I have never met more compassionate people than Gary and Annie. They're true dog people, and they care about what is best for your pet and work with them accordingly. We rescued our dog Okra 4 months ago and immediately had him shaved for a fresh start not long after having him (maybe a week or two) but he had a terrible experience at that groomer and was severely cut. It took awhile for him to grow out and I was in contact with Annie from My Two Dogs about Okra over email and how we can go forward with the grooming and make him comfortable given he was not the same for a few days at that first experience with someone else. We made a plan I took him in and immediately had to pick him up because he was frantic. It was an upsetting day for all but Annie was determined to come up with a plan for me and Okra. We got a anxiety medicine from our vet and decided I would stay with him during the grooming process and they would do so when there were no other dogs present. They just kept making sacrifices for us when they could have turned us away. It would have been so easy for them to say that they didn't want to work with us but the compassion Annie and Gary had for our situation was remarkable and honestly brought us to tears. So many people have failed our dog in his past life and we were so relieved to find Annie and Gary -- two more people in Okra's arsenal of those who care to see him be happy and thrive. We came back for our groom today with our new plan in place and Okra did FABULOUS. Honestly, much better than I expected! Amazing experience! Took my two dogs, Olive and Noodle here. It was Noodle's first time at a professional groomer. He's afraid of showers, but they managed to do the whole platinum package despite his nervousness! Annie was in love with him, and it made me happy to see someone appreciate his goofiness. It was $45 for a wash, nail trim, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing. Olive is no stranger to grooming but she's finicky and tends to growl/bite those who touch her particular areas (ears and butt/tail), but they did it! I believe Annie has experience with anxious dogs and takes her time to work with the animals to gain their trust. It was $55 for A wash, trim, nail and ears, and teeth brushing. For your first visit, they give a complimentary platinum package, and I got a $10 discount for some reason! Both babies are smelling fresh, feeling soft, and looking cute! I chose My Two Dogs based on the positive feedback here. They did a very good job with my shepherd mix, who hasn't been groomed professionally in many years (I usually just wash him and clip his nails myself). Well, they did a great job on his haircut. He looks so neat and stately now. I can cane corso complain about their work. The appointment process was straight-forward (made via phone collie) and I got a text reminder. I showed up a few minutes late but wasn't given any shitzu by the groomers. I'm not bulldogging you. My dog was apparently comfortable with them and only made a fuss when I dropped-by mid-grooming to check on progress. He was anxious that I might leave him. Just some separation anxiety whenever I leave and say chow chow or poodle loo. The only thing that I didn't like was the waiver that you sign before they work. I found it a bit onerous but unless you're also a corporate lawyer, you may not be as annoyed with the terms. I wasn't sure whether to deduct a star for that. The cost? I didn't shar pei too much. Found my wallet and then I whippet out my AMEX. I'd beagle going back even though they're in Williamsburg and I live in central Queens. read more

This place is awesome!! It has to be one of the best if not the best pet grooming shop I've been to. I took both of my Shitz here and they both came home looking like studs in addition to smelling so fresh and so clean. My dog, Spike, is a bit beastly and not so kind when it comes to his nails due to a bad experience elsewhere, so I have to give him meds to sedate him a bit. Most place are not willing to groom him since he is sedated but this place was fine with it...woohoo! They do charge an extra $5 bucks for "special care" , but it was more than worth it. Two groomers were working on Spike (one was grooming and the other was rubbing his head, talk about royal treatment!). Although he was sedated, he still gave them trouble during certain procedures but Gary found alternatives to get the job done! This place will now be the boys' grooming shop! read more

New location same incredible service. I brought my cocker spaniel for a trim and wash. The staff was so welcoming. The "stylists" actually took time to meet with me and my pup before the cut. We talked through my preferences, as well as watch outs for the pup (ears). It was such a great experience!! Not only did my dog end up looking fabulous but he wasn't emotionally distressed afterward which has happened with other groomers. An added bonus is that they have lots of add-ons, so I was able to get my dogs teeth brushed for $5. What a bonus! All-in-all a great experience. When this cut grows out, we'll be back. read more

