If I could give them no stars, I would. We left our fur babies in their care for 6 days. We picked them up and they have both lost a considerable amount of weight. My parents were both very concerned as well as the entirety of my Facebook friends as I posted before and after pictures sharing my experience. I called them this morning and spoke with Laura who was helpful and told me that the stress of boarding can cause them to lose weight and sometimes it's necessary to up their food intake while they're being boarded. That's all great, but if that was the case, why weren't we called to authorize them upping the food? I spoke with Alex who took care of them for part of their stay. She also told me she noticed they were losing weight and was surprised by it. She has only worked there a couple of weeks so I hold the establishment accountable as opposed to her because the poor training is really the problem. Once she told me she hasn't worked there long, I asked to speak with the owner who had just stepped out so Alex took my number and said the owner would call me back. That was at 11:30 this morning I just went in there after work (5:30pm) and was able to speak to the owner. She first told me that Laura's information was false and upping their food intake wasn't necessary. She then told me that the only explanation was a parasite. So her establishment must've given them the parasite because they were healthy and happy dogs when they went in, and now their ribs and hip bones are sticking out. Even if it was due to a parasite and wasn't their fault, I still don't understand why we weren't contacted. If your staff is telling me that they noticed the substantial weight loss and it was worrisome, why wasn't I or my emergency contact called so we could figure something else out. The way it appears is that the owner is just in it for the money. Boarding dogs is very pricey and I would hope that for the price we would at least get a phone call if something is wrong. But according to the owner, since they weren't vomiting or having diarrhea, they didn't call. I can understand the fact they were very busy as we boarded them over Thanksgiving. But if they can't handle a full kennel, they should figure out solutions such as less dogs or more staff. I am incredibly disappointed in how my dogs look and even more disappointed that the owner looked me in the eyes and told me she saw no difference from when they came in. I find it hard to believe that everyone else is concerned with their health and well-being while she makes excuses and tries to say there's been no difference. Next time I'll be spending the extra money for a room with a camera at a different kennel and I strongly suggest everyone else do the same.

Thank goodness for Muddy Paws! My pup Thor has never looked better! I decided to try out their…read moreservices upon being referred by a friend who also had a cocker spaniel. After a haircut gone wrong from another groomer in the area, I was weary of letting anyone else handle Thor... But I went ahead and made an appointment at Muddy Paws anyway. When I first walked into MP, I was quite taken aback--in a good way though! When dropping off your dog to be groomed, they let the pups roam around freely throughout the office. Whereas Thor usually gets pretty nervous when ever I've left him at other groomers, he got comfortable almost immediately. In addition, the staff at MP are extremely attentive and caring towards the dogs. When I came back to pick up Thor, he was so busy playing with the receptionist, he didn't even notice I had walked in! I will definitely return! Muddy Paws does not disappoint in the slightest. Plus, their prices are super affordable! Have no fear! Your doggies are in good hands.

I drove 2 hours to make it. I asked for a TRIM on his paws & butt. Here we are 10 years later & I took my husky who got completely botched. I'm going to drop the photos here for everyone to review & make their own decisions. I know hair will grow back but this shows the "expertise" of the groomer. I know this review may do no good to the owner whose response to criticism has been quite colorful to say the least, but I do know that in a small town word travels faster than wildfire & I plan to take my botched pup to every local place to show off his "muddy paws look". Woodstock here we come. Hey may be we can get a shirt to really make the look?

She relies on my voice to calm her and I wanted to be nearby at least at first. This isn't something the nearest groomers would allow, so a mobile groomer seemed ideal. I decided to give a spa day to my second dog at the same time, in part because I wanted to make it worthwhile for this company to come to my house. My second dog doesn't like other dogs so we avoid situations like a groomer's. It was a wonderful experience for all three of us. The groomer had been a vet tech and she sincerely liked my girls. My blind dog, who is shy, trusted her right away and that's unusual. She was sensitive to their personalities and needs and so gentle (yet effective) with them. The groomer was really able to focus on each dog and personalize the grooming experience to them. For example, one dog was afraid of the blow dryer so she skipped that. She was sensitive to their needs, and that, as well as having the van come right to our house, was well worth the cost. I'm so pleased to find a service like this in Humboldt. I'm from Honolulu and we didn't even have one there. My special needs rescue dogs have endured a lot and it gives me great pleasure to treat them well and support people who do the same. I also got a big kick out of the bows on their collars after they were bathed. Generally I see little fluffy dogs with them after grooming. My sweet girls, although vastly different from expensive purebreds, looked even better. I hope this business is successful as I look forward to utilizing their helpful expertise again. Thank you, Bubble Buddies, for treating my dogs with respect and kindness, and giving them a positive grooming experience in a safe environment.

I would definitely recommend Mel and Bubble Buddies!

I've since started to shop at fin n feather and have had a much better experience so far. Tonight I decided to give it another chance and pop in for some crickets and a bag of kitty litter since the other pet store was closed. I was turned away and told that they don't do "animal sales" an hour from closing time (I think I was there 30min before closing btw) I asked "even feeder crickets?" I was in such disbelief, I thought she was joking at first, it's such a dumb rule. I've never heard that in my 3 years of shopping there. I remained polite but grabbed the cat food bag and hustled out of the store. When I looked at the receipt this morning, they had charged my account $108.61 ! I called the store and asked about it. They said I would have to come in in person to get my refund. The store is 2 hours away! I had given my name at the beginning of the telephone call. They had my id through my phone number, but they wouldn't refund me for the aquarium equipment they thought I had purchased. I don't have an aquarium! I'll go back to get my refund, but I won't be shopping there again. Look at your receipts before you leave this store!
