Not sure if this will make any sense, but this place gives major Cali vibes. I went in on my own, solo, and was able to grab one of the last seats at the bar. The place has plenty of tables and a rather large bar and it was mostly full. Good for them! It was brunch time, and one of the few places in Louisville that has a bottomless drink option. I didn't do that, but it was cool to see. Anyway, the staff were very friendly and I ordered with ease. I decided to get the polenta brunch plate and a side of sausage -- anticipating the plate on its own might be light. As I said before, I didn't do bottomless mimosas... but I saw that they had a mimosa flight and got quite curious. When the staff explained everything to me, I was sold immediately because of how creative the flavors were. Let me break it down: Blueberry basil: it was perfect, down to the last drop. The basil complimented it so well! Prickly pear: A flavor that I love but get to have so rarely. It was delicious... definitely the sweetest in the bunch. Strawberry coconut: nice combo, and frothy. There was lime in there too, which stood out. These were crafted by the bartender herself, and she walked me through her process of coming up with them. She did a fantastic job on each one. It far exceeded my expectations of flights where you just get like... orange, pineapple, cranberry... and maybe mango if you're lucky. The polenta brunch plate was indeed light as I expected, but the presentation was wonderful and it was really tasty! Glad I had that sausage. I could've eaten even more honestly. But I had a long day ahead and I didn't want to be too stuffed. I would eagerly recommend this place to anyone in the area, and it's on more of the eastern side. So while it was crowded that day, it doesn't get quite as packed as other places more central in Louisville.
My partner and I were in town for a comedy show, we stopped by here beforehand and it was great! It is tapas style, so we split a larger dish and ordered 3 small plates with a snack. We loved the atmosphere, the decor was wonderfully thought out. It was very clean, and we appreciated the restrooms being gender neutral. The service was fantastic, at one point my partner dropped his napkin and the server brought over a clean, folded one before we even noticed! Food came out fast and hot as well, and the servers were all friendly and accommodating. The food was mostly delicious, we loved the small plate Crispy Halloumi Salad and the snack cheese stuffed dates. We didn't exactly love the Crispy Rice dish or the Roasted Beets, but they were both so well prepared and beautiful that we really couldn't complain. We will definitely stop back in whenever we're back in Louisville, especially because they have a seasonal menu.
I had heard this was a great place to come, and overall, I agree. The back area for outdoor seating is lovely they have picnic and regular tables with chairs. The landscaping is very nicely done. The waiter was helpful and kind, and I can't recommend the tempura cauliflower enough! The fries were good, too! The drink menu is interesting with a variety of creative combinations. I do want to alert you to the sake they use. It is the kind they have in vending machines in Japan, so not great, but I guess it doesn't really matter if you're putting it into a mixed drink.... Another good poiny about the restaurant is they were a little backed up in our waiter kept us informed, which was great.. The concerns are twofold, one is outside the control of the establishment and the other is not. First is the parking. As you would expect with any neighborhood eatery, finding a spot to park can be difficult, especially if you don't pay attention like we did and go on the same night that there is a soccer game... The other concern is a little more serious, and I hope that they will rectify it directly. When ordering dinner, we all got the red snapper, which was delicious, but the plate came with pine nuts on it, but there was no indication of any nuts in the dish on the menu. Luckily, my friend, who is very allergic, didn't eat any of it, and our waiter quickly offered to bring a fresh plate and fresh silverware because she touched the fish with her utensils. However,sadly,the makeup dish never arrived. We ended up canceling that and it was taken off the bill... One final, note the ice cream is amazing but the other desserts are fair at best. I might go back, and if I do, it would be for the cauliflower.
still my favorite restaurant in Louisville. women owned, immaculate vibes, and mouthwatering food EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. perfect for a date or "girl dinner" ;) my go to food every time i visit is the general tsaos cauliflower and a beet margarita (entree is variable). can make reservations and also walk in. the patio is my favorite place when the weather is nice. they have just revamped their menu so i'm itching to get back and try something new asap!!
I attended an event at Naive with a group of women. It was amazing to support a woman-owned business in the area! We ate outside, and the vibes were so much fun. We got a tasting menu, and everything was delicious. The English Pea Hummus was a favorite. We ate brunch here, but I definitely want to come back for dinner!
Our first meal in KY and it was a pleasant surprise. Love love love the food, the ambiance, the service... you name it and it's spot on! This restaurant is heaven for vegetarians/vegans/GF etc. I got the 24K Latte due to the peer pressure from Yelp photos and I wasn't disappointed. Really liked the balance of flavors in the drink. I would have liked it better if it was made hot, it was served warm instead. I also got the breakfast burrito with vegan egg in it. So flavorful!!! My husband got General Tso's Cauliflower which was pretty good for cauliflower wings. He also got the Garden Burger which came with spicy fried tiny potatoes. The potatoes knocked my socks - they were that good! The burger patty was fine, I really liked the cole slaw that was used as burger fixings. Our bill was $62 for 2 drinks, 1 appetizer and 2 entrees. We will certainly come back again next time we are in the area and will also bring friends/family along.