Annie and Gary are the BEST dog groomers - they take care of appointments and billing really easily virtually (email/saved credit card) and they take amazing care of your pup. I have a poodle mix that can get pretty fluffy and they spent the time brushing him out and making his look so fresh and clean. I have a 5 month old puppy and just moved to the area so my two dogs was the closest groomer. I cannot begin to express how fantastic they were from beginning to end. I got a quote very quickly on yelp, made an appt for a few days later, filled out my customer portal and took my little Petunia in today. From beginning to end, they were so kind. Petunia came back smelling fantastic and looks so adorable. She also came back bouncing and happy even though this was her first time at the groomers. Fantastic! I have been to several groomers all around Brooklyn and they are by far the best. First off- they are the sweetest and took time to ask me about my pup. They wanted to know any fears he had, if anything made him nervous, how his coat was etc and then made suggestions on what they would be doing. The shop is wide open so you can see what they are doing (unlike other places) which is nice. They gave me an estimated time and then called half hour before he was done. He not only looked great and clean but he was happy! And trust me..when my pup is not happy you know it. He was nervous going in but when I picked him up he was taking treats out of their hands, wagging, and licking them! Great place, fantastic people and I will be back! So my wife loves this place and asked me to write up a review. First, they have good prices: $65 groom vs $100 at other groomers Ro was the groomer. She listened and actually delivered what my wife wanted. Our dog, Mooshu came out looking like herself instead of receiving the same ugly puppy cut (round poofy face and short hair) she gets everywhere else. Best groomers we've been to in NY to date. My wife usually grooms Mooshu herself because we never found a groomer we liked, but with a photoshoot (Mooshu's was modeling some dog bags) and no time, we chose My Two Dogs after reading all the great reviews. I don't have enough good things to say about My Two Dogs. My dog, Lily, loved getting groomed here. Annie and the crew are so nice and welcoming when she comes in. We found them on Yelp, years ago when I moved from Manhattan to Williamsburg. Back then, they were in a location a few minutes away from my apartment, walking, which was great. After a few years, they relocated to East Williamsburg and we still remained loyal customers. Lily always came back from them in a good mood and smelling like blueberry shampoo. Recently, we moved to South Brooklyn, and it's just too far a ride for our pup who gets car sick. My Two Dogs proved themselves incredibly compassionate and skillful when I brought in a frightened, unkempt dog for grooming. They also charged less than comparable neighborhood groomers who use similar high-end products ($70 vs $105). To be more specific, I brought in a skittish, senior Standard Poodle whose grooming had been neglected for months. Though he was a temporary foster dog (i.e. not a repeat customer), they still made every effort to ease his anxiety and not overcharge us what I was quoted. Before he went in, the groomer spent a few minutes socializing with him and discussing the most practical options. When it was all done, I was shocked at how handsome the dog was underneath his mess of overgrown matted fur. The owner even spent a few extra minutes to wish us well in the search for a permanent home for the dog. I am happy to report that the dog indeed found a loving new home, thanks in part to the excellent grooming he received at My Two Dogs! read more

Since they opened, My Two Dogs has been the only place we have trusted to groom our Australian Shepherd (Blue Merle Coat), first at their Greenpoint location, and then in Williamsburg. From when she was a young puppy, right up until her passing away, Annie and Gary were our go to for grooming. We were always satisfied with the outcome. We loved to keep our girls coat clean and trimmed, so you could see the true marbling in her beautiful Merle coat. Our dog was always happy to go to the shop, and we were always happy to see Gary and Annie's smiling faces when we dropped her off and picked her up. Gary and Annie are excellent at their craft, the best groomers we have ever worked with. Even in our dogs later years, as she got sick, Annie and Gary were sure to give her any extra care and attention she needed. As well as giving our family such great advice about veterinarians and treatments for our girl. Aside from doing a top notch job as groomers, Annie and Gary always treated our dog as their own, and gave us such great consolation in knowing she was in safe and loving hands while she was away from us. If we even have another dog join our family, we will always go back to My Two Dogs. Keep up the excellent work, we are so lucky to have you in our neighborhood! This is the best groomer in Brooklyn. We've been bringing our pup here for two years and he's always perfectly groomed, relaxed, and happy as a clam when we pick him up (and he's a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to being left behind). They listen to our silly cut requests and execute them perfectly (we usually request they leave on his "wolverines" or mutton chops, along with the usual puppy cut). These guys are awesome! My dog Teddy was getting his haircuts there since he was a puppy. After we got our second dog Freddy he also was going to My Two Dogs. They always did such an incredible job. Haircuts were cute and done perfectly (very even, no stray hair, etc.). They cut the nails, cleaned ears beautifully and did fantastic sani trim. If you live in NYC and especially in Brooklyn go there! You and your dog will be happy. I recently moved to SF and cannot find a groomer who would be at least half as good as My Two Dogs team. For starters, The place is very hygienic and spacious, the dogs are kept in pens with wee pads & are always supervised. Theres both a groomer and the trainer present & they take atleast 10-15 minutes to understand what you want done. Very great customer service because they are attentive & gracious. I would absolutely recomend this groomer ! You can choose the shampoo you would like and your fury friends will smell divine ! An amazing place to get your lil fluff ball groomed. The staff really pay attention to what you ask for, and deliver it flawlessly. They are also very gracious. I had a little snafu with my appointment time (totally my fault) and showed up with my pup an hour late- they managed to still fit him in with their busy schedule & didn't make a fuss about it.
