    Dr. Thomas is a great. He's been there for a while, is highly skilled and personable. The gentleman selling glasses is great. However, the front desk staff here are horrible at maintaining appointments and will attempt to gas-light clients. The way they choose to handle the booking system isn't logical. I literally got there the day of and they told me my appointment was cancelled and given to another person because I "booked online and didn't confirm it by phone". I had no texts to confirm or be cancelled. No emails, zero notification of the "confirm or be cancelled policy". The young lady said that she called me twice and left a "personalized" voicemail. I literally showed them my voicemail box where I had two automated messages (none from a human) from a NC number saying "this is an appointment REMINDER; if you need to reschedule your appointment call to reschedule." I played the voicemail on speaker and showed them all of my voicemails. The answer I got after I had offered suggestions was "Well, lots of people kept making appointments online from fake accounts and my dental office makes people confirm by phone". Um...what? I'm positive that office has to have a disclosure. Come on guys, you should know the wording of the automated voicemails being left use "appointment reminder; call in to reschedule" and take accountability for the miscommunication. Furthermore, what's the point of online booking if you still have to call in to confirm you're a human? Gentle suggestion: take away online booking and make people call in to schedule their appointments -or- make people put a card on file and implement a no show fee -or- make people answer one of those picture grids with the bicycles to prove they're not a robot. Have there be a pop-up disclosure--**at the time of booking*---that any online appointments not confirmed by phone within 24 hours will be cancelled automatically. There are a million and one ways to fix this to help make the process smoother for patients who have been coming here for years. Makes zero sense to penalize the people who take time to actually show up for their appointments. The result of the front desk staff not being able to figure these things out is that the customers get poor service and the Doctor becomes double booked. Something needs to be fixed.

    My eyes have given me 38 years of solid service, but a few weeks ago I decided it might be worth giving them a check up all the same. This location is close to me and seemed easy to book. I was greeted pleasantly and attended to in a timely fashion. However, the best part of the experience was Dr. Daniel Thomas. He was welcoming and very friendly. He went through a wide variety of health related questions with me and was very throughout. The experience gave me a lot of confidence in his competence. My eyes are good for now, but later when they are not so good, I know where I will be going. Thank you for the good experience all around!

We were both happy with what she did, and how everything was explained clearly. Prescription eyewear selection followed and that was fairly smooth as well. I thought the frames selection was somewhat limited but I don't have anything to compare to currently. Overall happy with everything, and will return in the future.

They had her email but the manager lied, saying they don't email and emails are automated, I've emailed them info before and they've used it right there. No apology, no effort to squeeze us in, even though I had insurance details ready. Receptionist shrugged it off like it was nothing, and the office manager acted annoyed, prioritizing other patients while dismissing us. When she finally said to the receptionist to just reschedule, she walked away mid-conversation. As we left, declaring we'd never return, the receptionists looked at each other and literally laughed at us. Zero customer service or empathy, avoid this place if you value your time. And from the looks of the review history, I'm not the first one with their "great customer service"

She was very attentive and patient as I tried and retried different pairs of glasses. Because she was paying attention during our chat, she remembered everything and found the PERFECT pair of glasses. I actually bought two pairs because I needed glasses for just computer work. I was notified when they were ready and made an appointment to come in and check them out. Again, she spent time with me to perfectly adjust each pair. I couldn't be happier with these glasses. The lenses are of a much higher quality than what you'd get at Lenscrafters, and it's really noticeable in the clarity of the glass. I tend to be a little rough on my glasses, but they have been perfectly fine, and extremely comfortable. The prices are a little bit higher, but with the attention to detail and the overall quality of the glasses is sooo worth it! You get what you paid for. I will gladly return for my next pair!

How could it be a customer's responsibility/must-do thing to call a doctor's office after every visit to check the balance due (especially I already paid what the office asked me to pay before I left)? If in this logic, does it mean I must initiatively and proactively call to all the doctors to confirm if there're any due balances after all my visits, otherwise it'll be my fault?! After back and forth on who said what, I tried to pull the conversation back to the main point - why is there a balance due in your system that I'm totally unaware of? I don't understand If something really went wrong, should the representative be patiently explaining the situation to the customer firstly and then discuss in details? I'm very upsetting about the way of communication that Dr Hollier's front desk used. I feel very offended. I am admittedly picky about eyewear; The frames as well as the lenses. tl;dr- Eyes on Norbeck, and Raul specifically, are a 5 star experience! I purchased every day frames and lenses as well as a pair of prescription sunglasses. Not only did they have unique eyewear and quality lenses, they are a preferred provider in network with my vision insurance! I no longer have to go anywhere else when the time comes for me to look for new eyewear and lenses to go with it! Continue reading if you want the longer review! For years I went to a locally owned eyewear boutique, but after Covid, the shop was sold and their inventory was no longer unique or the high-quality of the previous owners. So I was on the hunt for a new place to purchase eyewear. I had already gone to several places in Washington DC and Northern Virginia and found that while some of the places had wonderful eyewear, they did not accept insurance and my out of network benefits would make purchasing eyewear a $4000 endeavor. Again because I am picky and have a penchant for I wear that is not mass produced. Add to that, I was also searching for an optical shop, where I would feel confident that my eyewear fit me properly, that the lenses were high-quality, and the person helping me select frames understood their inventory and had expertise in what they were offering. Enter Raul and all of the staff at Eyes on Norbeck! Upon walking in, you are created warmly and feel very comfortable. The shop has excellent lighting on the inside and nice big windows which bring in natural light. This is a big deal because lighting matters a lot when it comes to vision as well as the look and feel of eyewear. Immediately I knew I was in a place that cared a lot about vision. The selection of frames are unique and designer, yet reasonably priced. If I were to guess why they're pricing is so much more reasonable it would be because they maintain a regular clientele who are not only repeat customers, but bring in friends and family who also become regular clientele. Such was the case with me. One of my friends recommended the shop to me and I am so glad she did. Upon arrival, Raul gave my friend a big hug and he welcomed to me warmly as well. I explained what I was looking for and provided my prescription. Raul asked clarifying questions and made honest recommendations which included knowledgeable feedback on the frames and the fit. I had not made an appointment as I wasn't getting my eyes examined so I fully expected Raul to either take limited time with me or suggest I make an appointment and come back. I was wrong on both accounts Raul immediately, but without rushing, brought me around the store and we selected a few frames together. His expertise helped me not to feel overwhelmed and he very patiently, with a great sense of humor, brought me to making a decision on my eyewear that I feel 100% met my needs. Having worn glasses for over 30 years, and visited many places that sell eyewear, Eyes on Norbeck, and of course Raul, are a 5 star experience!
