usually "butter" in Toronto Indian food means too sweet, so i was hoping it wasn't too sweet, and it wasn't. The Butter masala sauce was really rich and delicious and loaded with tons of paneer. you can clearly see they take pride in what they serve. I have to also say i hope they keep up their generous servings, most roti places skimp on everything, so you end up with this flat deflated looking roti that more sauce and roti than anything else, tasty, but you are always left feeling a bit ripped off as for something that just cost your $15, it's hard to return to shops like that. My Roti place also offers vegan meals, which my friend loved, the desert that they sent along was delicious, and they were also so very thoughtful to put a note in the bag to make us aware that the dessert was not vegan, i mean who does that? My vegan friend was blown away, she loved the roti and was really happy they cared enough to make sure we knew the desert was not plant based. they have definitely earned my patronage. read more

Nice little Indian fast food joint just opened up on Queen St. We checked it out and went twice already We ordered the turmeric roti with lamb once and fish the other time.... Both were very tasty!! The biryani was good, but the rice was a little mushier than the ones we've tried elsewhere. Also had a mango lassi, I think it was super refreshing, just a little too sweet for me, but prolly the right level of tastiness for others. All in all, quite excited for this little gem in our hood! Trying a roti has been on my wishlist for a while. We did a take away to eat in the park, with friends. The menu is ellobrate and very customizable, has options for veggies and meat, with spice level and different type of rotis. We got a mix of butter chicken, Chicken vindaloo a lamb and a hakka fish, mixing in one with rice and another with a turmeric roti and their spiciest curry choice. The lamb and the Chicken vindaloo were the best out of the lot. Spice levels as promised. If you are a non spicy eater like me go with the least spicy but the experience of the food remains the same. The chicken and lamb was very well marinated and melted in the mouth. The rotis were succulent but thick enough not to leak. The hakka fish is a dish to try if you want a sweet and sour fish, also done very well however not something I would like. The rotis were excellent but the rice bowl was also equally delicious. The food was great and has opened up a whole new type of food dishes to try. It is about $13.75 each for a bowl and is enough for one person for a meal, a heavy meal. I ordered two custom rotis from My Roti Place for through Uber Eats delivery. As the name suggests, it really is YOUR roti place. The customization trend seems to be big right now I've noticed... You get to make your own custom pizza or your own custom poke bowl or your own custom roti in this case and man what a great idea. I am here for the customization, give me exactly what I want. My Roti place does have pre-set flavours you can choose from or the custom option where you make your own. 1. Base - different types of rotis, rice or salad 2. Protein/Filling - they have the usual meats. For vegetarians, they have paneer, tofu, veggies or cheese balls (kofta) 3. Curry - oh man the options were so diverse, I loved it. I went with the Tangra Hakka Chilli but I also got to try the Butter Masala. There's 7 or 8 different curry options and with 7 or 8 protein options, the options are endless. Even if you're limited to vegetarian (like I am), there's sooo many options! 4. Spice - choose how hot you want it. I went with the conservative Goldilocks' choice of medium. (It was pretty spicy) The roti came hot considering it was delivered. Each roti came with a chickpea side salad and a gulab jamun. The roti's are also pretty densely packed with filling so one roti is quite large on its own, it can be made into two meals if you combine it with a salad or something. My Roti Place is the newest restaurant in one of Toronto's most cursed locations. Can it survive the curse??? I think so. For starters, they stand out with their crazy painted exterior. Which I think will draw people in... And also... Because the food is damn good. I'm not a roti expert myself. But I do really like Roti. And I've had roti and many spots in the city. I didn't expect much from this place because it's in a cursed location - but to my surprise it was pretty damn amazing. I INHALED a butter chicken roti like it was air. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars was the amount of meat. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't too generous either. I asked if there was a lot of meat in the roti and they said it came with '1 portion'. Which could mean anything lol. I think they should start serving it with 1.25 portions. If they did, and if other stuff on the menu tastes as good as the butter chicken roti - I would change my review to 5 stars. Because the food is damn tasty. And the service was really great. I came from Britain three years ago and was disappointed by the Indian offering in Toronto. Its either too bland, no spice or too sweet. This place recently opened and it is THE best Indian I've had here. I can't recommend it enough. Real chicken breast, copious amounts of sauce, real spice and flavour and the roti is perfect. Definitely visit here. Go for the butter misala and get a naan bread for the sauce. This is real Indian food and it's too good to be true. I'm not sure who gave one star below and if it was genuine but I've had about 6 rotis in the last two weeks because they were so good and I've never had a bad one. I eat a lot of Indian roti in the city so I'm going to break it down in the hopes that the owners can turn this very promising place around. It just needs some minor tweaks that will make a huge difference. What's good: the sauce flavor is on point. The price is very reasonable. What needs to change: - The sauce is way too liquidy to work in a roti. This is acceptable in a bowl, but not inside bread. It turns to soup completely as you cut into the roti. All they have to do is cook the sauce down more. Have some patience! Tweak the liquid content. This is essential. I know you have more than just roti but roti is your thing so get that right first. - The paneer is not great. It tastes like a block of cheap pizza cheese including texture. Too gooey, not porous. That's really it. Fix your sauce thickness and your cheese. The sauce flavor is there, it's just sooo watery. Fix this and I'll be there all the time, you're open late plus weekends so you can totally kill Ghandi Roti! You're so close. read more

The staff is really friendly and the fillings are really tasty, but the rotis lack much filling, and the filling itself is mostly sauce without enough meat (or any vegetables or anything else, as far as I could tell, the addition of which would be awesome). When they get it right, they have good taste but we have ordered from here a couple of times and have experienced things like partially / entirely wrong orders, forgotten items, orders that are too spicy when requested mild, orders that are not made well / are stale.
