Hunter was exceptionally accommodating and got me from the waiting room to the doctor's office in no time. Dr. McClain is a no frills, straight to the point guy -- incredibly thoughtful, too. The phone staff is awesome, especially Addison. Thank god there is no automated system...this is where Urban Optics goes above and beyond. The contact fitting went super well (once again thanks to Hunter) and I'm loving the dailies Dr. McClain picked out. There are no hidden costs here -- everything is upfront and clear. I never felt as if I was being price gouged. I even got a $3,000 eye drop prescription for $0 (thanks to the doc and my insurance). I'm happy to call this place my favorite optometry practice! However, I'm an idiot and the appointment wasn't for this afternoon. But they didn't care. They take walk ins so they just changed it right there for me. Performed exam, didn't try to shill fancy lenses/frames, and replaced them right into my current frames just as I asked. Even tightened up the screws on my frames too. Took under an hour and a half, start to finish (including writing this review). Staff was so helpful and nice and patient. Talked about the World Cup with the tech giving me the exam (can't remember her name), including about El Tri's big goal against South Korea the other night. If Stanton gives bonuses, get her one of the black El Tri kits with the tricolor on the shoulders. Will for real go to Stanton Optical every time now, great experience.

I know it's inexpensive place, but these aren't even average quality frames. Dr. Lauer who I was told, was here forever and everyone that we dealt with are super friendly and made this visit comfortable. After we got our prescription, we went next door where we met with Amanda (I really hope that's her name lol). She was super friendly, patient, and informational. We're normally used to getting the Oakley brand, but they don't carry the brand. They do have a huge selection of choices and name brands for both men and females. My son and I chose this our glasses and we didn't have to pay for anything because the VSP insurance is awesome. I definitely recommend coming here. This place is located in the Post Oak Mall across the Casa Olé Mexican restaurant. The parking lot is huge so you shouldn't have any problems.

I would never, under any circumstances do business with this place - I've never had good luck with Visionworks customer service (try calling their 1-800 number and see if anyone ever answers) and their manager doesn't belong anywhere near customers. Scheduled my annual free eye exam (covered by my insurance). Told before exam I needed to have a…read more"refraction test" ($89 extra) and a "OCT Nerve" test ($110 extra) and a "EB Sight Sync" test ($49 extra). Was told that $68 of these tests would not be covered by my insurance. After my exam I was told that I still owe $149 out-of-pocket. Also, I was prescribed new lenses for $695. For the prior two years my insurance covered my lenses but now their new lab supposedly does not take my insurance. Was never told this prior to my exam knowing what insurance I have. Got a better quality lens for $168 out-of-pocket at Walmart Vision Center. My appointment was at 1:30. Actually saw the doctor at 2:45, and then spent another hour discussing and arguing about the charges and insurance coverage. This was a terrible experience and I will not be going back there again. Make sure you discuss all costs and have your insurance evaluated before going there! I think they push unnecessary charges also.

I used…read moreto go to Scott and White but couldn't get in for like 3 months out after COVID so tried America's Best. They had some temp optometrists for a couple of years (when I went) that I contemplated going back to Scott and White. Then Dr. Lamb came and the entire place turned into a gem. She is upbeat and positive and most of all listens to her patients. She's patient and let me come back and tweak my contact lens's prescription which other doctors don't like to do as I need both far and near vision correction with a touch of astigmatism. I've also noticed a change in staff attitude, too. They are all now friendly and super helpful. Hannah in particular is a super associate - she is always very knowledgeable and helpful but today she saved my day when I got red eye and needed some problem solving before my international trip tomorrow. My husband got his glasses with them too and had similar great experience.

8.29.24 Picking up my new glasses…read more I came in and picked up my 3 new pairs of glasses. 2 prescription sunglasses - 1 Rayban and the other DKNY and some regular glasses I use for night driving. I am one of those people who actually uses the glass cases and the cleaning cloth. The Rayban pair came with a nice case but the DKNY pair did not. I was a little disappointed in that. They said they do not even send them any. That's lame. All in all, good service. So far I am very happy with all my glasses. I would recommend them.