My wife and I go to Naive at least once every couple of months. It's one of her favorite restaurants because she has a gluten allergy, and they have a great GF selection. I also love it because the atmosphere is very welcoming, the service is top notch and the food gets better every time we go. We normally go for weekend brunch, so we start with a mimosa flight, which sets the right tone. The corn cakes and polenta were excellent. Very filling on their own, but great to split as well. My wife also got a salad, which was refreshing, while I piled on the potatoes. The DJ enhanced the experience, and since Naive is right near Butchertown and NuLu, it was the start to an amazing Sunday of bar hopping. Can't recommend this place enough.
Impeccable service, flavor forward food and beautiful new location! Truly surprised at how delicious the salmon was seasoned & perfectly cooked with a crisp edge. Obviously an exceptional kitchen team! Wait staff were very attentive and conversational. All around amazing experience. Thanks Naive!
It has been a while since my hubby and I went out to a nice romantic dinner and we wanted to try out Naive for a "date night". We had catered our Christmas dinner from here and absolutely loved it. What drew us to Naive is that they use local vendors, the food is plant-based with a couple of dishes for those who like meat, and most of the fare is gluten-free. It's rare that I can go somewhere and choose almost anything from the menu so I was stoked!! When we arrived we were welcomed by beautiful decor and wonderful ambiance, and it was a Tuesday night so we practically had the place to ourselves. Since this was a special night for us, we decided to order everything our little hearts desired including cocktails. Let's start unpacking how amazing this meal was starting with the cocktails - the Bitter Ex and Beeting Heart. Since the Bitter Ex is made with bourbon (which has gluten) I asked if they could switch that out for Mezcal without sacrificing flavor and they said it wouldn't and they did. Oh em gee... It really was delicious, tart, and smokey, easily the best cocktail I have had in years. The Beeting Heart was a close, close second! Sweet and tart with a ring of sugar on the rim, it really dances in your mouth. Both drinks were a perfect balance of flavor and although strong, the alcohol didn't take over the drinks. We had decided to eat dinner Tapas style and ordered quite a few dishes: General Tso's Cauliflower - absolutely delicious, one of my favorite dishes. Tangy, sweet, savory, and not heavy. Just fantastic. Hot Nashville Cauliflower - Breaded (GF) and fried it has a southern flare with a nice hot kick. Very good, but honestly, if I had to choose it would be the General Tso's over this dish. Crispy Skin Salmon - Delicate, flaky, buttery, everything a good piece of Salmon should be. The confit potatoes were the perfect compliment. Oyster Mushrooms - AH-MA-ZING. So tasty, I loved them. It came as a mixture of Oyster and Baby Bellas, very delicious. Dessert: CBD Brownie - Rich, oh so rich. You couldn't tell it is gluten-free. The perfect ending to an incredible meal. With a nice cup of coffee? Perfection. All in all? **Chef's kiss** I wish I had ordered so much more, it was all so good. Next time I am in Louisville I will try the Risotto and more.
While planning our Christmas dinner with the family in Louisville, since we were arriving late in the day, we didn't want to have to worry about meal preparation. The plan was to have a meaningful dinner with close family. To that effect, we were looking for a place whose offerings resonate with our lifestyle. And so in the process of searching for the right place, we came across Naive. Needless to say, we ordered the food and picked it up, and enjoyed an amazing meal among family. The next time an opportunity came up for us to go out and enjoy a good time together in a restaurant, the obvious choice was Naive. Their food offerings are fantastic, with great attention to detail, and they are consistent with their philosophy of supporting the community with locally sourced ingredients. The experience in the restaurant was also quite special. Our server was warm, enthusiastic, and cheerful, our special requests were met with a can-do attitude and the end result was a wonderful evening, good food, good company, and good service. Naive is the real deal. Can't wait to visit again soon.
Admittedly I'm a little embarrassed by this experience. I suggested this place for lunch to our group of party people on our walk between distilleries. Even though I called ahead, the kitchen definitely did NOT expect such an influx of customers in the middle of a weekday. Most importantly, I didn't care for the food, as cute as this place looked. I started with a Golden Latte, which was tasty. Definitely needed caffeine to wake me up from the early start that day. I got the Nashville Hot Cauliflower, which turned out to be greasy and flavorless. Super disappointing! My friend next to me got the Naive Burger, which was just okay as well. Aw man, I really wanted to like the food here. We ended up getting most of the food to-go because of our time crunch. I'll give the kitchen my benefit of the doubt that they were rushed and sloppy with the food because we had so many people. The menu overall looked tasty and everyone else seemed to be having a great time. If I was in the area, I'd definitely come back for at least a coffee.
I really liked the atmosphere at Naive and we had great service as well. They take online reservations which I always appreciate. The drinks were fantastic. I had a mocktail but my dining partner had the beet margarita which I took a sip of, and it was one of the best cocktails I have had in a while. I love the veggie forward menu. We started with a snap pea appetizer and my entree, the pesto orecchiette also had snap peas in it. Everything was good and really fresh but both dishes also needed a touch of salt. The snap peas also were not strung and some of the strings were a little tough. My partner's risotto was seasoned well and very tasty. I'd definitely come back and try some other things on the menu, like the cauliflower that seems to be popular.
Naïve is one of my favorite restaurants to go to for brunch. It's my favorite atmosphere in the Southern Indiana/Louisville area. We walked in around noon on a Saturday & the the place was packed! Luckily for us there were 2 seats at the bar which worked out perfectly. Our bartenders were lovely & super helpful. Our drinks were amazing & the food was even better. Definitely recommend & cannot wait to go back!

