Barbecue chicken, which was frozen in the center
    Jackie O.

Well, I will say the music is great. The ambience is great. You have great live music which the singer is so amazing. He knows most of the cover songs that he goes over which are from the 80s but definitely still pretty cool however, I ordered BBQ half chicken, rice and vegetable and when I got to the center of the chicken, it was frozen to my horror . I just simply told the server to remove that meal off my bill pay for the remaining food and drinks and exit stage left.

Next time, though, might try the grouper, which is a fillet without the bones.

This is a very touristy spot on the main road. The menu is bar food and a variety of entrees that are higher quality. They're known for the painkillers where you pick how much pain you are in to determine the amount of alcohol. The calamari was average but the fried jalapeños were good. The coconut shrimp were very good and I picked the vegetables and rice as my side. Overall, it was a pretty good dish and a large portion. The staff is friendly and the food arrived in a timely matter. They also have a large gift shop in the back. FYI: the address isn't right on Yelp for this. It's right across from the ferry port.

Cool History, But Not Worth It for the Food…read more Pusser's definitely has a cool atmosphere and a lot of history, and the inside is fun to look around. It was the first place we ate after getting to the island, so at the time we didn't have much to compare it to. After spending the rest of our trip trying other restaurants, though, there are SO many better places to eat. We ordered the Monster Meat pizza, which was $47, and honestly it tasted like a frozen pizza. For that price, we were expecting something significantly better. Nothing about the food really stood out or made us want to come back. The history behind Pusser's is interesting, and it's cool to stop in and try the famous rum or have a drink just to experience the place. But for an actual meal, I'd skip it. There are much better food options on the island that are far more worth your time and money.

Oh. My. God. The food is divine. You must try this place. This was the best meal of our entire…read moretrip. (Directions at the end.) Our original pick was closed for the month of May and by happenstance the owner recommended Sylvia's. We walked in and the place has just the essentials. There's a bar on the right and then the kitchen, tables on the left, and bathrooms in the back. The menu is on a white board with a cash only sign right below. There were about 6 mains and each came with two sides (4 options, the 5th sold out). Sylvia took our order and between the 4 of us we tried 3 of the mains and all of the sides. I had the fresh fish of the day, grilled in butter sauce. It came out head, tail, scales and all. Sylvia explained this as I ordered and let me know it was to keep all of the flavor. She also showed me how to slice it to avoid the bones and it was flat out delicious. We shared the sides among us, my favorites being the mash and spinach; though all were good. My boyfriend ordered the jerk chicken and it had some serious heat. He asked about the recipe and Sylvia mentioned that everyone on the island had the same request but no one ever got it. My friend ordered the homemade key lime pie; best she ever tasted. Some quirks: There's a bar and the restaurant that operate as two different businesses, so you'll get your drinks on one bill and the food on a second. Also, they are CASH ONLY; It cost us about $150 to get out the door for dinner for 4, drinks, and a generous tip. Sylvia serves her food in Sputnik Bar. If you're approaching from the northwest on Rte 10, keep straight instead of turning into Coral Bay (at the 107 split). It'll be about 1/2 mile down the road on the left.

They have inside and outside dining, with most of the outside dining having shade from the tree cover. We had heard their chicken dishes were very good, so we ordered the chicken and waffles, with gravy and a fried egg on top. The chicken was crispy and moist. It was really tasty and definitely made the meal. We also ordered their special dish of the morning which was a fried breakfast burrito with egg, sausage, avocado and a glaze of the chipotle sauce on the tortilla, with a serving of country potatoes on the side. The filling of the burrito was very good, but I think I would rather have this deconstructed than inside a flour tortilla. There were many other good options on the menu and I'm sure I will enjoy trying the other breakfast entrees I saw being served. The star of our meal was our server. She was absolutely fantastic and didn't miss anything from greeting us, to wishing us an enjoyable day as we were leaving. We enjoyed ourselves and would come back again.

Everything is so fresh and packed with flavor, that you really can't go wrong with anything in the menu. The vegetable paella was delicious, the two tridatos we tried were fresh and bright with the different sauces on top, and the key lime pie was absolutely amazing. It is definitely the vacationers favorite spot, but I wouldn't say it's too touristy or anything. It gets a lot of attention because it's good and a nice place to eat dinner with your family on vacation. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly. The host was kind enough to try to squeeze us in anywhere he could so for that we are very grateful. The food took awhile to come out, but that's probably just island time stuff, and besides the place was PACKED. But our appetizers and desserts came out really quickly. We loved our time here and would definitely recommend giving it a try if possible! There is a good mix of seafood and "land breezes" on the menu, plus a couple vegetarian plates if needed. After getting an amazing cocktail at the bar while waiting for our table, and then receiving a great spot on the front corner of the patio things started going downhill as others have mentioned. After taking our order, we never saw our server again (other than watching him help other tables) until after our entrees were delivered and we asked someone to find him to help us get a glass of wine. We had originally planned to order a bottle but just opted for a glass at that point. Our appetizers dishes and empty cocktail glasses also sat for quite awhile on the table while we waited. Food was a mixed bag. Enjoyed the special soup and tango salad but our grouper and wahoo entrees were disappointing and overcooked. Skipped dessert as we were both a bit bummed at the overall experience. Not sure if we would try again with other spots on the island we would like to try, but if we did, would opt for the bar in hopes of better service.
