My husband and I have gotten dinner here multiple times because of the businesses outcry for customers and convenience to my neighborhood. I want to support this local spot, but each time we've been here the workers just seem miserable. Any time I've ordered at the counter and requested something like no tomato or add something onto the burger they act like it's an annoyance and inconvenience. The burgers are decent, but the fries are just sad. They're very clearly just whatever they could find cheap and in bulk from some store. No seasoning and never crisp. Onion rings have been overcooked to an almost burnt level each time we've ordered them as well. If the food and service was better here I'm sure they'd get more customers, but I have a feeling this is why they're struggling. This place is solid, and I totally agree with Belly G. that the customer service pushes this place from that 3 to a 4. I oped for a bacon cheese burger, onion rings and pineapple shake. This was more food then I needed, but I wanted to try all the things. The burger and the onion rings were both solid 3's. Taste good, good value, but not gonna wow you. The shake was pretty unique, very few places branch beyond the chocolate, vanilla, strawberry options, so I quite enjoyed the pineapple. If you live in the area, you should give it a try. It's a Houston institution as far as how long it's been around, so I'm glad to finally check the place off my list. However, I doubt I'll be running back anytime soon. read more

I live in Mangum manor so this is super close to me. We play disk golf in the tc jester park so it's very accessible. I don't eat red meat so I can say how their beef burgers are. I get the turkey burger no bun. I t has a fired grilled taste kinda like burger king does theirs. They have the sonic ice and their drinks are pretty big. They sell the sonic ice by the bag!!! It's great to have in the house for crunching on. It's always fresh. Not the fastest but consistent. They have ice cream cones. I always get one for my pup and she loves it. Last night I had a conversation with Belly G about good eats near Oak Forest/Garden Oaks area, since both of us work near the area. We were naming off some of our regulars. The list went through some burger spots and he reminded me one of his favorites was Mytiburger. I totally had this review pending and decided it was finally time to finish it out. So there are plenty of hole in the wall burger joints around here and there are more not so good ones, compared to the good ones. This place is a small stand alone building. When you get in it's very narrow. You order at the counter and grab a seat. The people working are really nice and fun. Willing to chat. I had the Chili cheese burger. It's a greasy spoon kind of burger. Messy. But packed full of flavor. They make your burgers fresh to order, but it comes out really fast. I really enjoyed the southern hospitality. I couldn't believe that I was still in Houston. I am not a burger person, but I had been dying to try a buffalo burger. That burger just blew me away with that fantastic taste. Juicy, tender and lean - I could hardly taste any fat at all. I also tried their homemade onion ring and fried pickle chips. I ordered a cat fish sandwich along with a small side of tater tots. I didn't have to pay until my order was ready. The sandwich had 3 pieces of fried cat fish. I was worried that the cat fish would be salty as it is at other places but it wasn't salty at all and it still had flavor to it. The tater tots weren't too greasy either. Mytiburger served up a mighty good burger for sure. As soon as you open the rickety door the smell of greasy goodness hits ya smack in the face. This place is a legend and definitely showing it's age but that's not stopping them from putting out a good product. It's nearly impossible for me not to compare all burgers to the best that I was lucky enough to grow up with, another legend Storms in centra Texas. Mytiburger made some good onion rings crisp slightly sweet and not greasy at all just the way I like. We also enjoyed the sweet potato fries and the meat itself was well seasoned and had good flavor. My hubby (a slightly tougher critic than I when it comes to burgers) said something about the texture of the patty seemed to maybe be previously frozen but the flavor was still good. He didn't care for his fries, we weren't told but later read in other reviews you can have a slight upcharge for handcut fries, I'd suggest that since he didn't care for the frozen kind. The tea (both sweet and unsweet) were delicious. The kids cheeseburger is pretty small just FYI my soon to be 9 yo chomped it down and said she wanted more. Along the same lines the party on my bun was a bit smaller, so the meat to bun ratio could be a slightly better. Ewww I drove all the way from Missouri City to use a Groupon and it was not worth the drive. The burger was soggy and the bread didn't seem so fresh.
