We drove two hours from Hotspring Arkansas just to try out their BBQ. We ordered 3/4lbs of brisket and ribs, cheesy corn and baked beans sides. The brisket is simply touch and comes apart, amazing flavor, ribs were crazy good. The cheesy corn looks weird but Delicious inside your mouth. I loved baked beans anyway, but their is exceptionally good. Almost too much meat in with the beans. I dipped the brisket with the baked, I think that made it even better! We evacuated for hurricane ida and stayed at the hotel close by, during our evacuation we ate there 3 times and ordered some food to take back to New Orleans, they never disappointed us, everything we ordered was delicious, all the meat was super tender, even the country fried steak, the staff was always super friendly and had a smile on their face, the manager hooked us up with the large order we placed for the people of New Orleans, thank you to the entire staff, we will definitely be back before we go back home read more

When you find yourself in Texarkana, you gotta get BBQ. We wound up at Naamans on a recommendation. I ordered the lean brisket meat plate with green beans. The meat was good. The spicy sauce was good as well. I really liked the mustard sauce. Nice place. Good service. Looks like the outdoor patio is the spot to sit. Oh my! The brisket and pulled pork were on point. My wife and I had a little of both. The brisket past the "pull" test. The pulled pork was nice and tender and not too fatty. The sides we had were great. The cheesy corn, green beans, macaroni and cheese, and beans with meat were great. Really can't go wrong in my opinion with any one. The soda pop is something else. We both tried the "huckleberry" Soda. The lady that works there called it "liquid crack" . It not only was different but down right tasty. The place just gives off a good vibe. We saw this place on the Texas Bucketlist YouTube show and it piqued our interest. The service was awesome and fast! Our waitress recommended the sausage and the brisket and they offer the option of fatty or lean.. The food was spectacular! The environment is comfortable. I felt at home as we ate the delicious bbq. The sides are not an afterthought! They were amazing. I want a huge bowl of that super cheesy Mac and cheese! Everything tastes terrific because they make it there! No canned veggies or premade frozen products here! The cheesy corn, was great. My husband really liked that corn and he is super picky and usually steers clear of corn. The bathrooms were super clean but also oddly whimsical with the chain flushers and trough like faucet. That handle on the faucet was problematic because after I washed my hands I didn't want to turn it off without a paper towel which was on another wall... but that is a first world problem so... another criticism that I had was with the meat and beans. They were a little soupy for my taste. They seemed to need some Baking to make them easier to eat with a fork and thicker. I just used the standard store bought white bread as a tray underneath each bite of beans as they dripped all the way from the bowl to my mouth. The bread was good .. I'm not sure if they make it but they choose a good bread. It would be awesome if they made the bread in the restaurant. Also the sausage is really good. I liked every sauce and I wound up mixing them together. Delicious! We will be back! It's our new favorite when we visit on drive through Texarkana!! Good job Naamans!! read more

Stopped for lunch and saw Naaman's - Shuler I'm sometimes nervous that an unknown BBQ joint will over-smoke their meat, not here. These guys know what they're doing and love it. Order taker a little straight forward but she was busy - the rest of the staff were very friendly. Pork has enough smoke to enjoy and choices of BBQ were vinegar based or mustard based, the later was spicy and must also be used in the beans which had a bit of spice as well along with pieces of pork! The cooking happens in their food truck and is brought in to you. The soft drinks are local craft and phenomenal - started with the creme soda and went to the coconut lime! In town on business. What better way to pack lunches then to load up on BBQ and make it last. Naaman's Championship BBQ is supposed to be some of the finest around so I think I've found my lunches. I grabbed a lb and a half of Brisket and Sausage. 5 Star No Doubt! Excellent BBQ. Some of the best brisket I have ever had and the sausage was amazing too. The Brisket was well seasoned, not overboard, had a nice smoke ring and a great bark. Sausage had a kick to it but nothing that would turn off even the more sensitive of pallets. I got 4 containers of BBQ sauce. I think it may be two containers of two sauces. Good BBQ requires no sauce and...no offense...I didn't try the sauce. BBQ is too good for sauce. We we're told it was the best place for BBQ. Boy they were wrong. We ordered the 3/4 pound platter. Chicken, sausage and brisket was the meats. The sausage was the absolute worst tasting!! We had 2 pieces of sliced (very dry) chicken and 2 pieces of small brisket and a piece of the brisket fat! And I don't say that lightly! Coleslaw not only tasted old but looked it as well. Let's talk about the real star of the dish here, the cole slaw! Holy moly, that was the best dang cole slaw I've ever eaten. I could eat a meal of just that. The chicken was good, but probably not the star of their menu, but again I went the "healthy route". The meat and beans were too sweet for my liking, especially with the very sweet BBQ sauce. I love the way they decorate the restaurant, the antiques are cool. I could spend an hour sitting there enjoying the decor. Their food was delicious. I had pork ribs, brisket, beans and coleslaw. All of them were good. What I loved most was the BBQ sauce; it was soooo tasty and had a lot of flavour! ^_^ Actually, the pork ribs was a little bit salty, but when I put the BBQ sauce on, it made them good! After placing my order at the counter and getting my drink, the waitress delivered my food quickly. While eating, the dining room server provided awesome customer service. She did almost everything for me, she brought me a fork, a spoon, napkins, sauces, refilled my drink, asked me a few times if everything was okay, took my empty plates to the trash can, etc. The only thing she didn't do was TO FEED ME! lol I was so impressed that this typically stingy girl tipped her 30% rather than my normal 15%. Brisket. It's like biting into a rich, fluffy piece of cake. That's just the texture of the brisket, as the taste needs no BBQ sauce. I'm in heaven with this delicious brisket. Yum. The atmosphere of this place is just fantastic -- an old gas station on the state line. The porch lights are set inside 5 gallon buckets hanging from the awning. Then there's the bus where the que is barbied. It's parked next to the cash register, where the clerk yells orders out the window. Just awesome. Oh yes, there's also sides. I had twice baked potatoes, which had some kind of meat chunks mixed in. By itself, it would have been awesome. But, it is overshadowed by delicious brisket. Brisket... I also had something called "meat in the beans", which could also have been a freestanding delicious focus. But, brisket. I would give this place 6 stars. Perhaps I'll steal a star from another of my reviews, because whatever restaurant that was, it is no match for this place. read more

This is based on a single visit but... If you're in the area thinking "Well this place is rated really well but I'm not sure if I want barbecue right now..." you need to just go. Very friendly staff, the food was just great. The meat is cooked off site in the AM and brought in (so they told me) which explained why they were out of certain things when I visited. I did go restively near closing (as in they closed while I was there) and that's a pretty sure sign that all the barbecue is the real deal. The cheesy corn was indeed something you've never had anything "quite like" and the twice baked potatoes were great too. I am a bit sad they were out of ribs because judging from the brisket and pork, they must be fantastic! I had the blasphemer and sampled from others In my party. Loved the. Blasphemer but didn't sample the coleslaw on its own.
