Hanging out with the Persians in Westwood
    Crystal G.

Went to Westwood to see my Persian best friend he loves hookah. I am not a big fan of hookah lounges. My days of inhaling smoke in my lungs are over. My request was a healthy restaurant. If you order right the food is delicious and healthy well besides the smoke. I would've given them a complete five stars but my biggest pet peeve is commercials. I don't want to hear your Spotify commercials at your restaurant. Ambience is everything it's just a couple more dollars for a straight vibe..

Always a solid quick option when I'm in Westwood. Perfect for meeting friends and the food is always delicious. The chicken kebab and steak sandwich are my longtime favorites. Service is always great and everyone's friendly.

Amazing food and excellent service! The kebab is very delicious and flavorful! The person at the front desk was very friendly, welcoming, and attentive

Ordered through ubereats, since they have a bogo promotion on a couple of their items. I got the chicken kabob and the dolma. It arrived at my door well packaged and warm. The dolma was nice, little bites of rice wrapped in grape leaves that give you a bit of savory, a bit of sour, and bit of freshness. I don't think I'd get it normally at the price point listed on the ubereats app (about $11), but it's not bad. The chicken kabob plate came with some salad, cucumber, a nice bed of rice, and a tomato, as well as a slice of lemon. The chicken was perfectly cooked, plump and juicy, though it could've been a bit more flavorful. The bit of salad was also surprisingly nice with the house dressing. The lemon added a nice bit of contrast to everything. Overall, a bit pricey, but not bad.

Got the lamb koobideh plate and the meat was so so delicious and flavorful. Comes with a half salad that does not skimp either. Fresh spring greens, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and beets!! With a yummy dill yogurt sauce I also used to dip the meat. Big portions I ended up splitting for two meals. PARKING/ metered only

This place had a nice vibe, decor, and outside eating area. They serve big portions and have a great value during lunch time. Their lunch offers half portions which are still large. The food was fresh and prepared well. Absolutely loved their hummus it's a must have. Service was wonderful staff and helpful, accommodating, and friendly. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars but the flavors were missing from the food I would have liked more seasoning everything was bland in my opinion. They don't offer enough sauces I would love to see more variety.

One of my favorite Persian places on Westwood! Their chicken kabobs are incredibly juicy and flavorful, and the beef kabobs are equally delicious. It's hands down one of the best places for Persian food. Plus, the service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

Started ordering to go here a few days ago and I am hooked! Every time I call in for request like extra dressing / fish on side etc. they're super kind and follow it Food is fresh and tasty They aren't stringy with their portions it's a nice amount to get full on. Things they need to improve on- I just wish they would be a bit more generous with the feta cheese on the Greek salad... I feel like it's definitely needs more White dressing has sugar- it's way too sweet and very odd. I'm very confused why they add sugar The Greek dressing is too acidic - very strong. Feels a bit when not proportional. Over all very happy. I hope they'll take my feedback into consideration. Itl rly make things better

Bottle shown for 5 bucks. I got a can

Ordered online for my husband via Uber Eats. The food was nicely presented but what irritated me was the dessert I ordered. In the picture it was a square cute in half, two triangles. I only received one triangle so HALF. It was placed right in the center of a huge plastic container: it wasn't the delivery driver because it's so wet that it would have been an imprint from the other. It was only the one I lifted. Not cool for almost 8 DOLLARS! Then I ordered a regular bottle of coke like the picture advertised. I got a can FOR 5 DOLLARS. I don't like that. I DO NOT TRUST THEM SO I WILL NEVER ORDER AGAIN

    Lamb Shank
    Debbie L.

One of our favorite late night spots. The lamb shank is huge and cooked to perfection, and the kebabs are always delicious. Their barley soup is a must order!! The side of sumac puts it over the top. While I do wish the rice was more flavorful, it gets the job done. I've never tried hookah here but have dined in, plus we get takeout at least every other week. It's always poppin' inside though! No matter what day or time.

Not sure why, but since there have been other locations around the LA area over the past several years, maybe they're just moving again. I wish them all the best! To Anwar and staff, thank you for the delicious and healthy food over the years, and for running a tight ship. I hope I see that Wolverine mural pop up somewhere else, soon!

Not…read more"pretty good for takeout," not "good on a lucky day," just genuinely solid every single time. This time, I went with the Anwar Style Chicken Shawarma to try something new. The portion size alone is impressive. The container is packed and feels substantial the moment you pick it up. The base is a bed of fries, and these are not just filler. They are thick, well seasoned, and sturdy enough to handle all the toppings without turning into a soggy mess. On top of the fries is a generous amount of chicken. The chicken tastes freshly cooked, with that warm, savory flavor you expect from good shawarma, never dry and never overly salty. There are pita chips mixed in, which add a great crunch and texture against the fries and chicken. Multiple sauces are drizzled throughout the dish. I chose a side of their spicy sauce. The creamy white sauce balances things out, while the orange sauce brings a mild heat and a little extra depth. None of the sauces overpower the dish, they work together to coat everything evenly and keep every bite flavorful. Diced tomatoes and corn adds a touch of sweetness that surprisingly works really well here. A sprinkle of herbs throughout helps brighten everything up and keeps the dish from feeling too heavy, even though it is definitely filling. This is comfort food done right. It is messy in the best way, packed with flavor, at least to me it was. If you are looking for something hearty, satisfying, and consistently well made, I will always recommend Anwar's Kitchen. Anwar's Kitchen delivers quality food, and I will keep ordering from them.

It was also annoying for the waitress (not the gal that served us btw - a host perhaps) to give the vibe like they were doing us a favor by applying the $50 Birthday promo that THEY send via email (note, I verbally this flagged when we arrived just in case - but they didn't initially have it on our bill). My head is thinking "calm down--we ate minimally and got drinks. Don't offer it if you're going to have an attitude about adjusting the bill". It was just weird. They also didn't offer any bday dessert treat but we weren't super pressed bc we were so full. The meat was a bit overdone and all kind of tasted the same this visit. Didn't get to try the lamb chops and a few other meats, but still has a nice variety. Salad bar is top notch and consistent, although wish their black beans were plain due to all the meat. Drinks were ok--heavy pours but lower quality wine. The $29 "Wine Experience" package was worth it for my husband who likes variety of wines with his dinner depending on what he's eating. I'm sure I'll come again but it's been bumped a few notches on my Go To list.
