I love this place! I've gotten my eyebrow(twice), my septum, and my nostril here. I've brought multiple friends who've gotten lobes, nostril, navel, septum, industrial, and a tattoo here as well. They are straight to the point, very informative, and get you in and out. All the reviews that say they have poor customer service are just sensitive because they aren't an extremely bubbly staff. DONT COME HERE!!!! I walked in for a double nostril piercing on my birthday, and they absolutely butchered it. Not only are the piercings at incorrect angles, they are completely crooked. As soon as I left, I noticed the crookedness and got a consult with a different piercing shop two days after. They informed me that there was nothing correct about my piercings, and that because of the angle they would not only have a hard time healing, but they were so high up I wouldn't be able to put rings in. In order to have a decent piercing I have to take these out completely and have it redone at my own cost. On top of the shitty piercing, before I even got it, they overcharged my card by $150 on top of the $80 I was paying and they didn't apologize and had a BS "shit happens" attitude about it just told me to wait for four days for it to come back!??Don't waste your money!!! Edit: THEY REFUSED A REFUND BC OF "SHOP POLICY" and told me to contact their owner on Facebook, when I did so I was BLOCKED. read more

I came in and asked for a hearing and then asked if they happened to do bday discounts, he responded "it's everyone birthday every day" and was very dismissive. as a NEW costumer, i believe every deserves to be treated with respect, and this experience has most certainly impacted my view of this establishment. i hope that management can take this feedback seriously and makes improvements to ensure that all costumers feel VALUED and RESPECTED. read more

I came here on November 23, 2019 with my friend so she could get a tattoo, and I decided that I wanted to get a piercing while we waited. I was asked if I wanted a piercing, I said yes and picked out my jewelry for a tragus. I've been to various shops to get different piercings and they all have different methods of doing it. Normally they clean/prep the area that's getting pierced, mark and ask if you like where it's placed and then proceed to pierce. In my experience, he cleaned the area and asked if i was ready to go. Initially I was very confused and wondered if he already marked it (he didn't). He pierced it freehand, put the jewelry in and let me go. I went home later that evening and noticed that it was off-center. I started to freak out and get upset, then I realized that I could just go back the next day and get it redone/fixed. On November 24, 2019 I went back to see if they could fix it and the piercer wasn't there. They said he wouldn't be there for another couple of days and I left. I decided the hassle of getting it fixed wasn't worth it, so I removed the jewelry. I had difficulties removing it because the jewelry they used was externally threaded, it kept getting caught in the hole and made it extremely painful. Normally I get push-fit jewelry but they didn't offer any nicer quality. I personally wouldn't recommend going here for piercings due to the quality of the jewelry and the process. I paid $35, pretty cheap for a professional piercing but I would save my money to go somewhere else with quali jewelry and a better experience. I've always had pleasant experiences here, but unfortunately the last two people I've sent here have had terrible experiences! My best friend got a crooked Medusa, and is still trying to figure out how to get it fixed, and my mother went in today and dealt with a rude front desk worker (nice enough piercer she said), but she felt very dejected perhaps because she wasn't their usual clientele. This was my favorite piercing place for years, but now I'm scared to send people here after having two people close to be having terrible experiences . Not to mention their card reader was down both times, and everyone was forced to use their atm to pull cash out. Overall, I'm disappointed now. read more

I had my nose done here a little over a year and a half ago and I have nothing bad to say. My piercing healed perfectly and fast. Even though they didn't have the color of jewelry I originally wanted(not a big deal)I never had any problems with it. Me and my friend came in to get matching tattoos, and not only was the first guy we talked to super rude, but then he dismissed us as if we were bothering him, to talk to a lady, who told us our tattoo we already have would "look like shit in a few years". If I could give this place a star lower than 1 I would I've literally have been waiting now for over an hour for a freaking noise piercing. I mean how long does it take to do a freaking piercing. I'm African American and I don't play the race card at all but I kid you not that it has been 3 white girls and two Mexicans that have been token care of and all of these females have came in after me. When I went to ask the big guy that answer the phone takes your money hand you paperwork and literately tells you to fill this shit out after I fill out the paperwork he tells me to go like I'm a dog. I ask him how long will it be he tells me at 5:30 that it will take 30-40 minutes. So an hour has past I went back to the desk because I see several people that has come in after me be seen before me and Ik tattoo takes way longer than a piercing, she tells me one person is ahead of me I was upset be glad that I was about to be seen. The way they have your paperwork posted she can tell if your next and guess what I wasn't next so I made it k own how I felt but not in a rude obnoxious way and asked if I could have a refund the big guy tells me no refunds my mother was with me and she also saw how everyone was coming in and out and I'm still sitting here over an hour and a half later so the big guy says very rude you want your money back come on and I had been waiting for that long I told him no I'm going to wait next person that was called was me it took less than 5 minutes for my piercing, the guy pierced my nose was very professional and nice other than that if I ever decide to get another piercing it wont be at mystical Illusions btw it's 7:50 and I just got my nose pierced read more

Terrible experience. My boyfriend and I called over a dozen places and drove all over the city to look for wood gauges so his holes wouldn't close up. We called them and some lady answered and was no help. She refused to get up and look to see if they had the size in bamboo that we were looking for so we ended up making a trip all the way there just to be treated like dirt by the manager himself. Tweety is his name I guess. We asked a few questions and he was answering all of our question in such a rude manner that I ended up just walking away. When I called and asked to speak with the manager it was "Tweety" and he kept arguing with me then didn't even really offer to make it up in anyway. As a manager you don't speak to customers that way. Unfortunately we HAD to buy something from them so my boyfriends ears would close up so they got our business but will never get it again. Don't go here if you want a friendly atmosphere. Plus they ended up not even having what we needed which would've been nice for the lady to check BEFORE making the special trip. I had an upsetting experience here about 8 years ago with a belly button piercing. They had let a new guy do it, he pierced it to deep & it never healed. It left a scar for awhile & I was pretty upset. I decided to give it another try when I got my tongue pierced & it went great. Recently they did a great job on my Tragus as well. Sometimes you get a bad first impression but I give everywhere a second chance & Im glad I did. They took care of me after my first bad experience. Now I come back here because they have good pricing, good service & they're quick. Regardless of previous reviews, I've never met any rude people here. But I also know as someone who has spent a lot of time in tattoo shops, if I walk into one I expect there to be more than a few smart asses in there. read more
