Meh. Quick and fast but cheap, you get what you pay for. Definatly not the top of my list. Service, well as soon as I walked in not 30-45 seconds later "you ready to order?" "Um no, give me a moment." The birger was ok/so-so. Nothing spectacular and you would think if you have a birger named after your establishment it would be something special unlike the rest of the burgers. Not this place. There MytiBurger is just a basic burger. The patty wasn't flavorful it was just thin. I know frozen pattys you can buy in a store that are thicker than that. The chocolate shake I had was barely chocolaty and I was kind of dissapointed. If I had wanted to order Vanilla I would have done so. If I need something to eat, and if my sugar was low or I had not eaten all day or was just starving this place would be last resort. I know hamburgers and I know neighborhood joints and this is nothing special, you can go to other 'in the hood' spots and get much better. read more

This place looks really cool, like a nostalgic old burger place, when you walk in you see it's not very clean. First hint..... the burger that I ordered was so full of gristle that I couldn't finish it!!! Didn't taste fresh, very disappointed. Also the bathrooms were filthy!!! To the new owners... if you don't use at least decent ingredients you won't do good!!! I've been all over the United States and I know when the food is good. If you don't know good food then try this place, I'm sure it was good back in the 60s and 70s but it is terrible now!!!! I have to pick a star or it would be a negative 5. read more

Years ago Mytiburger was one of the finest hamburger stands in Houston but my most recent visit there left much to be desired. The place was busy but not rockin yet it took over 15 minutes to get my order. When I got it the burger was over done almost burnt. The bun was toasted but cold. The lettuce did not sem fresh and crispy. The mustard was week and tasteless. Worse the fresh cut fries were limp and inedible. They did not receive that all important second fry. Once fried fresh cuts are awful indeed. On the bright side the iced tea was quite good. None of the ketchup bottles on the tables had any product left in them and the dining room was on the warm side. I will not be rushing back. read more

This place is Awesome! Great Classic burger joint. I had a few friends come help me move, and decided to take them here as a thank you for their assitance. Didnt break the bank, yet everyone was full and satisified! The Burger was Awesome! I half expected it to be a little bigger(though it was still a good size) It was OO so flavorful! 6 people and NOONE had food left on thier plates! The staff was actually fairly entertaining and patient(considering we were 6 people who had never been here before) They were very nice and brought to food to our table! This place used to have THE BEST milkshakes in town, then they decided to switch the ice cream they use (not blue bell) and they are now just an average milkshake. Very disappointed, I came in from California and all I wanted was their milkshake. No need to come here anymore. read more

I love this place dearly and we live around the block in Oak Forest, though was mystified the last time we went ordered 2 bacon burger combos, tots, and drinks and the bill was a few cents short of $20.. Clearly prices went up again, I'd be lying if I didn't say it was worth it but it's gone from reasonable/inexpensive to more upscale burger prices - quality is still really good. Worse my receipt didn't even detail what the charges were, just a total, tax, and not much else -- seems odd in this day and age. I've been here 20-25 times now and this is the first time I've ever been shocked at my bill, oh well we'll be back just less frequently. read more

I want to first comment on the service here. The staff were EXTREMELY friendly, and didn't mind just chit chatting, and explaining everything they could do with our meal. I thought that was pretty cool. I'm pretty sure they'd make you whatever you wanted, if they had the ingredients. They're also locals, and some super nice people. I'm coming back just for the service alone. Personally, I found this place to be just as good as Five Guys, which is one of my favorite burger spots. Nothing overly fancy or special, just some good old fashioned burgers and fries (though five guys may still have them beat on the fries). The wife and I both loved it, and it's a mile away from us, so we'll definitely be back. Note that it's a tad pricier than your usual fast food (I think both our meals together were maybe $18?). But that's ok. I like the cafe and neighborhood burger joint feel of the place. read more

Whole in wall places are usually the best but I must say I'm not too impressed with this one and isn't a cheap place to me. Double bacon cheeseburger w/ jalapeno, avocado, side of onion rings and small drink for $12. Burger tasted bland, even after I added black pepper and hot sauce. This is such a great local spot. The menu is wonderful!! We get the Cheeseburgers with cheddar cheese, and they are delicious. The Onion Rings are my favorite, they are very tasty and not greasy at all. I had the Jalapeno poppers the other night with cream cheese and they were pretty good, but onion rings are better. I really want to try the Buffalo Burger and see how their Veggie Burger is also. The Building and Sign are super cool & old fashioned. The Staff is really friendly and sweet. Single with bacon. Love this joint! First off, this is a GREAT place to sit and eat a burger. Its a tiny diner with cheap bench seating that you would easily pass without noticing. really friendly staff, that will help with the munchies! Oh and the price? Cheap, You can get a great burger for $4. Gourmet places like HopDoddy charge you 3 times that much and they just use condiments to mask the meat flavor. This place does not need to mask the flavor of the meat. You can feel the quality grilling in both the taste and texture of the meat. Chalk one up for the little guys, Whataburger has nothing on these guys. This place is what I imagine Louis Lunch in Connecticut would be like. read more

