I was looking for a different place to eat with my friend when I am in the area and he likes fish sandwiches and I was looking for something small. After looking at the menu online, decided to try this. Both of us was glad we did. Food was good. My pulled pork sliders tasted just as good when heated up the next day. He enjoyed his fish sandwich. I like the beans had ham that cut the taste of onions on them. Why people think green beans taste good with onions have never tasted home made southern Ohio version. Service was friendly and excellent. Lots of character and enjoyed interacting with customers. Food out fast. Lots of TVS of course but not that noisy but not that full. Large parking lot. Great Sylvania community meeting place. Very full menu options to choose from. Our waitress was pleasant and took our drink orders. When drinks came we placed our sandwich and wing order. I love Fricker's for many reasons. First, the food. Best wings around but don't ignore the rest of the menu. The burgers excellent as are the quesadillas and the chicken sandwiches. 1&1/2 hour wait for flavorless, overcooked chicken. I suspect the success of this location has to do with the wonderfully friendly service and the fact that there just aren't that many restaurants in this part of Sylvania. This was the absolute worst meal I have ever had since I moved to OHIO. The service was ok but the food was terrible. I ordered fried shrimp that look like it had been fried two or three times with a side of crinkle cut fries which needed to be fried a second time to be hot and or fresh, my friend ordered a chicken quasdills that were the most dry and unseasoned they the table had ever seen. The service was really good and our server was extremely well trained and friendly. Unfortunately I suffers severe food poisoning from the chicken quesadillas I had. I don't know if it was the cheese, chicken, or chicken he sour cream. I had to go to the immediate care in order to stop throwing up. From my understanding I have heard that the kitchen at least at this location is disgusting and full of heath hazards. I really like Fricker's and it's a favorite for my sister father and I. The fourth star is for the staff- the food is 3 star if I'm being generous! I love Tiffany- at least I think that's her name! Tattoos, short, funny waitress???? Ehhhh even if her name is really Shirley or something she is always so friendly and so funny. I dig wait staff with dark humor and brutal honesty. If you ask her if something new on the menu is good or not you'll get the truth every time along with a suggestion on what to order instead. I rarely go in for a meal, but I do like popping in for a drink. It's hard to find a watering hole close enough to stumble home from when you're in Sylvania and don't care for beer. (I know shoot me!). The wings are fair- as long as you get them naked. Their breaded wings are more breading than meat. Only giving it 3 stars because there's no real problem I had. It's always busy, the wings are subpar and have little meat. I'm a small girl who eats very little so that says a lot. Growing up in Northwest Ohio, whenever you wanted chicken wings, chili cheese fries, and a place to watch a sports game, Fricker's was the place to go. My brothers still swear by Fricker's wings - even after all these years and we've all moved away - they swear they are the best wings around. I'm not much of a chicken wings person (I don't like bones), so when I go to Fricker's I opt for something else. My typical go to is their Frickin Chicken Chunks. They're basically chicken nuggets without the breading and you can get them in any sauce you like (mild, medium, kicker, teriyaki, etc). Over the years, the chunks have gone from being juicy, succulent pieces of white meat chicken to much smaller and less juicy pieces of various parts of the chicken. Some of the other menu items are decent. They do pretty good with their chili cheese fries and I'm a big fan of the breaded mushrooms. The food isn't stellar but it's not terrible either. The service really depends on your waitress and how crowded they are that night. Their beer selection is good and it's always served cold. It's the kind of place you would expect to be a sports bar with the type of food you would expect at a sports bar. So if you're expecting something else, Fricker's may not be the place for you. read more

Even my husband said there was no way she didn't hear me. I ordered wings with the medium buffalo sauce and they had no flavor, just alot of grease, to the point it was running down my arm after the 1st wing. This place has changed considerably. When Shawn and Jeff were there it was great. Since new management has taken over when Shawn was promoted this place has completely fallen apart. The management team is so disorganized and the wait staff has become very rude and created a place that is not enjoyable at all. I struggled coming up with a rating for this place. I used to live in the Toledo area years ago. I would frequent Fricker's on wing nights on many occasions. I actually do like their wings. Made to order, large wings that are some of the best I've had. Until last night. The wings I got last night didn't have the wing tips attached. At some point they must have decided to do away with that. And the wings themselves were dramatically smaller than they used to be. By about half the size. And they came to the table over cooked. The sauce was the only thing I can salvage to say good about them. What a disappointment. Our service was excellent. Past visits the service can be hit or miss. I really wanted to give a better review. The wings were just so diappointing last night. I have to be in Toledo in a few weeks. I'll try again. I don't really understand why some people like going here. I've been here three time and each time the service has been terrible. I could've just went and filled up my drink on my own, cooked a steak, and baked a cake by the time I got my second beer. Also, what is with having tables in a back corner where there are no TVs? We stopped in to have lunch with my parents. There were 4 adults and 2 children. We were the first patrons on a Sunday for lunch. The staff did not seem prepared to start working. After waiting for 45 minutes, we finally got up to cancel our order and miraculously our food showed up. Keep in mind there were more staff in the restaurant than patrons. The food is average, but that is what we were expecting. Our frustration was even greater when the manager came over and did not seem interested and did not believe we were getting poor service. I think he was to busy talking to the waitresses. I might eat at another Fricker's location some day day, but I will never be back to this one.