After researching restaurants in and around the Louisville area, we discovered Naive Kitchen & Bar, and promptly made reservations. I had looked up "must try" eats on Pinterest and Naive kept coming up in my search results. Boy, was it worth it! My husband and I had indulged in pizza, tacos, and treats for most of our stay, so on our last night in town we were looking for something slightly healthier. First off, the atmosphere of this restaurant is awesome. Whether you dine inside or out on the back patio, you're in for a treat. Pergolas, plants, trees, privacy, intimacy... Naive's got it down! Our cocktails were expertly made and incredibly unique. The menu features "shareable" cuisine, kind of like a tapas restaurant-- smaller portions so you can share with your group! We tried the General Tso's Cauliflower to start, which was divine! The Tuscan Kale Salad was fresh and light, perfect for a warm summer night! The Hubbs got the Fried Mushroom Slider, which was a single slider, but nicely-sized and FULL of flavor! He literally said it was the best thing he had eaten all week! My Strawberry Bucatini was the most memorable thing I ate during our entire stay, and I will forever try to replicate that dish at home! Unbelievable flavor profile!! Overall, we were so happy with our experience at Naive, and the next time we're near the Butchertown area of Louisville, we are definitely making another stop in! They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, which was one of the reasons why we chose to stop by. My husband is a meat eater, so after he told me how much he loved this place, I knew it was worth a 5-star review! We can't wait to dine here again! :) read more

