I recently came to The One 2 Escape Room with a friend. We both love escape rooms. Really to reinforce how smart we aren't. the Escape room itself was really great. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and you can tell they love working there. The place is decorated with lots of fun paintings and signs and is really set up to reinforce the good time they want you to have. Before entering any room you must sign a waiver if it's your first time and watch an intro video. From there, you'll be taken to your room. We did, "Submerge" a submarine escape room. Since it was a slow day there, we chatted with the employee before playing the game. He is also one of the folks who created the room so I was hoping he'd give us some scoop- he did not. One thing he did mention is that he tries to create the game thinking that not all people coming here will be thinking the same way as he might be (more on that later). Without giving away the clues or game. We had a great time. We finished a little longer than what we wanted to, but for two people, we were proud of ourselves. There were a few times we needed to ask for a clue. Once we were given the clue we realized we would have never have gathered that without their help- harking back to the employee who said he wanted to make games everyone could understand. While the overall game was amazing, I did find one or two things kind of a stretch to figure out without help. No refunds on your schedule but they do allow you to change the date and time if you aren't able to make your originally scheduled plan. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and would try another room. I probably won't escape on time when I do it next time, but oh well!

What a fun thing to do. But first! If you're a vet, call in advance for a discount. I didn't so meh, no discount. Speaking of which, it's a veteran owned business so if you had two side by side, I'd pick the vet owned since we've got to look out for each other! However, this wasn't why I went. I didn't even know it was vet owned. Nonetheless, with our torrential rain lately, Father's Day was a wash. My daughters and I tried to figure things out to do but just couldn't manage until I ran across 12Escape. It's relatively close and in Davie so it's not going to be too crazy. But be on the lookout...you'll miss it if you blink. We reserved online and the price seems comparable to what others are and maybe mildly higher than high traffic tourist places like Orlando. Chose the Outbreak room because zombies are pretty much the trend for a decade now. We arrived and there's plenty of parking and inside it's really nice. Plus...they sold Dippin Dots! We got our little video brief and then off to the room. It would maybe be easier with all adults. There's 4 of us, two adults and my daughters. Well, oldest is 18, but still! Ones scared, the other one is thinking of Snapchat. Nonetheless, we made it to the next room with 10 mins left and then got stuck. There's a handful of things to figure out and such so it took us maybe a smidge longer than normal folks! The staff was kind enough to walk us through and you kick yourself knowing x meant something and y would've done this or that. But it was definitely a good time.

I didn't know there was an escape room so close to me. I have been to an escape room only once, but not in the US. When I saw this one near me, I read the theme of the rooms and really wanted to try it out! The place is pretty small on the inside, and it is located on a small road and it is easy to miss the turn when trying to find the place. The place requires a reservation, so my friends and I made a reservation the night before. My friends and I decided to do the Quarantine room. The set up and level of difficulty of the room really put our minds to the test. We all had a lot of fun trying to find all the clues. The only thing about the room was that there were only two rooms to break out of. We were expecting about 3 or 4 rooms. Because of it being only two rooms, there were so many clues and about 5 or so different locks in one room, which made it a bit overwhelming for one room. Nonetheless, my friends had a great time and we made it out with about 15 minutes to spare. We may come back and try the Kidnapped theme room next!

The room looked like Sherlock Homes filed for bankruptcy and had to furnish his office from a flea market clearance bin. The puzzles just didnt make sense, it wasnt "challenging", it was just a bunch of random shit thrown together, and we were just stuck there playing "guess what the owner was thinking". And the best part? They locked the door and then completely ghosted us on the walkie talkie. No hints, no responses, nothing. The walkie talkie turned out to be just as useless as the rest of the props. At that point it stopped being an escape room and started feeling like a low-budget hostage situation. I've had better communication from people that owe me money. Basically paid $100 to get locked in a bootleg Sherlock Holmes office with zero support. At one point I wasn't even trying to solve clues anymore, I was just wondering if I should start rationing oxygen and writing my will on the back of a fake clue envelope. ------------------- Response to owner: Yes, the walkie talkie was eventually replaced, but there was a solid stretch where we were locked in asking for help over and over with zero response. Not once, not twice, multiple times. At one point we literally gave up, sat down on the chairs, and just started having a full conversation. On the clues... we didn't ask to be completely abandoned, we just didn't want to be spoon-fed. There's a big difference between "let them figure it out" and "let's pretend they don't exist". And regarding the "wrong locks", that kind of proves my point. If everything feels like it could go anywhere, it stops feeling like solving puzzles and starts feeling like you're just trying random combinations and hoping something clicks. For the price this isnt worth it at all if im being honest. The experience just didn't match the price point, especially when part of the game was us sitting there like extras in a movie, waiting for someone to remember we were still locked inside.

I did some research and the location and reviews of Boxroom led me to try it. We're all so glad we did. For beginners and kids they recommended the Merlin Room - it's still challenging! Kids still need to go with adults and you probably cannot solo this one - it really encourages teamwork. This made for great, memorable family time and even team building! I loved the theme, It's hard to talk about it too much without giving away surprises, but I can safely say that you won't be disappointed. The Merlin room is filled with mystery, magic, and the staff is so friendly and good, they made for a great experience. A couple of times we needed just a slight nudge or clue, and they gave exactly that, it was perfect and kept us engaged. We finished the room and felt so great, it was an immersive experience and my stepson already wants to come back next weekend to do the Pirates Room. We'll definitely be back. There's parking available on the street, it's on Hollywood Boulevard, so there's plenty to walk around and enjoy before or after your Escape Room experience - lots of nice restaurants there too. It's also about a 10 minute drive from Hollywood Beach. Great place!

First time at this escape room. Did the Operation Saving Hollywood room…read more First, the place looks like it could use an update. The waiting area in particular looks run down. As far as the room itself, if you Google, "what makes an escape room bad," you'll see a lot of it in this room. For example, some of the puzzles require subjective guessing rather than structured, deductive reasoning. One puzzle required entering a code by figuring out which 3 icons had to be entered in proper order. But, to figure out which icons, there were no clues about the icons themselves. You just had to start clicking on the icons to see if they were part of the sequence or not. So it was just click each icon randomly until the computer acknowledged it. Not really deductive. There was also a puzzle where we figured out the answer but couldn't find the lock. I don't want to give too much away but as someone who tries not to damage the hardware, the placement of the lock was awkward. Some the puzzles are also very linear in structure and forces everyone to stop so that one person does the puzzle. Not great with a group. And then, to top it off, the final puzzle has both a tedious time sink and a mechanical piece that didn't work well. I've been in challenging rooms but the solutions would have cool aha moments. Here, the clues and subsequent solutions would yield groans for the whole group. Some of the puzzles were neat but so many of them were just not well designed.
