Had a few appointments for eye exams here. All the Doctors here are very good and easy to deal with. The problem comes after your office visit and they try to pressure you into buying glasses or contacts here . They also went as far as putting a hold on ny VSP benefit when I only wanted an eye exam. I went to use my VSP plan at another eyewear provider and they said this fine office put an authorization hold on my benefits so that I could only use them at this provider. read more

I've been using this location for a number of years. Today was the worst. I had an appointment booked for 3:20; was there early. Called me in on time then made me sit and wait another 40 minutes. Had an eye infection; Dr. said she sent in prescription for eyedrops; pharmacy never received call. I called back twice; first girl said I'll relay message to doctor; called pharmacy 30 min later...no prescription. Called back to office, got answering service. Nice. Thanks for nothing. read more

I have had 3 different appointments with Dr. Sylvan, very nice but never on time. One time I waited 45 minutes after my appointment time just for a contact recheck so that I can order my contacts and I had to walk out because he was still 15 minutes behind, 2nd time coming back for my contact recheck to order contacts and have been sitting for 40 minutes. When an appointment time is given no one should have to wait more then 15 min, I understand things happen but I seems to happen every time I'm here. I will be finding a new eye Dr. After this set of contacts are ordered. read more

I only have appointments on the weekend because that is when Dr  Sylvan is there. He is a competent doctor that I had at the Hamden location. I had another doctor at the Hamden location who messed up my prescription. I ended up with weak glasses that I just use as reading glasses. The weekend staff is friendly and professional.  This location didn't really have many frames that I would want. I usually prefer Anne Klein frames and I didn't see anything that I liked on display but one of the employees told me that they had some stashed away.  When the employee in the frames area went to help me, she pretty much told me- I don't know why they told you that, there's nothing here that you would like. I would absolutely choose a much higher rating based on my most recent visit, but when I call the office during hours when they are open and CANNOT reach a human being and get caught up in a circular web of being referred to the website that's where they lose me. I needed an answer to a question about my Rx this morning and left a detailed message asking for a call back. That was six hours ago. Terrible customer service!! read more

I love this office. Dr. Capuano is the best, and I've seen a lot of eye dr.'s in my lifetime. She is thorough, patient, kind and professional. She will go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. The receptionists are always friendly, even when they're obviously beyond busy (which is frequent). The techs are really knowledgeable. I generally see Michelle who has probably helped me pick my glasses for the past 20 years. She nails my progressive line and glasses adjustments first try. Plus she's great at helping me decide on the right frame and it's never about the price, just knowing that I go for a specific, funky style and she also has a great sense of humor. I can't say enough great things about this office and the staff. Sure you can get cheaper frames/lenses from online places, but I've done that and it was a nightmare (took over 4 months to get my frames and they were bad) so I'll pay a bit extra for perfection and great service! People that complain about time to get their glasses need to realize this is everywhere since Covid, especially trying to order from cheaper online places. Blaming the dr.'s office for lengthy shipping times from manufacturer's is ridiculous and clearly out of their control. read more

The opticians were fabulous, and the front office staff is so helpful and polite. It is wonderful to experience such wonderful care and customer service. These days it is few and far between. Sadly after YEARS of going here I have to say that the service has gone down the drain. The doctors are great, eye wear techs very helpful but whatever lab they are using is pathetic. Lenses come in wrong, damaged and all they can say is "oh well, you have to wait and we will call you when they come in". Also it's problematic when your glasses come in because be prepared to wait in line to get them properly fitted and adjusted. Customer service is non existent. read more

Take my advice, and stay far away from this place. MyEyeDr is in the network for my insurance, and since I live about 10 minutes from this Cheshire, CT location, it was an easy pick. I called on a Tuesday and explained to the receptionist my reason for a visit (slight pain in my left eye, and difficulty focusing up close). She told me they could get me in that Saturday at 10am and to bring my insurance and ID. When I arrived at 10am on Saturday the woman behind the counter, very visibly annoyed, told me they had been trying to call me all week and they had to cancel my appointment. As it turns out, the original receptionist took my phone number down incorrectly. I run a pretty visible business in town, and had they performed a simple Google search for my name, they would have immediately found my cell number. I told them I would like to be seen, and, after a discussion with the doctor down the hall, I was told he "would be willing to fit me in" but they could not tell me when (would it be an hour? 3? 5?) and they could not tell me how much it would cost, or whether or not my insurance would cover the exam. Another woman joined in the conversation, and both of them were extremely rude to me, and openly annoyed that I was even there. This was honestly my mistake. Don't trust your health care to a chain. Take your money and time elsewhere. I wish I could give zero stars. I'm looking forward to a thorough conversation with their corporate offices on Monday morning. read more