Stopped for lunch at Naive with the fam. I wouldn't say the menu is particularly kid friendly (warning- no kids menu), but fortunately the staff was willing to make scrambled eggs with cheddar, side of bacon and sourdough for two picky eaters. I enjoyed the garden burger with sweet potato fries. My dad had the potato croquettes, my hubby had the lamb burger and my mom had the breakfast egg cheese bacon sandwich. Everything was super fresh and the bread. Wow. So delicious! Loved my house made veggie burger, just needed a touch more salt. Excellent service and delish food. read more

So sadly I'm updating this review in November 2020 to say that I will unfortunately not be returning. I have celiac disease and this restaurant has many gluten free options. This first time I visited I had a little bit of an upset stomach after eating- but as we all know we never truly know the answer why sometimes. I still had a great meal and decided to come back yesterday. The waitress asked us upon sitting if we had any dietary restrictions or allergies that she needed to be aware about- I was so excited to hear that she cared! I ordered a gluten free pumpkin pancake and gluten free fries. Big mistake. The meal was good, don't get me wrong. But if you are a celiac, you probably know what happens next. I got so incredibly ill. I honestly haven't been that sick from a gluten free accident/mistake in so long. I embarrassingly got sick in public too. I'm not sure if this restaurant is more for people that do fad gluten free diets or if it was an honest mistake but I got so sick I will never return. The place is adorable, food delicious, and you will have a lovely experience if you are not gluten free :) read more

We stumbled onto this place while walking to the Big Four Bridge and wanted something light and healthy to offset our week of bourbon tastings. The beet margarita was delicious, smooth and balanced. I was expecting an earthier taste, but was pleased with the sweetness of the drink. The salad was exactly what I wanted. Huge pieces of kale and perfectly dressed. The patio is gorgeous, and we loved sitting outside to soak in the beautiful day. Very glad we found this gem. read more

I started out with the General Tso's Cauliflower which consists of green bean, lime, kale, puffed rice, sesame, togarashi. Absolutely a must have. Finished with an entree which consisted of Crispy Skin Salmon whipped labneh, confit potato, pickled beet, poblano, cured egg.AMAZING. MY DRINK that made my visit was called, Tree Lighting. And it had organic gin, lime, cranberry, rosemary, seltzer, CBD oil. I ordered two of these things and considering a third..PLEASE GET THIS. This drink was inspired my bartender Will. *edit: very accommodating for my nut allergy Naive is a stylish and modern restaurant in Butchertown that I have visited a couple of times now, so I figured it's about time to give them a review. We had a reservation for two on a Sunday evening. The restaurant has a very pleasant ambience for a peaceful dinner date. I got the Naive Burger with a Fake *ss Gin and Tonic. The tonic was good and the burger was superb, but you definitely have to be a fan of lamb. The lamb, cooked to perfection, was juicy without being overly messy. The rich flavors of the burger were well balanced by the crispy sweet potato fries that came on the side. My wife, who was dining with me, ordered a Kombucha and the Kohlrabi Curry, which was a bit lacking in flavor unfortunately, and probably not worth the price. Despite this, the restaurant's overall food quality was excellent (speaking from past experiences with their margaritas, Olive Oil Cake, and General Tso's Cauliflower). The service was attentive and polite, and though the food is on the pricier side, it was well worth it for the burger. I'll definitely be back, though I probably won't order the curry again. Rounding up a 4.5 star rating to 5 stars since I don't think a single mediocre dish amongst a menu of fantastic food is enough to drop it to 4 stars. read more

We loved this place. Came on a Friday night just before 7:00 and grabbed a table outside since it was such a nice evening. They had a surprisingly large drink menu with a unique beer offering (Black Acre TV Wolf IPA was my choice at $8). The food menu, while not large - has a really diverse offering. We started with the White Bean Hummus ($9) and really enjoyed it. The chips were a little on the burnt side - but they brought out some more for us. They apparently make the chips themselves. My bride went the Seasonal Nachos ($12) and added chicken ($5) - and she said they were excellent (but wish it didn't have rice in it). I had trouble keeping my hands off of them as well. I went with the Masas de Puerco ($19). The pork was on the dry side but I loved the flavor and combination of ingredients - especially the pineapple pico. Service was excellent. Went to Naive to celebrate my sister for her birthday dinner and so glad we did! We are all vegetarian and there were great choices! Shared the tomato toast and shaved salad and really enjoyed both! We loved our veg burgers too! Our server was really friendly and attentive. We also appreciated the ambiance. Naive won't be a weekly stop for us but definitely on the list when we want to have a nice dinner. read more
Naive is hidden away from Nulu and sandwiched by Butchertown. Naive makes me feel like I'm in California. They have a wonderful ray of vegan options and vegetarian options. Their ambience and vibe on the interior feels very carefree, modern and I particularly enjoyed the geodes that were on each table. Given Covid we decided to eat outside which was a lovely patio With ample space. We ordered the beet margarita on the suggestion of our waiter. It was earthy and delicious. For appetizers we got the watermelon which was topped with mint, pistachios, basil, and chili lime goat cheese. The general Tso's cauliflower was next. It has a sauce and green beans and was very flavorful. It was delicious and hearty. For our meals, we got the bucatini and the grains. The bucatini has seasonal veggies. In this case, it tasted like it had been cooked in jalapeño sauce. It was amazing. Lastly, we got the grains. It was my least favorite dish, it was good in concept, but it needed more flavor. All in all, a wonderful dining experience. When I miss California, I'll be going to Naive. read more
First and foremost, this is arguably the most aesthetically pleasing restaurant in Nulu. Each decorative detail seems very well thought out. Their patio was delightful & allowed us to bring Charlie girl along for our Sunday brunch. Portions are a little on the smaller side, but this was pretty nice! It would allow you to try more (delicious) items or in our case leave brunch without feeling heavy or uncomfortably full. We look forward to returning for dinner & can't wait to try more of their menu. Our server, Sam, was super sweet. It was refreshing to have excellent service, food, and ambiance all in one place! read more

