This is the WORST pedicure I have EVER gotten. I would not even call it a pedicure. I got a foot only rub and polish change which I could've done myself. Today a nail tech at Mystique Nails & Spa decided she was unhappy with the fact that I politely asked her to straighten one of my tips that she did a crooked and shitty job on a so she told me to glue it on myself. Then I just politely asked her to remove all of them because I could tell she clearly was upset that I asked anything of her. She didn't give me her name but told me she is the MANAGER. She gave me the owners number and I left a message. She charged me $10 to remove my previous shellac which I gave her - then she sent me out the door looking like this. I shit you not. DO NOT support this business if you can help it. I was treated like garbage and I AM A SALON OWNER, so OF ALL THE PEOPLE I was as nice as could be. UPDATE: while waiting in the parking lot for my sister to finish up - I stopped two customers from going inside and showed them my nails and they got back in their car and left. This was my first time trying out Mystique Nails on Poplar Level Rd. Located in a small shopping center where the recently closed Walmart resided, the salon is large, clean and on this Monday afternoon very quiet. I was the only one in the salon for the majority of the time I was receiving my pedicure and gel fill manicure. As I split my time between the north (Pennsylvania) and Germantown it will take a bit too get used to the differences in service. My pedicure was done well but was very basic. No long soak in the warm water, minimal for and leg massage and heel buffing was done with a hand powered rough cloth....not as thorough as the electric buffer and massages that I am accustomed. Found out they don't do liquid gel nails only acrylic so I had to be filled in with acrylic. Anthony did a nice job but my nails are not as perfectly smooth as they normally are when I have them done up north. Additionally I missed the hand massage that is customary up north as well. I made another appointment in two weeks with Anthony. The cost was the same as I am used to paying $25 for the pedicure and $40 for the fill and shellac. Upon my return I will ask Anthony to do a bit more buffing...I do believe we will make this work! read more

I just recently decided to get my eyebrows waxed there a WEEK ago and I had to have gotten chemical burn or something!! I still have red marks from getting my eyebrows waxed which has never happened to me before. They rip off nails, they're nasty to customers, they overcharge their advertised price at their own discretion, they tell you that you're being "difficult" if you don't want gel or Shula, they are more worried with getting you out quickly than doing a good job. I'm so lost as in why this place doesn't have above three stars. This place is inside a shopping center close to the neighborhood Walmart. So when I walk in I'm immediately greeted I sign in and she ask what I want. She brings me shellac colors. A huge bonus---- they have matching tow nail colors with the shellac colors. I sit for maybe 5 min and I'm taken to the pedicure chair. The woman that did my nails was extremely sweet. The same girl that greeted me asked if I wanted a complimentary drink ((( they do virgin daiquiris))) I'm pregnant so I was too excited when I got offered the drink. I got the strawberry daiquiri and it was pretty good. The lady did a wonderful job on my nails and toes. I feel absolutely terrible Bc I had to use the bathroom so bad so I made her completely rush. I've never done that in my life but normally I don't drink a full drink before I get my nails done since I know I use the bathroom 24/7 since I've been pregnant. So the total is 49$ LIKE YESSSSS that is so cheap compared to back at home. For pedicure and shellac polish - no manicure. this is my new go to place while I'm in Kentucky for sure read more

Have been going to them for years. Went Friday ,Oaks day to have my usual. I now have a nasty nail fungus . They said it was my fault. They refuse to take responsibility. I had to get antibiotics and anti-fungal cream. Afraid I may lose my whole fingernail. It is nasty !!!!!!!!! They are dirty !!!! So upset and they dont care about their customers, all they want is your money. They also took more money then they said it cost, ten dollars more to be exact. I will never go back there. I won a gift certificate for this place at a prom so I finally redeemed it today to get my nails did. I was quite impressed. The last time I was in that room it was a subpar coffee place and now it's a beautiful nail salon. They offered me a complimentary drink and then I was only there for one hour for a full set. After trying to find a nail salon for 2 months here in Louisville, I finally found the place I'll become a regular to. I've had 3 bad experiences in other salons & I'm happy to report that this one was definitely different in the best way possible! I called to make an appointment, but they don't take any unless you want a specific nail tech. So my sister & I walked in both