    Among the best and the worst under the same roof…read more A friend recommend Dr Luu and from my experience, yes Dr Luu is top shelf; also been examined by Dr Yoakum, both are among the best optometrists - very thorough and professional. However the eyeglass side of the business managed by Tracy Charrette is the worst I have experienced - definitely the most unprofessional managment staff of a supposedly professional profession experience in my lifetime. Both my wife and I purchased eye glasses and after three return visits by me and four for my wife, the eyeglasses are not useable, both of us are using our previous prescription eyeglasses purchased prior to our move to Raleigh. She has no respect for our time or expectations for a usable pair of eyeglasses. Spent just south of $1,000 (plus insurance contribution) for two pair of glasses, for myself and my wife. The office declined to offer a refund after our 3 & 4 return visits. As an owner of a professional business myself I cannot imagine treating a client as such. Hindsight, I wish I would have read reviews of this office as I see many others have had similar experiences. Shameful - simply cannot not support such On the bright side - wife's eyeglasses were Maui Jims and manufacture offered assistance.

This business was highly recommended which is why I decided to book. They were able to see me within a couple weeks of when I initially called. There were no issues and the young girl over the phone was curious and honest when I asked a question she didn't know, she followed through and called me back when she said she would. Service: Value: without vision insurance, the prices for their glasses and services are quite high. Not that I've checked other places for prices- I'm assuming since the pandemic, the ophthalmology field is not exempt to rising prices for services and products. Example: Banana Republic Frames $249 Insurance covers $150 and 20% of remaining cost Co-pay: $15-$25 Lenses: Single focal lens covered under insurance Total cost: $79 rounded without co-pay Don't be fooled by the other reviews. Remember to only factor in the things that this business can control. In all encounters, I've experienced nothing but pleasant interactions. They remember your name, they smile, and go beyond when they are able. Give them a chance!

As soon as I checked in I was told that I would have to reschedule due to my child not being allowed back for my appt. I've never been turned away from an appt I was paying for due to my small child not being allowed. The office admin was also quite rude. Nevertheless I will be finding a new eye doctor for my family. I like Dr. Loftin but these poor office management choices will lose clients.

    I had been going to this practice for several years when they purchased Adler Optometry in Chapel…read moreHill. I have always had a good experience with the optometrists but have had issues with the opticians the past two years. Last year, my prescription was changed such that all the negative powers were entered as positive and vice versa. I had only discovered the problem after picking up the glasses late one Saturday afternoon and had to have the lenses remade once they figured out what the error was. This year, I went in and found out that they no longer supply Essilor lenses and coatings which are my preference. This is because I used to work for the company that makes the equipment that Essilor uses to put coatings on their lenses so I am well aware of the quality of Essilor's lenses and coatings. I was a bit hesitant but decided to get glasses anyway since I was there. They came in about 10 days later but I received a message that they didn't pass a quality check and they were being sent back to be remade. I got the final pair about 2 weeks later. I had only worn them 3 or 4 times when I noticed a small smudge in the corner about 2 weeks after that. I tried removing it with the cloth provided, then with the cloth and water, and finally with lens cleaning spray, always with the lens cloth. Since it wasn't coming off, I took it in thinking they could get it off but they said it was a scratch. To be fair, I did not have the scratch warranty as I've had glasses for 45 years and never had an issue and having worked in the business am aware how to care for them. To me, it seemed like a defect. The optician's exact words were, "Well, you didn't purchase the warranty so there's nothing we can do. Have a good day." And then she walked away. Well, I'm walking away from this business.
