They offer New Zealand style ice cream, their infamous matcha slush, and now have hot drinks. Their New Zealand style ice cream is so good! I tried their matcha and hojicha - both were very enjoyable. Their matcha slush is also delicious! Perfect during the summer time. It's a slush - but still has a strong matcha flavour that isn't too sweet or bitter, just right! I tried 3 of their hot drinks including their black sesame, matcha, and hojicha. Hojicha was my favourite for sure. Would definitely recommend stopping by for a treat here. Service is great, and staff are super nice!

Their ice cream machine happened to be down when I visited, so they kindly topped my drink with a scoop of ice cream instead and turned it into a float. I chose the Earl Grey ice cream, and it ended up being a pairing I didn't know I needed. Both the matcha and Earl Grey flavors were strong, distinct, and incredibly well executed. What I appreciate most is that they let the tea shine rather than masking it with excessive sweetness or artificial flavors. Honestly, the scoop of ice cream may have been an even better experience than the original float. It was so good that I found myself trying to slow down and savor every sip.

The only odd thing is the outlet situation--it's a bit chaotic--so it's not exactly the best spot if you're planning to camp there with a laptop and pretend to be productive. On that first visit, I ordered the rice dacquoise and, to be honest, it kind of spooked me. I think I was expecting something like a macaron with whipped cream in the middle, but it was much lighter and softer than that. My brain didn't quite know how to process it. A few months later, I ended up coming back because I desperately needed a late evening coffee and the nearby Togo Coffee was closed. And wow, Luna Bakery makes excellent espresso drinks & I was not expecting that. The latte was incredibly creamy, nutty, and subtly sweet, with all that sweetness coming naturally from the perfectly roasted beans. Every sip felt like a small trip to caffeine paradise. I also gave the rice dacquoise another shot - this time the strawberry one - and suddenly it made sense lol. Light, slightly fruity, a little tangy, and perfect with the coffee. Now I enjoy coming back - partly for the coffee, and partly because my taste buds have finally learned to appreciate the rice pastries instead of being spooked by them. Service is always friendly - they never judge you for trying way too many free rice bakery samples. Bless.

Their main location is in Mississauga, and they expanded to North York a few years ago. Service is nice and cheerful, making you feel quite welcome. I like their drink selection that has some interesting things like black sesame latte, tiramisu latte, and grapefruit tea. Their dessert select is good too, with things big and small. Their rolls and cakes are excellent, with plenty of cream, not too sweet. The cakes are beautifully glazed and decorated. The sweet potato cake is fluffy and light. The mont blanc has a nice chestnutty flavour, but is a bit too sweet for my liking. At the moment, they are selling Korean dubai chewy cookies, but we'll see how long this fad lasts...

But she was right LOL. It was really good, and it was even better than the desserts at the restaurant we had dinner at that night. We cut the 6" cheesecake into 12 small pieces, and it was perfect for a sweet little treat at the end of our meal :) The staff were courteous and ready to help. It was quite busy even on a Saturday evening around 6pm. There are also tables inside the shop for dining in. Other than whole cakes, they do have slices of cakes available and other mini desserts + a lot of macarons! We did request the shop to write HBD on the cake, but the staff said they are unable to do it at this location (not sure why, maybe don't have the proper tools?). We also tried asking for a candle; we ended up having to buy a pack of 6 candles at the shop :\

CAFE N ONE . …read more Cafe n One is probably one of my favourite "new" restaurants that I tried recently. Located on the 2nd floor at Yonge and Finch, Cafe n One is a bright, cute cafe serving Japanese inspired brunch items, drinks, pastas and desserts. . . Classic Breakfast 4/5 Chicken Karaage 3/5 Croffles 5/5 Green Tea Soufflé Pancake 4.3/5 Latte 4.8/5 . . We arrived around 10 minutes after open and there were already a handful of people seated. The drinks and food came out pretty quickly except the soufflé pancakes which takes 25minutes to prepare. My favourite was the croffle. For $10, you get 2 big pieces of croffle which tastes great with either whipped cream or syrup. The chicken karaage was kind of dry on its own, but dipping it in the syrup and eating it with the croffle made it better. If you want a hearty breakfast, the classic breakfast is a solid choice. The soufflé pancake was fluffy and delicious, well worth the wait. I was amazed by the detailed latte art as well. Highly recommend this cafe!

We happened to drop by the day of the massive Iranian protest, and were surprised by how much business it had, and also how soundproof the windows were. - Classic breakfast: lots of food! Pork belly was especially nice -- rich as crispy. - Karaage honey hot cake: Quite a bit of food too, hot fried chicken can't go wrong! - Ice Americano - Iced houjicha latte: didn't really get much houjicha flavour. Prices were reasonable for brunch in the area. The service was fast and efficient, and with a smile. There were a lot of customers that day, and we felt the indoor noise level was a bit loud to have a comfortable conversation. Still... We'd love to come back and try more of the menu.