for Pink & White refills. They were able to take me immediately and my sister in less than 10 minutes. Considering it was the day before thanksgiving I can't complain. They paid very close attention to detail and were actually quite quick. I guess if you're actually good at what you do it shouldn't take long! I have gotten a few here before with good results. Last night was not the case. The first chair they tried to set me up I looked down and the water bowl I was about to put my feet in had bugs floating in it. I got the attention of the manager who looked at it and tried to decide what he was going to do. He finally decided he was going to put me in another chair (and no apology). At this point I'm on high alert for cleanliness. I look around and start to really notice how dirty and worn out things look. Anyway. It takes twice as long as typical because there is only one tech. Not too bad so I went back and get a full set of acrylics by Anthony and if you go there just request him not to be rude but tbh the girls kinda suck at doing nails they can do repairs and they can give great pedicures but nails it's a no. I frequent Mystique nails probably every few months. I keep coming back for several reasons. One. The staff. The staff is always so nice and accommodating. You're greeted at the desk by a secretary of sorts who asks what you're looking to get done and then communicates with the techs. Unless you're going on Friday afternoon or Saturday, the wait is never too long. But they offer non alcoholic daiquiris and coladas and also have cokes and Sprite and all sorts of drinks.. Which is nice while you wait or while you relax getting your nails or toes done. Lilly is a gem and makes sure you are taken care of. The tech I prefer is Jenn. She is sweet and diligent and also very efficient. Im a quiet gal when I get my nails done and so is she.. So it's perfect! She also always helps me pick a color of I'm feeling indecisive, which is most of the time. Oh, and she does great eyebrow waxing ;) Two. Ambiance. Mystique has a great ambiance. It's Clean and still looks and feels new, even though they've been open for two years. They aways have enough nail techs, but they can accommodate large parties with their plethora of pedicure seats. They have two TVs that are never really "on" as in, they have the news on but the sound is never on which is nice.. But again, like I said I prefer quiet time while getting my nails done. There is also always a light faint of classical music in the background. Very pleasant. Three. Quality and hours. I always find myself here because they are one of very few nail salons open on Sunday's. It's definitely the closest and one of my favorites so that helps. But their hours are great. Their quality is also very nice. Prices are competitive with other salons, but they/ Jenn always does a good job at making my nails last. I tend to get full set gel manicure with gel polish. It lasts a good 2 weeks before needing a fill in. I'll probably be up there soon to get a fill in and color change. I've been going here for a while and the service is fine. It's a nice, clean environment and everyone is nice. For anything above and beyond very basic pedicure and manicure, you will definitely have to pay extra. I decided I would never return here again after arriving yesterday in a very big hurry. There were 2 people waiting and when I asked how long the wait was, I was told "not long at all." I asked if it would be less than 10 minutes. She said yes. 15 minutes later, I asked how much longer it would be. This time, she decided to ask someone in the back how long it would be. "almost done!" i was told. I asked if that meant 5 minutes or 20 minutes. After clarifying with the back, I was told 10 minutes, which I did not have time to wait another 10 minutes on top of the 15 I had already waited and the 5 minutes I stood in line just to get to the front desk. A few weekends ago a friend and I went to Mystique for a special treat after a particularly challenging coupe of weeks. Let me tell you, it was perfect. The prices were reasonable. I payed just $35 (prior to tipping) for a basic mani/pedi. They did a great job and were super nice. I have found in the past that some nail salons will rush through my pedicure if I only get the basic one. The ladies at Mystique took their time. Bonus: I am going on 1.5 weeks and my nails are still in fairly good shape. Some chipping on the edge, but nothing too terrible. That's really good for traditional nail polish. Even better bonus: You get free "smoothies" with any service. I got a virgin pina colada (no alcohol products are available) and it was SO GOOD. I would probably go in just to buy those smoothies if they'd sell me one. read more