My friend just recently learned she has a gluten allergy so we've been exploring restaurants with GF options. This is an awesome option! I'm not gluten free I always enjoy it. It's fresh, local and the food always has vibrant flavor. Last time I was here I got the Korean BBQ bowl with ancient grains and stir fry veggies. It comes with crispy tofu but I got 2 sunny side eggs instead. Loved it!! That sauce was fantastic! This time we can for brunch, and I got the fingerling potatoes with an egg + the avocado toast. The fingerling potatoes weren't as crispy as last time but it was still really good and came with cheese and other little tasties on it. The avocado toast was kind of a let down for me, only because it didn't have a ton of flavor. Nonetheless, everything was extremely fresh! The last two times I've went the portions were definitely on the smaller side, but it was worth the price to me because the dishes were a little bit richer and the ingredients were high quality and fresh. Also, they're very nicely plated! The menu was great and I feel like they gave a very nice selection. My friend got the lamb burger with sweet potato fries and she devoured them. Lastly, they have a great drink selection which was a nice bonus. Like a hybrid cocktail, coffee shop, sandwich, upscale restaurant with a nice plant-loving vibe. My fiancé likes their brunch too. They also offer bottomless mimosas and rotating mimosa fights where are phenomenal! Most importantly service was outstanding! We will be coming back! read more

On our way to Orleans, IN as part of an antique road trip we stopped in here for a bite. They have a very unique menu with well thought out ingredients and many vegan options. We had the Brussels sprouts and soup of the day to start. The portion size for the Brussel sprout dish was a tad small and light on the turnips but it was very delicious. A Japanese flavor with the togarashi spice which was coupled with sweet and spicy sauce. Definitely recommend. The soup was amazing with kale, quinoa, and chickpeas in a vegetable based broth. We split the mushroom burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was a nice and crispy on the outside but the inside was just a tad undercooked the effort was a good one and the flavor was okay but overall I'd try something different the next time. The portion on the fries was also a bit small but they were an excellent version of sweet potato fries. I'm rating this newer restaurant four stars because of the flavors, service, vegan options, and ambiance. While there are a few minor things I'd improve on overall I highly recommend. read more
The food here is stellar. I feel very fortunate to have discovered this place tonight. I ordered takeout as I just got to my hotel, but most restaurants were closing. I ordered the black cherry pink peppercorn lemonade, which was cool and refreshing. I highly recommend the General's Tso's cauliflower to start. For my entree, the salmon was cooked perfectly as the skin was nice and crispy. The salmon was able to stand alone, was well-seasoned, and tasted fresh. I finished with the cucumber salad which had a tart vinaigrette. Overall, I was greatly impressed with the flavors and value. I was shocked it was only $44. It's within walking distance of Nulu, but just tucked behind in the Butchertown area. I cannot get over how charming it is on the inside. I would definitely return here again, but I would like to dine here in-person to sample more of their drinks and menu. read more

Naive and I have never really had a good experience. Over the winter, I dug a few menu items but the drinks were always a hit or miss. For the price, the portions are small. Atleast the Winter portions were filling and decently priced appetizers. The food items are a hit or miss. Sometimes, delicious. Other times, not so much. The ambiance is neat and what they try and do I dig. However, the menu options being mess may be easier for the kitchen but i find disappointing as a consumer. They kept the cauliflower dish that I love. Although, everyone seems to cook it differently. Thw waiter we had this past weekend was sweet as can be. I didn't realize the rose latte I ordered was just a 6oz glass of coconut milk with pink thangs thrown in. It was a $5 glass of coconut milk, might I add... Was pretty disappointed with that as well. After atleast seven tries and my hope to dig this place, I give up. read more

