Luckily the bus had returned to bring passengers for the next cruise out and we were able to ride back to the airport with him. I will say the Tampa Port for Carnival S.U.C.K.S. and the cruise itself was, well, lets just say I expected everyone to have mullets and be missing the majority of their teeth. And the customer service is just as special as the place itself. We had a small hiccup this trip, and that's when we had the pleasure of meeting Chrissy at the front desk. I was really disappointed that our reservation and room weren't up to par, but I called and she took immediate action. She not only took care of the issue, she genuinely helped make our stay better. She was so kind to my family and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. She is incredible. I only hope that when we come back next summer, we get the pleasure of having Chrissy there again, honestly, It's people like her who make us love this place so much. The amenities here are priceless, but more than anything, we love the feeling this place gives us. It's truly the best place we've stayed in all of Florida. It doesn't just feel like a vacation, it feels cozy, warm, and familiar, almost like we're with family. The rooms were sparkling clean with more than enough room for my dog's crate and my luggage. The bathrooms were bright and I liked the rainfall shower with awesome water pressure. The location made it really easy to explore the area. There was a really cute dog park only 10 minutes drive away. The water views next to the hotel were also great and nice to stroll in the evening when I arrived and the next morning. I would happily stay here with my dog again.

Kyle at the front desk was very nice, explained everything we needed to know about using our day pass, and got us on our way. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the beach that's also included with the day pass, which was a nice benefit. There are towels located right before you go out to the pool area. A guest who was staying here also said you can fish right off the canal and go out on kayaks and paddle boards. The food and beverages were decent enough, and not ridiculously overpriced. The pool was a little chilly, but felt great when I needed a quick dip. Would consider staying here on vacation instead of just getting a day pass.

I booked a grand suite and it was very nice. Yes, it's showing its age but I'm more concerned about cleanliness. My cabin steward, Paul, did an excellent job. Loved the towel animals. It had a balcony but it's old so the wall is high. You can't see over the ledge if laying down on the sun lounger. It's a big balcony. My only complaint is it's not covered. I was out during the sail away party and the people in the pool deck were hanging their drinks over the railing. I was nervous someone could throw something and land on the me or the balcony. The suite has a separate living room and bedroom. Very nice size! The bathroom is big for a cruise ship - jacuzzi tub and stand up shower. The food isn't bad. I went to JWB Steakhouse one night. It's an extra fee to eat here. I don't think it's necessarily worth it but you get a lot of food. I ordered the ribeye. I like my steak rare and the meat cut is too thin to get it rare to my liking. The seasoning was good. You get an appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and dessert. The shrimp cocktail was good. I absolutely loved the onion soup. Steak was just ok. And I was too full for dessert. The buffet has a lot of good choices. I wish Cheeseburger in Paradise offered a turkey burger. Some things on the buffet are better than others. The reubens at the sandwich station are awesome. I got one with turkey and it was also delicious. Fins, the main dining room, is hit or miss for me. They post the nightly menus outside of the restaurant so you can pick and choose what nights you want to go by the choices. They don't switch up the menus so if you got often it's the same thing. The standouts for me were the hearts of palm appetizer and the curry shrimp entree. The mushroom rotini wasn't bad either. The sauce was thin. I thought the key lime sponge cake dessert was too sweet. Crazy sweet. Disembarkation was a cluster you know what as usual. Not a lot of direction - especially when people don't follow the order to get off! Suites are supposed to get priority after ADA but so many people clog the elevators and hallways. But you can technically be off the ship and in your car by 8:30/9 if all goes well. The casino has a decent variety of slots and tables. Free drinks while gambling but the servers tend to favor the tables. If you have the drink package, it's a quick walk to the bar to get your own. I had to do that several times. On each sailing, they have a veteran's ceremony. They recognize all the veterans on board and the cruise director speaks. It's very nice and one of the things that sets this ship apart from others. Lots of reading lights and plug ins for chargers. Temperature of the room fluctuates a lot- sometimes too hot and sometimes too cold. There's a thermostat but it seems I'm not really in control of it? Bathroom has separate tub and shower stall. Large counter for toiletries. The towels are super plush! Not 100% cotton but they're soft and not overwashed. Very nice. The shower needs more water pressure. Also could be a little hotter. There is a small mini fridge but I found that it does not get very cold at all. It doesn't even have a top freezer. So I'd recommend bringing a cooler. There's an ice machine down the hall which I've been using to keep my food/snacks/drinks cold, in a yeti cooler. There is a one cup keurig and they have Folgers and decaf as well as tea. I didn't use it. They don't provide bottled water for it, so bring your own or use the sink. I used the microwave; I was glad to have that. I enjoyed sitting on the couch and enjoying the view outside. The curtains are total blackout and they cover the windows completely. I love that! They also have sheer curtains to allow the sunlight but maintain privacy. THERE IS NO POOL. THERE IS NO GYM. DISREGARD PHOTOS OF THE POOL AND GYM- THEY NO LONGER EXIST. The pool area has been turned into a rooftop bar. Service up there is great. Views are nice, drinks are good. They have a decent menu- it's called perch 360. There was a one man band up there with a keyboard and saxophone. I was entertained. The lobby restaurant I did not visit but there were people having happy hour or early dinner every time I came back around 5:30-630 so it must be popular. It's called 88 keys and I heard a piano playing in there this evening. Parking out back is plentiful and free. The side lot is for the marina and you will get towed at night. It has signs that say no overnight parking. So don't make that mistake. Dedicated smoking area behind the hotel. Entrance from the parking lot in the back with keycard. They have those wheeled carts for your luggage. Elevators are key card only so this place feels safe. Anyone can go up to the rooftop bar without a key though. Desk attendants aren't that friendly- no one greets you when you come and go. They have some flyers by the elevators for local maps and tourism info. They say it's a four star hotel- yet they don't offer very much- no included happy hour or welcome beverage in the lobby, no coffee/tea in the lobby. No turn down service. No bottled water. So- really no benefit to being here v across the street. I did not see any laundry facility here. The best part about the hotel is the location. You can walk to Marion street to enjoy many good restaurants or the other direction to the tiki bar. So I would stay here again because it's nice. But I'd like to have a hotel gym or pool and better service in the lobby. Update : water and coffee available in the lobby but it's kind of later in the morning.

As a lifetime diamond member, my husband was even able to check in a bit earlier than we expected. Staff has been very nice and accommodating throughout our stay, by the way. Friendly. Our room with its king size bed and sofa was large. We always take advantage of the in room fridge and microwave. It looks freshly painted and decorated. The large screen TV is huge! The bathroom has a tub shower combination with shower curtain. The toilet seat is small and low, however. Lots of fluffy towels. Breakfast is included. My least favorite combo was the meal the first day -- a whites only egg something with greasy sausage pieces that look like a hot dog chopped up. The second day was a bit better with an omelet and sausage patties. Luckily they have waffles, cold/hot cereal, and breads to toast... One positive was the free bottled water provided. This was a nice amenity. We chose the hotel for its convenience. We were in town to watch our great grandson play in an invitational baseball tournament. And the fields were not far away. I'd stay here again.