I'm very very disappointed by the customer experience I received here. When I walked in, I showed the nail tech exactly what I was looking for- nude dip with a white design. He didn't say anything about price and carried on with my nails. As I was sitting there, about done with my dip, someone who had an appointment with him walked in. He finished my dip and told me he was done. I asked if he was going to do the nail design and he replied saying he was surprised I still wanted it and that if I did, it would be an additional $30. Please keep in mind that the dip was $37. I quickly asked why it was so high, and he said what I was looking for was too complicated(i am not a nail tech, but the design I was looking for was very very simple). I asked why the price was not communicated to me at the beginning, because I would have declined and gotten a different design. He was aware that I was getting my nails done for my bridal shower this weekend and did not seem to care about the situation that he put me in. Throughout my time getting my nails done, I also had to listen to his thoughts about me getting married and how I need to obey what my husband expects of me and that I should be prepared that my MIL and I will not have a good relationship since I am taking her son away from him. I have been going to this salon for well over a year now but after my last experience I will never step foot in this establishment ever again. I came in nearly 2 hours before closing time but was nothing but rushed my entire visit. My nail tech was very rude towards me. She snatched the color swatches from my hand, refused to file my nails the way i wanted, made snide comments towards me, along with other things. I would have gotten up and left but she made me pay for my service before even starting my shellac. She got angry with me because I couldn't sign my credit card slip with my left hand while she was working on my right hand.. I'm right handed. I felt obligated to tip her well so she would perform a good service on me. After finishing up the worst manicure and shellac I've ever been given she said the exact words, "okay. you can go." I love the tropical drinks they serve you while you are getting your nails done. It really helps set the mood! My nails look great when I get them done here. She refused to waive the cost and continues to say there will always be bubbles in their gel nails. That said, unless you like ugly nails with bubbles I recommend avoiding this chop shop! Went on a recommendation. Asked for the $28.00 set of acrylic nails. Somehow ended up with the Solar set for which I was charged 40.00. I have a BLOOD BLISTER on my index finger where the sander pinched me; some of the tips are crooked, I see bubbles under the surface. The entire surface of the nail is not covered with gel (it doesn't extend to the full sides of my nails) AND some of the 'finished" nails are shiny while others are dull. I am not happy with the results at all and when it was mentioned, was made to feel as if it was my fault and none of theirs, This is not a good way to run a business. I now have to go to a different salon to have them fix what this place messed up. $40.00 thrown down the drain. I will not be recommending Mystic Nails to my friends and coworkers. read more

I live in Houston tx and I've been to many nail salons before but I gotta say this is one of the nicest salons I've been to. The facility is tastefully decorated and super clean. I especially appreciated the fact that the instruments that were used on me were sterilized and came from a sterilization pouch. The ladies were super nice and my nails look great! I went with a friend to get a full set of acrylic nails here. Her experience with her technician was good. However, my experience was much different. I asked for almond shaped nails with the point at the end, and the technician complained that the shape was "too hard" and gave me some weird shape instead. I wanted white and she also had to tell me how she hated the colors white and black.. Because the mistakes she kept making could be visible on the skin. She was very haphazard and kept throwing files across the desk and was rushing beyond belief. Whenever I didn't move the way she wanted me to, she would swat at and force my hand and arm the way she wanted it. I felt like a child being punished and bossed around. When my debt card receipt came, she forced a pen at me and watched me like a hawk when giving a tip. I felt like if I didn't tip her, she would rip my nails off. Then she snatched the receipt away when I lifted my hand to sign my last name, so they just have a half signed receipt... I think your experience depends on your technician, and overall, mine was like a jail warden. A friend and I had been looking to find a place to get our nails done as a way to relax from school and found this place! It was the perfect way to reduce our stress! Not only were the nail services great, but all the employees were so nice! They actually held fun and engaging conversations with us, and to our surprise the salon owner was even on the technician floor doing nails! We were offered piña coladas upon our arrival and had a large variety of polishes to choose from. The salon was very clean and the tools they used were new out of a package for each customer. The services were priced a little higher than we were hoping for, but it was well worth it and we will be returning again! read more
