Barbecue chicken, which was frozen in the center
    Jackie O.

Well, I will say the music is great. The ambience is great. You have great live music which the singer is so amazing. He knows most of the cover songs that he goes over which are from the 80s but definitely still pretty cool however, I ordered BBQ half chicken, rice and vegetable and when I got to the center of the chicken, it was frozen to my horror . I just simply told the server to remove that meal off my bill pay for the remaining food and drinks and exit stage left.

Next time, though, might try the grouper, which is a fillet without the bones.

A great spot to rest after the Ram Head hike. We just wanted a snack so we ended up splitting a fried shrimp basket with tots as the side. Everything was super hot and crispy. The food was amazing and there was a great variety. If you want hamburgers or chicken fingers you have that as an option but if you are looking for fresh seafood you can get that as well. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. This is one of the places we are sure to return during our visit to the island. The staff at Surf Club Cantina were also excellent and very attentive and friendly. The owner stopped by our table on more than one occasion to check in on us and brought brackets to our kiddos. If you are looking for a place to eat on the east end of St John or if you are looking to escape the busier side of the island for a dinner with the family you will not be disappointed. Parking around back makes it easy to find a spot to park so long as you are aware it is available in the back.

He sold us on some drinks with watermelon rum and something else which was amazing, then I tried the vegan burger (wasn't really a burger) it came on a bed of rice and greens and drizzled with what can only be described as awesomeness. my wife had the curry tofu which was also excellent. The presentation of the food was good and the building was quite nice and the staff was very friendly. After drinks, two entrees and desert we were expecting this to come out to $80 at least given our previous experiences dining out on St. Thomas. and I would have gladly payed that. but it came out to around $50 I was floored I've had lunch with two sandwiches and two beers come out to $45 on this island and to have a proper dinner come out to $50. This place is a must try, and yes they have stuff for people who eat meat as well, as I was re-reading this it looked like it might have been a veg restaurant.

This is a very touristy spot on the main road. The menu is bar food and a variety of entrees that are higher quality. They're known for the painkillers where you pick how much pain you are in to determine the amount of alcohol. The calamari was average but the fried jalapeños were good. The coconut shrimp were very good and I picked the vegetables and rice as my side. Overall, it was a pretty good dish and a large portion. The staff is friendly and the food arrived in a timely matter. They also have a large gift shop in the back. FYI: the address isn't right on Yelp for this. It's right across from the ferry port.

It was our favorite local food experience of our entire Caribbean cruise (not including Puerto…read moreRico). It's the original Pusser's British pub on Waterfront Drive in Road Town. The name is a slang for a British Navy officer known as a "Purser". One of the Pusser's daily tasks was to supply rum (a special Admiralty blend or "tot") to the sailors aboard the ship. The original recipe was somehow passed to the founder (Charles Tobias) in 1979. It still remains to be the closest to the original Naval recipe to date. Another fun fact is that this rum is actually a product of Guyana. Port Mourant double wooden pot stills are used to distill it. Most people will say that rum is rum. But hey, I can only tell you that there was definitely something special in that famous Pusser's Pain Killer. My husband even said it was the best rum drink he has ever had. Take that for what it's worth because we really don't drink that much. Ha! Jem was our bartender, and she was absolutely fantastic! So upbeat, warm, and friendly. She's everything that you'd want in a bartender. She explained the Pusser's Pain Killer numbering system. I was sold on the well-balanced No. 3. My husband went with the No. 4. I've had Pain Killers numerous times in my life. This was the best EVER! I don't know if it was the rum or the fresh grated nutmeg. Maybe it was the cream of coconut. I don't know, but I would have had a second one had we not had to walk back to the ship. If that's not enough to tempt you, then you must try their Conch Fritters. It has so much conch in it. More than any I've ever had. They are delicious! The firecracker dipping sauce made it even more special. The Bang! Bang! Gulf Shrimp were also pretty awesome. The batter was so much lighter than it looks in pictures. All in all, a great food and drink experience. We liked it so much that we decided to buy a couple of t-shirts in their branded clothing store. All 100% cotton! So comfy! We can't wait to return. We'll be back again in December if all goes well. It's such a great find within walking distance from the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier.
