Prantha (2.99) chai.. chicken tikka masala (12.99)
    Victor G.

Naan N Masala wasn't easy to find initially as the street isn't continuous. Disconnected for a block. It's in a run down shopping center with a few tenants. Was greeted soon upon entering. Ordered tikka masala instead of Chicken-65 at cashiers suggestion. Was told none of entrees are "hot". Offerings: appetizers, vegetarian, non-veg., desserts, breads, rice, desserts.. Eats: chicken tikka masala (12.99) -chicken pieces semi-flavorless, flavor obviously went into masala sauce. -tikka masala had bold flavors in a moderately spicy cream sauce. -slight spiciness not from chilis, from other herbs & spices. -traveled well.. Plain parantha (2.99) -fried wheat flour layered bread fluffy & warm after 30 minutes travel. -healthier than naan's white flour... Drink: chai comped -nice full bodied flavor, self serviced. Take outs: -large dining area with flatscreen showing Bollywood movies. -lots of parking in runned down parking lot.

Uniqueness: No crowds literally and yet the food here is authentic as it could be. Wait Time: [x][x][x][x][x] Food Quality: [x][x][x][ ][ ] Service: [x][x][x][x][ ] Setting: [x][x][x][x][ ] Cost: [x][x][x][ ][ ] Recommendation? Definitely get the puri or garlic naan for starters, Biryani as your main side and have butter chicken if you want to feel safe or get the goat curry if you're feeling spicy adventurous. Naan n Masala deserves more attention than what it's currently been seeing since the pandemic passed. The place is literally a hole in the wall place that serves excellent Indian food at a somewhat decent price for huge portions. You have your typical butter chicken and chicken tikka masala to your palak paneer and puri appetizers, you'll find plenty of various Indian dishes to choose from with service that is on average pretty quick. The fact that all the times I've been here seeing no line means you won't have to wait at all and if you want, you could get some food to go as well. I hope this place will last long in it's current state and whenever I'm craving great Indian food, I'll definitely come back for more.

All horrible and bad. No flavor, over watered, chicken was sponge like texture. Awful.

0 stars Food was beyond awful and we ended paying about $50 and left hungry rather than eat any more beyond sample bites. We should not have trusted the 800+ reviews. We ordered: 1. lentils Watery, as if they ultra thinned out with just plain water No flavor The lentils were not the right color 2. Chicken with chickpeas The only decent plate at 2/5 stars Chicken was cooked well There was no flavor 3.Chicken The texture of this chicken was like sponge. It tasted not Indian but like re-microwaved leftover bad Chinese fast food We could not touch this beyond a bite. 4. Rice OK 5. Naan The quality is like bulk ones you get from costco 6. Mango Lassi Taste odd Very watered down. As if it had not been mixed. Never going back. Other: the restroom was completely out of soap.

The butter chicken here was well seasoned, with lots of good sized chunks of chicken, a bit spicy for me but too delicious to stop eating. The plain naan was nice and toasty, and went so well with the curry, the entire meal perfectly filling. I ordered in advance online this past Saturday, and though I was quoted half an hour wait time, it was ready in about 10 minutes (it's good I arrived early, so my food wouldn't get cold). The place was bright and clean with lots of indoor seating, and the staff was friendly at the counter when I picked up. Also, plenty of parking in the quiet little plaza where the restaurant is located, to add to the convenience.

Went to naan n masala last week after seeing this place pop up numerous times, and honestly so glad we did! We picked up food from this place for dinner and it was very cold inside so we decided to eat back at home. We ended up ordering: *butter chicken - this was delicious and the sauce was so creamy and flavorful , I wish it came with more chicken but the food tasted good * reshmi chicken kabob - this kabob was very flavorful and yummy, it was made of ground chicken with lots of spices *plain/garlic naan - delicious and flavorful and went well with the butter chicken *aloo paratha - this was not as good/flavorful as we wanted and couldn't really taste the filling, would probably skip next time Overall, food was yummy though and at a pretty good price point!

We ordered our food Togo. The employee over the phone seemed a bit confused taking our order. He said 20-25 mins the food should be ready. We had to pick up food for a friend as well, which ordered 15 mins earlier than me. I got to the restaurant 35 mins later and both orders were still not ready. The employee could not find the orders and was so confused with their own system that I ended up having to help him find our orders. He kept asking for the order names even after we found the orders. It was quite frustrating. We ended up waiting for another 35-40 mins. Aside from the frustrating pick up, the food made up for it. We ordered: - butter chicken - so good! - chicken tikka masala - good, but the butter chicken was much better - palak paneer - delicious - samosa - good - garlic naan (hard to tell if I like it since it took so long to enjoy it. It was soft and no crust to it by the time we ate. Definitely will order again. Hopefully they learn their systems better so we don't run into the same issue.

Naan N Masala probably has the tastiest and most affordable Indian food I've ever tried. During the pandemic, there is only take out order. The staff will take your order right at the front door and call your name when your food is ready. There are plenty of parking as it is located in a hidden, but quite large plaza. I usually order butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, plain naan and garlic naan. The last time I went there, the bill came out about $30 which was not bad at all. It fed me and boyfriend to the fullest level, and we still had leftover. The containers might look small, but it was packed to the max level. Both butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were spicy (just at the right level), flavorful, rich but not too heavy, and they came with a good amount of chicken. Personally, I didn't eat much of the chicken as I loved the sauce way too much and that was all I wanted to eat. Both kinds of naan were fluffy, nicely baked and garlic naan has a nice garlic aroma. Everything just paired well together. Obviously, I have no complaint for this place and will keep coming back.

