In early July 2026 we had Proper Hour Home Services help us with pre-installation work for a new…read morerefrigerator. As always, Proper Hour Home Services were very easy to work with and did a fantastic job at a great price! Our new fridge was too tall for our cabinet space, so needed to cut about 1 1/4 inches from top lip. We also had a long copper tubing run connecting filtered water to our old fridge ice maker. Since Lowe's installation doesn't work with copper tubing and requires a valve to hook up the ice maker line, we needed the copper tubing cut and a valve added to the new end. Ihor from PHHS came and did an excellent job on both tasks! He was able to detach the cabinet lip and cut it outside, so we never heard the loud sawing we expected :-). After installing the cut lip, it measured just right with a little room to space. He cut the copper tubing very cleanly after turning off the water main and installed and tested the valve he bought at Home Depot. Ihor also put down plastic before the work and did a great cleanup job. Our new fridge fit perfectly in the cabinet space and Lowe's installers had a very simple, smooth hookup of the ice maker line to the new valve with their ice maker line installation kit we bought with the fridge. Thank you Proper Hour Home Services for another well done job at our home!

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

This is a follow-up on my previous review where I said I ended up contracting Alex for another job,…read morewhich was to install a dedicated circuit for my computer. I really appreciated Alex's patience with me as I was discussing various different circuit types and the socket to use where I initially stated with thinking of a 120V 20A circuit with a 5-20r socket. He came up with an initial plan around cabling and circuit breaker required and we had agreed on it. Over a few days I felt I wanted more capacity for my computer and decided to go into the 240v / 30A range which would change the build requirements entirely; Alex was extremely adaptive, never complained, and we talked through what that would require and agreed on the new build-out which would use 10/3 wiring with an appropriate gcfi breaker. I wanted to use a specialized l6-30r that had a visual consumption display, which he was fine with and I would purchase. When evaluating the path he'd need to take to install the wiring, he was always insistent on doing it the right way and was honest when a particular route was outside his abilities and advised if I wanted a particular route done that someone with more specialization would be more appropriate. He also would go out to buy the proper materials and did not up charge on material cost; we agreed that I'll pay what the costs were as long as he had the receipts for them. Install of the 240v / 30A circuit was over a period of two days; he was 90% done the first day and the circuit was operational. Fortunately he didn't gave to drill through the wood beams to route cabling and managed to do it through the ceiling light openings instead. The remaining 10% was just patching and painting the walls. Alex was really good about covering areas with plastic sheeting for protection. I felt he removed the minimal amount of wall necessary to do the job. There was one snag on my end where he inspected the l6-30A socket with display I got and noted that the markings on the socket were really strange (it only had one hot, neutral, and ground input); we decided not to use it and he would go out and get the appropriate socket and also do a paint match for the walls. His paint job and patch work was amazing; I couldn't tell that it was worked on at all (aside from the really slight paint hue due to matching not being entirely perfect but you'd have to look close to determine that). He did a beyond good job that I was happy to include a significant tip in addition to our agreed upon labor rate. Would definitely work with Alex again!

I had an 83" LG G5 OLED that needed wall mounting, plus a Sonos Arc Ultra and two Era 300s I wanted as rear surrounds. The Era 300s were the part I was nervous about since rear speakers usually mean ugly wires running all over the wall. Jeff somehow made them basically invisible. He showed up when he said he would, was clean and careful with everything, and clearly knew what he was doing. The TV is dead level, the surrounds are placed perfectly, and the whole thing just looks finished and professional. If you've got a nice TV or a Sonos setup and you want it done right the first time, just call Jeff. Worth every penny.

He was very professional and did a great job. I'm very happy. I have nothing to complain about. Payment was easy. Once the contractor left the company sent me info on how to pay, I chose Zelle. Sent them screenshots to make sure it was the correct company I was sending money too, once again they answered right back and money was sent. Very easy.

Despite the job requiring two technicians, only one was sent. While he was friendly, he mounted the flatscreens crooked and off-center, left exposed wiring, and departed before completing the work--something I didn't notice until after he left. My attempts to resolve the situation with Fixtman were frustrating. I was passed between multiple "quality service representatives," faced overbilling attempts, and despite promises to send another professional, they stopped responding. The situation worsened when the technician obtained my personal number and harassed me for payment, threatening to visit until I paid. I sent him $200 to end the harassment. Thumbtack later reimbursed me, and when Fixtman eventually reached out about sending another technician, I declined further service. After closely examining reviews on Thumbtack, google and other platforms, I discovered this was a pattern with Fixtman and their technicians. Lesson learned: regardless of the number of positive reviews, always scrutinize negative and recent feedback!
