I admit that it has taken me a while to post this review because it's a positive one and I'm not as fired up as I'd be if I wanted to gritch. That being said, I do concur with Heather C. that there seemed to be more employees than necessary at the place when I was there mid-afternoon. In my case they weren't overly-friendly, but they got the job done. I didn't know I could push back on the price of the retina picture since that's not covered by insurance . . . I've been seeing Dr. Bleakley for over 30 years and have followed him from his private practice in Reston through his associations with various chain stores. I "lost" him for a while until I walked through the Dulles Mall and found him there, grateful for the chance to reconnect as I wasn't at all happy with the previous place where I saw him. He did a great job informing his patients this time about his new affiliation with MyEyeDr in Sterling. The General Manager, JaDene Blend, treated me exceptionally well. After my checkup, I asked for a hard copy Rx for my records which was quickly provided. I was going to go to Costco for my contacts. JaDane told me that MyEyeDr has a price-matching policy and she called Costco while I was sitting there to confirm their prices. This was all submitted to my insurance company for me. (I only regret not going to Costco because the purchase would have counted toward my Executive Member cash rebate.) Now it gets even better . . . 1. My occasional-wear eyeglasses are old but are OK for the time I use them: when giving my eyes a break between long-term disposable contact lens wear. These eyeglasses have *never* been comfortable, always giving me a headache even though I got smaller lenses to reduce weight. I had them adjusted several times at the place I bought them (Dr. Bleakley's last association in the Dulles Mall), but I continued to hate them. JaDene examined how the old glasses fit me (again, they aren't a product of her store or any other MyEyeDr), remarked that "no wonder" they were uncomfortable, and proceeded to fuss and tweak them until she was satisfied that they fit the way they should. I don't wear them much, but they are much more tolerable. 2. After I left the store to run errands in the area, I found a postcard I put in my car that said I could get a free pair of sunglasses since my checkup was before the expiration of the offer. I circled back to MyEyeDr on the way home and showed the postcard, thinking the free offer might be a small step up from the dollar store sunglasses I accumulate. I was shown to a wall of *very* nice sunglasses, better than any I ever owned in my life. Still in disbelief at the high quality for "free," I chose a pair I was jazzed about. JaDene got me a matching hard case out of stock and then she spent some *more* time fussing and tweaking them to fit me! I know all patients won't have the free sunglass offer and that's not why I chose this store. But I was pleased with the attention to detail and fit for my old eyeglasses and blown away by the fitting of my free sunglasses. The invitation stands to come in at any time to have either of them adjusted at no cost. read more

This was the best experience in an Eye care center I've ever had! The atmosphere here is wonderful and welcoming! Everyone is so kind and ready to answer any questions; super knowledgeable! They made me feel so comfortable and more able to understand each process of my eye health/prescription. Anne or Anna ( sorry I got your name wrong) is truly pleasant! Dr. Nguyen is very thorough with her eye examination! This visit has out shinned any other doctor visit I've ever had! When it came time to select a pair of glasses, Heather had the most awesome patience with me on a personal level. I'm a difficult person to deal with ( I can't make up my mind about things easily)! She really gave me a wonderful customer service experience! I will continue to come to this location always! I've already recommended the location to several friends and family members! I am beyond satisfied! If you are looking for a new place for your eye care and wear please give them a call! You won't regret it ever! The best choice out there! I was somewhat nervous about my eye appointment as a I always am about doctor's visits in general but I had a great experience here. Dr. Bleakley was very friendly and informative. The sales woman who helped me pick out frames was very helpful and honest about what looked good on me and what didn't. She even used her phone to take pictures of me so I could see for myself how they looked with my glasses on as I couldn't really see otherwise. When you call to make an appointment they suggest that you go to myeyedr.com to fill out the paperwork online before your appointment which is what I did and I highly recommend doing so as it's always a drag to fill out paperwork by hand. I also showed up for my appointment on time and the wait time was just about 10 minutes. That's fairly good for any appointment. read more

First time I stepped into the store I was greeted with a welcome feeling. As I was a walk in, the staff accommodate me for my needs to get an eye exam. I was told that my insurance covered my exam and my eye glasses. Then later on I was being assisted by two employees one was Bertha, the other was Jadene. They suggested which glasses that will fit my daily needs. I was satisfied and happy with the service of sterling employees. i woulld recommend anyone to go. I tried to go to the reston establishment, however no one greeted me and I felt intimidated by the front desk, I think her name was Ann Marie, i believe..folks try sterling they are great staff, however I felt that they were short staff, but they did their best to help, the corporate office should give them more employees to work. read more

I took my 3 daughters to the eye doctor for their annual exam and was surprised with the great service we received. My daughters are 15, 10, and 8; so the idea of picking out glasses for 3 girls was nerve racking. Heather helped each daughter with patience and care. I was surprised. Anna was a joy to be around. The entire office, including the doctor, were professional and supportive of us. It was a great visit. I will recommend them to my friends and family. read more

After delay of 3 weeks for glasses which were out of stock when ordering, they gave me a $50.00 discount. The delay was circumstances beyond their control and phone me telling me glasses were in after I has cancelled order. Overall apart from delay they are a good shop. read more