Party of 4, first timers and we were all disappointed in our food. Very bland, we had to ask for salt. I had the Garden Burger and the "patty" was straight up raw, tasteless and mushy. Way too many onions (see photo). We sat out on the patio which was lovely but unfortunately we were getting a strong foul odor coming from the nearby Swift pork processing plant. This is not the restaurant's fault of course and I guess that's the gamble you take when in Butchertown. The only good things were the sweet potato fries and the drinks. Not worth the major $$$ for an overall unsatisfying experience. read more

This is such a cute restaurant!! I love the vibe. We went for Saturday brunch. The drinks are all amazing. They have coffee and cocktails and mock tails. We got a cauliflower appetizer and I could have eaten three plates of it it was so delicious. I got the quinoa burger and it was even better than I thought it would be. People at my table got avocado toast, a frittata and a few other things and they were all good. Definitely will be back. read more

Met up with my niece here while I was in town & found this cool spot. Absolutely lived the interior ambiance. Super chic and hip. Server & staff were friendly. Tried a coffee beverage with bee pollen...who knew?! It was tasty as was my niece's margarita with a cinnamon stick WOW! Meal choices were bursting with flavor and great experiences...we sampled each other's items. Very pleased trying new dishes. Menu seems pretty eclectic so I definitely recommend. Outdoor seating seemed cool for great weather days. A little pricey but hey you only live once right?! read more
TL;DR Service left a lot to be desired. But the food was good. I came here with a friend before heading over to the Flea Off Market one Saturday. It was later...more in between lunch and dinner than for brunch. But they still had a brunch menu, and this breakfast food loving gal was happy! We were seated right away and I really liked the bright, airy feel of the space. I settled pretty quickly on the dish I wanted to get. The chorizo bowl. They are vegetarian and vegan friendly, but have protein options. This omnivore (and chorizo lover) thanks you for that. I also ordered a latte. The coffee took a bit longer to be delivered than I expected, considering the relative not-busy-ness of the place. When it was delivered, I asked right away for sugar because I had noticed that there wasn't any on the table. After waiting quite a while with no food or sugar delivery, and finally noticing our waters were empty, I asked again for some sweetener of some kind while she was filling our H2Os. Again....we waited...and eventually our food was brought out. Upon delivery of which I had to ask YET AGAIN for some sugar. It there had been any I could see on any other tables, I would have just gone to take some. But there wasn't any. This third request finally did result in some sugar packets making their way to our table. It was kind of ridiculous. The food was pretty good. It was definitely heavy on the sweet potato/squash. But it was tasty. Everything on the menu looked tasty. Just be prepared for it to take longer than expected. I had heard from friends that they weren't sure if what you got was worth the price. I think the portion sizes are fairly generous, and therefore fairly priced. My only issues lies with the slowness and inattentive service. They have been open and around long enough now that that should not be an issue. If a friend wanted to come here I wouldn't object. Or if I was trying to think of a vegetarian-friendly food option, this would still remain on the list of potential spots. read more

We had a wonderful time at Naive. We were in town from Chicago. This place absolutely comparable to a high end Chi restaurant but at reasonable prices. The location and interior is beautiful and elegant, and the food was excellent - for me as a pescatarian, and for my meat-and-potatoes boyfriend who said the Tempura Cauliflower dish was one of the best he ever had (seriously - must try!). Kate was a wonderful server - she was helpful and attentive, and the food came out at a good pace that gave the whole experience a high-end feel while still feeling leisurely and enjoyable. read more

Cool laid back atmosphere and great food! Try the Nashville hot cauliflower, it's so good! They have vegan and vegetarian menu items. I usually get one of their tasty burgers, but on this visit, I got the Crispy Skin Salmon, and it was outstanding! It was seasoned perfectly and was served with carrot hummus, couscous, butternut squash, and crushed pistachios. My daughter got the Bohemian Stewed Eggplant and she said it was very good and filling. We got an Olive Oil cake to go but my daughter ate it all since it was so good. read more