I want to start off by saying that I don't like to leave negative review, but the unprofessionalism in this office is just mind blowing. The doctors are ok, and there is one woman that work the front desk that is great, but the rest of the staff and the "manager" ruin the whole place. First I was talked out of the glasses that I wanted, so that they could sell me a more expensive pair. Then I went in to exchange contacts for my older, stronger prescription. I was told that I needed to set up an appointment to do so. in doing this, I had to wait another week. when I finally went in, I was left sitting for almost an hour. when the woman at the front desk asked me what I was waiting for. she said that I shouldn't need an appointment to exchange the contacts. the sales person that scheduled the app ran over and said that they had talked to the Dr and that the dr said I had to... LIE! How dare they lie right infront of me! the woman then asked the dr if he needed to see me and he said NO! she took the contacts and said she would have the manager get me the correct ones. I also asked for a call back from the manager. fast forward 3 weeks, still no contacts and still no call. I'm have called 4 times requesting a call back and nothing. very unprofessional! I will NOT be going back and I will make sure to let everyone I know not to use them! read more

Very shady. At first I was thrilled to be getting glasses that would have cost (out of pocket) $400+ for half that. Unfortunately, when I picked them up, they were NOT what I had paid for. I paid for Hi-Index lenses and got polycarbonate, which I SPECIFICALLY did not want due to my high Rx. Next, the warrantly scam....I was actually asked if I wanted it (My husband was not asked the following week - it was just added to his invoice without his knowledge). MY invoice showed I was charged $25 and coverage was "$99 & up", THEIR final invoice showed they charged me $15 and coverage was "under $99" - no offer to refund and no explanation of what the "warranty" would cover/exclude. Needless to say, I won't go back and would not recommend anyone else use this place. read more

The doctors are great. The office and staff since switching from Opticare are terrible. I've found a much better place that treats me with respect and doesn't make mistakes with my name, insurance and orders. No excuses when you are talking about eye health. read more

Let me just say that most of the staff at this location have been pleasant and helpful. The Doctor was fantastic and the exam was comprehensive. Scheduling the appointment at a convenient time was a breeze. However, I just went to pick up my new glasses and I do think that some of the front end staff need work on their customer service skills. I was greeted by a very pleasant gentleman who immediately went to retrieve my glasses while his co-worker was on the phone with what pretty obviously sounded like a personal call. He handed the glasses to her and I fullly expected someone to check to make sure the fit and lenses were correct, etc... as usual. Instead she continued her call and snapped at her co-worker to "give her the glasses"( her being me - the customer ). It wasn't until I said isn't someone going to check them with me to make sure they are right that she disconnected the call. She then made a nominal effort to shape them for a better fit but they don't still don't fit properly. it was so obvious that she did not want to assist me that I just left. I now either need to take additional time and gas to go back and have them adjusted by someone else or order new glasses online. Considering the ease, cost and availability of purchasing eyewear online, you would think that a company like MYEyeDr would do anything possible to ensure a pleasant experience. We changed to this office after having to leave our previous doctors because of a change in insurance. Oven been happy with office staff and doctors. They explain things and even though it's quick, when I ask for clarification I get it. My biggest complaint is wait times. We are never seen on time or even within a few minutes of our appointment time. It's always at least a half hour late and often longer than that. If you have lots of free time, they're fine but if you're busy and like to stay on schedule, this is not the office for you. read more

The front desks only put you on hold and after 5 minutes - if not hanging up on you - you will reach someone. Don't think the Dr was as knowledgeable- received my lenses and not comfortable- after paying $400- I will just go to LensCrafters and have them re-done!!! This is either formally opticare or optimum care and it's the worst place I have ever been to! The doctor was mean and unfriendly and gave me a very strong eye prescription that I didn't use. I believe my eyes would be worse if I actually used the prescription eye glasses given. Terrible service over worked staff and doctors do not have good bedside manner. I would not recommend going here at all because I did not feel comfortable here. If I could give no stars I would. Never ever will I go back. I love the staff at this MyEyeDr location! Everyone was so professional yet fun at the same time. Everyone that I spoke to took an interest in me and my needs. They followed up with me prior to my appointment to verify my insurance, to avoid any frustration in the office which I thought was great. they also call, text, and email to remind you of your appointment. the doctor took the time to really explain why I've been experiencing certain symptoms and to help me explore my options to help treat some of my concerns. and they had no problem sharing my prescription with me and the sizing needed just in case I wanted to order glasses online as well as in store. I was at first skeptical of MyEyeDr because this location was previously OptiCare, but there is no need to fear here. I am a thoroughly satisfied customer. read more
