No wedding is perfect! When my wife and I were planning our big day, the biggest piece of advice everyone gave was to understand that every wedding is fraught with at least 1 complication; the best thing to do was anticipate and be ready to adapt. I feel more than fortunate saying that the only "snafu" of our wedding day was our transportation situation. We got married in Malibu and as there are no hotels in the area, we reserved hotel rooms in the Westlake area. My wife's family generously made a shuttle available to provide transportation for all guests staying at the hotel to the venue and back so there would be no issues regarding driving before or after the festivities. My wife also wanted to plan a fun surprise and have all the groomsmen and bridesmaids travel together, then use the bus as a hang-out for the groomsmen while the bridesmaids got ready/did their last minute touch-ups at the venue. The problem really was a domino effect from an initial horrible mistake and our transportation situation went downhill from there. The bus driver who was instructed to pick up the groomsmen from one hotel ended up picking up a few families (women and children included) from that hotel instead, going to the next hotel to pick up more families, then started on its way to the venue. About 15 after we were expecting to see our driver for the groomsmen party, the mother of the bride began calling the company and they continued to say "she was 10 minutes away"... they kept saying this. Only 30 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time for the groomsmen, did the driver arrive, drop off all the guest she had accumulated at one hotel, and then proceeded to pick up the groomsmen and then the bridesmaids. She then go the directions wrong on the way to the venue and did not know where the venue was. From her actions, the main shuttle carrying all hotel-staying guests was also 30 minutes late. Finally, the company was responsible for picking up individuals from the venue to take them back to the hotel, and showed up and left 10 minutes earlier than the originally planned time for pick-up without making any notification to any wedding coordinator. This left approximately 30 guests waiting about 1.5 hours for the next shuttle, and forced the best man and several groomsmen to get an uber as the last shuttle was too full as a result of extra guests it needed to accommodate. When my wife's family called to ask why everything had gone so terribly wrong, the company stated that there was no coordinator at each location to usher people accordingly (which was never discussed before hand... and I mean really - if you're picking up "Groomsmen" dont you think woman & children should be your first clue that something is not right). The company offered a menial discount to the total bill as a means for compensation. Overall, this was really the only fiasco of our wedding, but was the most stressful part of our wedding... ultimately taking time away from both families to spend with loved ones. read more

Today, 4-30-17 at 10:30 am while on my way to church the MyBus driver between Westlake and Agoura was on the phone as he merged onto the 101 freeway almost killing me on my bike as he was more interested in his call than paying attention to his driving. My husband and I live in LA, but neither one of us is from here - so most of our family/friends were coming from out of town. Our wedding hotel was only 1.5 miles from the venue, so we didn't want to spend a ton of money on a trolley/double decker bus/limo. We researched shuttles and found MyBus. The prices are EXTREMELY reasonable and the shuttle was clean and new-looking. Our driver, Darlena, was friendly, professional, and arrived early. The shuttle was mainly for guests (bridal parties were already at the venue), and everyone had good things to say. When we finally got on at the end of the night, we saw how nice (and spacious) the shuttle was and how friendly Darlena was! The only hiccup occurred during the planning process. From the time we booked the shuttle to the time of our wedding, the company when through a re-branding and I received some (generic) materials in the mail about their new website and contact info. I then reached out, since I had emailed my contact a couple weeks prior and had not heard back. I found out that he no longer worked there and they couldn't access his email. I am glad I reached out - because I am not sure when I would have been contacted from them as someone with an existing contract (probably the week prior when they confirm your driver). There was also some confusion about what our package included (the new staff told me something different from the first guy, but when I sent them his emails, they honored what he said) and who our driver would be (it switched 2 times in the days before the wedding). Overall, this new staff is extremely responsive and we were very happy with the service! I recommend them if you are looking for a safe, clean shuttle to help get people around without going for the "limo/trolley" look. read more

Great bus company! We used MyBus Charters to shuttle guests for our wedding in Topanga, CA. This was what I considered to be the most crucial part of our wedding, as there are typically no Ubers even close to our venue. As such, reliability and responsiveness was top of mind. On January 5th, our tour group used MyBus Charter for a day trip from downtown LA to Malibu. The driver arrived late to The L.A. Hotel Downtown, our tour guide had booked a bus with a working microphone, there was NOT one. The drivers response was, "I don't know when they are going to fix it". The driver had no GPS and did not know how to get to our destination. We were driven all the way to Malibu on Sunset Blvd instead of one of the freeways, needless to say we were an hour late arriving at our destination. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience with MyBus Charters. The reason I'm giving two stars and not just one is because from the start, Paul was responsive, courteous, and informative. After another shuttle company had "accidentally" given away the shuttle bus that I had on hold for months for my wedding, I emailed Paul to see if he had any vehicles available. Luckily, he did for my wedding date - we talked about price options, pickup times, and even confirming that the bus would be able to get up the hill to our venue. Two weeks before the wedding, just a day or two after we had had extensive conversations about the shuttle and the schedule, I emailed him to say we were just about ready to confirm. Two days later, I get an email back from him saying sorry, but your date is now completely booked, and we don't have a shuttle for you anymore. Um, what? I would think that if you've been emailing with a potential customer for a couple weeks about a particular date, to the point where you've been discussing details about vehicle size, schedules, and venue location, that you would inform them immediately if there was other interest in their date or the possibility of someone else booking their vehicle. I was really shocked and angry to hear this from him only two weeks before my wedding, and I had to scramble last minute to find a new option. I ended up having to go with the original shuttle company, which has horrible customer service, and I needed to pay through the nose for the reservation because it was so last minute. So, even though Paul was pleasant to deal with, I really wish he would have been more responsible in telling me that there was other interest in the date that we had discussed so thoroughly. It's just good business to do so. If I had known that there was other interest or a chance of our date being taken away, I would have booked immediately to prevent that from happening. This is truly out of the ordinary for a bus assignment...going 32 miles in 4 hours...navigating traffic in LA and picking up stranded bicycle riders. The driver, Herb, was there well before the assigned time and stayed late with a professional, positive and upbeat attitude the whole day. The bus was clean and well maintained. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Not only is it affordable (the prices are far better than any of the other companies I called in the area), it is an absolute pleasure to work with this team. Paul was extremely responsive and was happy to answer my many questions. To be honest, I was scared hiring a company without knowing much about them. I was relying upon them to get my family of 28 to the cruise port for a family trip and a no show or late driver could have been disastrous for us. Our experience was phenomenal!! The driver arrived early and was happy to slowly help us load our luggage onto the bus. He then proceeded to our next stop which is a tight squeeze into the neighborhood. He maneuvered the bus like a pro! The driver (I apologize for forgetting his name) was a pure delight. He was friendly and he was a safe driver. The bus was extremely clean and certainly exceeded our expectations. The buses are just as pictured on the website. Additionally, this company is honest. One of our girls lost her purse. Turns out she left it on the bus. The driver found the purse, held onto it the week we were on the cruise and returned it to us. Thank you!! Should the opportunity arise, I would definitely use this company again. Kicking our vacation off on such a high note was spectacular!