Naive is an outstanding restaurant where you can find quite a number of healthy food choices on the menu. More importantly though, their food is nothing short of stupendous! Service is attentive and fast; the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting :-) If you have the opportunity, I strongly suggest that you visit Naive and check out what they have to offer. On my one visit I only had the chance to try a few of the selections on their menu, so I'm going to be making a point to return and sample more of their delicious cuisine! read more

Naive has recently gone "full service" and it's made a huge difference! The waitstaff wasn't stellar but sufficient. I'm so happy. I love the food at Naive, but it's confused set up and slow service was always a huge pitfall. They recently released their Summer 2019 menu which features a ton of bright and light summery dishes! We started with roasted red pepper hummus--which was enormous and deliciously spiced. Then we moved on to General Tso's Cauliflower which is a Naive classic and been on each of the menus since the restaurant opened. We finished with grit cakes which are served with mushrooms and summer squash and a corn salsa. It's just screams summer. read more
Nashville Cauliflower: amazing! Vegan ranch . . . Any restaurant with vegan ranch, is amazing. They have moscato di asti: heaven. Goddess Salad is REAL "cabbagie"; I would have liked the cabbage sliced a little thinner. I follow Forks Over Knives at home so I'm sensitive to oil: the grain bowl was saturated in oil. We had each dessert, the chocolate brownie is phenomenal. read more
Terrific food, y'all. Been getting into vegetarian eating of late. Made it a goal for the month of January to not eat meat. Tell you what. Been an eye opener. Have felt terrific. Aaannnnndddd Naive has many options for people that wish to do the same! - Beet hummus is outstanding. You don't get a lot for what you pay. Which is to be expected, I suppose. Seems to be the norm anymore. You get a shareable thingy and it just doesn't stretch too far. But you'll enjoy it. An earthy tasting hummus with chips. Yummo. - Had the pad Thai. Made with zucchini. Also yummo. Has a little kick to it, which is what you get with a pad Thai. Not as peanutty as you'd expect. But it was really tasty. And you get a lot. It was pretty hearty. I felt full after. - The lady had halloumi tacos. I had a bite. The bite I had was tasty as hell. I didn't hear any complaints coming from her side of the table. Mostly just smacking lips and "Mmmmm." Reckon the one knock on this place is the price. A little higher than I normally want to pay. But it won't break you. Worth visiting. read more
To Naive in the Butchertown neighborhood last Sunday for its fast casual, farm-to-table menu. Open for a little over a year, it serves lots of small plates and plenty of healthy food. When I first heard about Naive, it was described as a vegetarian restaurant. As I checked out the menu, I was pleasantly surprised at the diversity of offerings. The couple who own Naive, moved here from Washington DC. They picked Louisville because of its vibrant restaurant scene and the lack of "healthyish" food. I love cucumber vodka, so the Green Queen is a must as I get seated. For my starter, General Tso's Cauliflower, packing some Chinese heat. A true signature. Top selling menu item. Although I was ready to order the Tuna Poke for my entree, my server Abby, recommended the Lamb Bolognese. It was hearty, spicy and filling. Everything about this meal was spot-on. Great server, superb food, quick service, fun environment and lots of value for your dollar. read more

Came to Louisville for one night and stopped in Naïve for dinner & drinks. I ordered the Big Fig Energy, and damn, it's one of my favorite cocktails I've ever ordered! They made it nice & strong too; I was catching a buzz after a few sips. The drinks are very balanced, strong, and not too sweet. The food was tasty. We got the Nashville Hot Cauliflower. The cornmeal breading was a nice change from normal, the ranch dip was good, but a side of tangy hot sauce would have made this dish really exceptional. We also ordered the risotto & lamb burger, which felt healthy and were perfectly sized portions. The servers are friendly and attentive & the place is very cute inside. read more

Hipster spot with good food is how I would define Naive. Location does not have a lot of parking, as it is street parking. The interior is small and very well decorated. However, there are some very small tables along the wall for 2 people that would only fit the plate of 1 person. I went for brunch on a Saturday and it was not overly crowded so we were able to get a table. I got the smoked salmon grit cakes, which were small but packed with flavor! Capers were on top and I love capers so I may be biased. Everyone at my table said their food was delicious and the presentation was great! There are vegan and veggie options as well. One thing to note, when I went the brunch did not have any drink specials or brunch specials. Just the menu. read more