I was recommended here from an employee at Baskin Robbins named Jacob after he overheard me and my son arguing over what we want. He said mytiburger is the best place around and even backed it up with a news paper article saying it was voted number 1! He said the owner is a local guy and shared a conversation about local sports teams since he seen my son had on his YMCA team shirt. When we arrived at mytiburger we were greeted by the cashier and were a little lost on how to order. After getting a double and a mytiburger we went to pay and the only thing sucked was the cashier. She never gave eye contact and never shared a smile. Kinda felt like I was annoying. It was an older heavyset lady. The food was very good but the fries were mediocre. Will come back. read more

I've been going to this place for almost 30 years! The only reason it's getting 4 stars is there have been some "eh" changes since the new owner took over a little while ago. For example, they changed the milkshake recipe & it's now only available in small and ginormous. That being said, you can request the old recipe, but it's still not quite the same...but it's still MUCH better than the new recipe. read more

My husband brought home a banana milkshake from here the other night that was so good, I didn't care about the brain-freeze. The onion rings and sweet potato fries are a favorite of mine along with a Jr. Mytiburger with bacon and cheese. I don't get the larger burgers because for me, the Jr. is more than enough. With fresh toppings and made to go orders, it's a good place for those who like to personalize their burgers. I did get a cherry limeade one time that was a little too sweet for me, but if you like really sweet then you'd enjoy it. read more

I know this is a venerable Heights area institution and a great community supporter, but my husband and I found the food to be on average...average. The friendly service everyone is raving about wasn't there tonight, that was also average...maybe Saturday evenings are not the best time to go. The smell of grease was so pervasive on entering, that it was unappetizing. Maybe a better exhaust fan is in order. Mytiburger with cheddar and loaded: good; fairly priced Regular fries: too thick and soft, even tho' I asked for crispy; not worth the price Service was slow, but understandable since it is all made to order. However, they should have gone ahead and given us our drinks right away and let me pay instead of filling all orders ahead of us fully before they even gave us our drinks. Then I still had to wait to pay when we actually got our food. The people working the counter didn't even greet us when we came in or as we were figuring out our order. I think it was fairly obvious we had never been there before. There was only one other couple there at the time. They did give refills on our sodas and were very kind to a homeless man who came in for some ice water. Keep up the good work that you do for your community and congrats on 50 years of business. I will go through the drive through if in the area again for a burger and try something besides the fries. You might reconsider that recipe given the number of negative comments on those. read more

Food was okay, service was mediocre to poor. We ordered quickly but the guy spoke so low I had no idea what he was saying over the din of the restaurant, and seemed kind of annoyed when I kept asking what he said. I went to pay and stood there, right in front of a woman working the register, for five minutes while she completely ignored me and helped a customer picking up a takeout order that walked up after I did. I was still standing there, money in hand, when a different staff guy came over and told me I was to pay when it was ready. I go sit down, and the lady calls out my order for pickup, so I go back up, and this time she was courteous, but I don't know why she (or anyone else) couldn't say a word before when it was obvious that I didn't know what to do. The drive through speaker is very loud and annoying. The food was alright but not so special that I would deal with the staff again to get it. read more

I see alot of 1st world whiny reviews *pointin @ you* but some have to get learnt before they learn..I stopped by here for lunch last week and experience has taught me to do a "1st glance" expectation..so 1st glance @ Mytiburger.."I'm gona get a turd on a bun" This changed as soon as I got my $5 double burga..this was not a turd nor a turd with glitter but simply an ol school flat grill delight!!! Now, I don't doubt that this place may be off sometimes, ok even maybe alot, but ya get what ya get when ya get what ya gotten..that made no sense. My burger took a while, but I could hear it frying the whole time. It came out hot & fresh, bun toasted ever so lightly perfect, fresh tomatoes & lettuce...took that 1st big bite and it was juicy with right amount of grilled taste!!! So, I will be back and you know what, I may not get a winner next time, but it won't stop me from going again to try some fries & shakes @ this joint !!! read more
