Passing through Texarkana, this is a great spot right on the Texas-Arkansas border. Make sure to ask for the hot BBQ sauce. EAT HERE! We were passing through Texarkana for the evening and looking to have some bbq for dinner. Naaman's is rated highly for good reason. Menu is simple and I appreciate that because it makes ordering simple. Restaurant was clean and staff were friendly and accommodating. We had sandwiches including brisket and pulled pork. Each of our sandwiches were perfect! Buns were soft and fresh and the sauces were tasty, honorable mention to the mustard bbq sauce. Fries were 5/5, crinkle cut, crispy, perfect. Fried pickles and green beans were out of this world paired with the house made ranch. Mac and cheese was really good, not life changing, but good for a bbq spot. Fried okra were good if you like okra. Overall really awesome dinner spot! Prices were reasonable which makes the overall experience even better. Oh my gosh. From the service to the food to the decor. I want to video the bathroom and have my bathroom in my house exactly like it. It was so cool. The flusher is a chain from the ceiling and the sink is so pretty. Now for the service- Lacey was so stinking sweet. Kept our drinks full and offered drinks to go. Food- we both got the 1/2 lbs plates. I got the brisket -lean end which was perfect in flavor and texture, and pork ribs which fell off the bone. The sides were fried okra which were again, perfect. Crisp and great taste, and Cole slaw which was also perfect. Sweet and crunchy. Boyfriend got the brisket and sausage- he said the sausage was "very very good... very good-flavorful and juicy. Some of the best meat I've ever put in my mouth." Mac and cheese was creamy made with a thicker penne noodle and white cheese. Beans were excellent, lots of brisket in them with a hint of sweetness. The food is super good with excellent service; T is the outstanding lady who helps us sort everything out. We ordered all the meat on the menu; pulled pork and smoked chicken breast are my favorites, and four side dishes, meat in the bean is the best. After the meal, we buy a Keylime pie for take home. Extremely disappointed. Ordered 1.5 lbs of sliced brisket and 1lb of sausage to go. There was so much fat on the brisket that I don't even think I got half a pound of edible meat. And the sausage was so incredibly dry. I was really looking forward to eating and it being amazing because the smell of the meat and establishment were delicious. The sauce was the best thing I received. Service was lacking as well. The woman behind the counter was clearly flustered and I watched 2 people with a baby come in and get completely ignored but a larger party walked in and they were helped right away. But, since we placed our order the waitress has come by and canceled 2 of the 5 pork chop orders. Then she just came out an hour and a half after our order was place to let us know she canceled 2 of the 2 short rib orders. Just a perfect update on Old West x American Retro x BBQ joint x Lounge / Hipster--balanced with precision. Hostess was super friendly. Waitress was okay. Staff in general are great. Unfortunately, the execution of the food itself was probably infinitely better at the original location across the street (which should have had a visible sign dIrecting us). It was good but not great BBQ. And gotta say--totally expected because all that time and attention put into the aesthetics doesn't normally connect to the food. What a great place! The staff was very friendly and helpful with refills, silverware, and napkins. The restaurant was a cute mix of industrial (from the old car shop days) and feminine. The meat was very tender and juicy. I really enjoyed the potato salad and coleslaw. Will not go back, First yep Staff Is friendly and helpful but BBQ is not worth the trip. Way too much fat and not enough flavor. The Cold Slaw is good, they use mustard and also the Cheese Corn. Prices for BBQ & sides are way out of line. They are building a new place across the street but I don't want to be the one paying for the new building myself. Ribs were very tender and had a nice seasoning on it. You are served by ordering at what looks like a hostess stand and food is cooked in a food truck. It's a quaint gas station with quirky tables that don't match. 3 ribs, coleslaw and beans were over $15. If this was a $9 plate this would get 5 stars, but it's priced like it's a real grown up place. You have to go find your napkins, get your drinks, and more. Don't get me wrong the staff was friendly but the portions were more then a little shy if ridiculous for what I paid. I spent half as much at popeyes chicken and was actually satisfied. I don't know why this is called championship bbq but I'd hate to see the runner up. The food ain't bad but it ain't worth the sticker price. Sorry but I'll not be returning.