I came back and ordered a paneer tikka masala, malai kofta, and three orders of plain naan since I was sharing food with two other people. Both the dishes were rich, thick, and oily, and a little bit spicy (if you're someone like me who can only handle a mild level of spice, make sure to ask for it to be mild or low spiciness). The food was pretty good, though, and ready on time for pickup.

Post an awesome workout and a group of friends looking for a good bite, the intentions guided us to Naan and Masala. Even before arriving there we had already placed our order on the phone and they were kind enough to ack the order and keep it hot and ready to be served. Upon arriving the table was all set and we had Kadai Chicken, chicken curry and daal fry along with onion kulcha , garlic naans and a butter naan and ordered more naans down the line along with goat curry as well. Delicious food and amazingly hospitable crew on the ground made our experience fantastic and beyond amazing. I ended up ordering a couple of naans along with butter chicken ( which I didn't like as much - didn't taste great ) and palak paneer. All in all a great experience and would definitely come back for more, though not for their butter chicken :)

Definitely a language barrier when you call to place a phone order, but that's not an issue. I heard from a few folks the food is pretty good BUT I beg to differ cause not only did they not give me the chutney for my simosas, I also ordered 2 order of Raita & they did not give me & I was charged. Scimpy on the rice when I ordered 4 servings. Butter Chicken WAYYY too oily & greedy on the chicken. Everything we did order had there own flavors of yumminess but, I will not be ordering from this place again. The best thing we all decided on was The Garlic Naan, disappointing because when your craving a certain food & your excited to eat it when it arrives then (BOOO) you think not only did you waste over $100, you were trynna support a family owned business, the food was not to your standards. But, that's why we're yelpers right?

This is one of those hidden gems in Milpitas that serves one of the best homemade Indian cuisine. This place is literally situated in the far back corner of the Fiesta Shopping Center, which is another hole in a wall shopping center. If you are capable of finding this place, congratulations, you have found the diamond in the rough. Currently open for take out during Covid. Naan N Masala has been a restaurant I've been secretly going to because of pure selfish reasons. The lines can sometimes get ridiculous, even during Covid. It's that touch of home that makes this restaurant special. Every time I visit this restaurant, I feel like I'm just visiting my uncle and getting food at the same time. I love their Aloo Gobi and their butter chicken. Their garlic naan feels right at home. I can never get enough. Their Biryani is insanely good especially their lamb biryani. For those who aren't used to spice and season, stop reading. This isn't the place for you. This is a place where the owners have decided to keep thing real and authentic, just like home. Join the family and visit this place.

Buffet available all seven days, weekend buffet is slightly more expensive but has a larger spread. **AMBIANCE: large floor to ceiling height but the place is small, it felt real cramped during the weekend buffet when it was packed with people. Their service area is also tight. They had to put two dishes in each chaffing dish to optimize. Weekday buffet was not as packed and i infact saw a huge corporate team gathered for lunch. ***FOOD: doesn't feel like a luxurious buffet due to lack of space but they did have a decent spread with 3-4 veggie appetizers, 3-4 non veg appetizers, 4-5 desserts, Pani puri, fresh table side naan (which was done very beautifully), two varieties of biryani, fried rice, indo Chinese items, 3-4 varieties of non veg curries, 3-4 varieties of veg curries, salad, drinks etc. As with any buffet there will be hits and misses, I for one enjoyed the varied options and the unlimited Pani puri though it was on the sweeter side. The weekend buffet was definitely worth the price tag of $23, the weekday buffet on the other day felt expensive at $20 as the number of items were significantly lower.

Yelp knows me pretty well by now. It knows I like Indian food, so Vande Bharat kept popping up in…read moremy recommendations. It's been sitting there for a while, so the wifey and I finally decided to drive down to Milpitas and give this Thali place a try. I'm glad we did because their Thali is probably one of the best we've had, if not the best. FYI Thali is LUNCH only. Here is my take. Food (4.5 stars) +The Combo Thali for around $18 is the way to go. Don't overthink it and don't order anything else. You get a little bit of everything, which is exactly why we like Thali. If there's something you don't like, just give it to your partner. My wife doesn't like lamb, so I ended up with double lamb. Bonus for me! + Lamb curry was probably my favorite. Tender meat with a flavorful curry and it went perfectly with the rice. Since my wife donated hers to me, I had plenty! + Fried fish is also very good. You don't get a huge piece, but with so many other things on the plate, it's enough. That's the beauty of Thali--you get a few bites of everything instead of committing to one giant dish. + Chicken curry was also good. Nothing on the plate really needs to be eaten by itself because everything complements each other. You get savory, spicy, sour and even a little sweet throughout the meal. + There are also the usual Thali sides like dal, sumbar, yogurt, dessert and another sour/soupy dish. Rice sits right in the middle and you basically mix and match your way through the entire plate. + I also really like the papadum. It's that thin crispy Indian cracker that gives you a nice crunchy break between all the curries and softer foods. ~ PRO TIP: The only thing to consider is whether you prefer a Thali or an Indian buffet. At a buffet, you can essentially get many of these same types of dishes and eat as much as you want. With a Thali, you're getting smaller portions of everything. Personally, I like the variety and having everything served together, especially when the combo is only around $18. Service/Ambiance (4.5 stars) + We came during lunch and there was only one other customer while we were there, so service was good and the food came out rather quickly. + The restaurant has some really nice paintings along the walls. Some of the scenery almost looked Mediterranean to me, although I'm assuming they're depicting places somewhere in India. Either way, they add some character to the restaurant. + It's a comfortable, casual place to sit down and enjoy a Thali without much fuss. GET THE COMBO! You get fish, lamb, chicken, rice, dal, sides, dessert and all the little extras that make eating Thali fun. Between the two of us, if one person doesn't like something, the other person probably will. In my case, that strategy resulted in double lamb, so I definitely wasn't complaining. Wifey gives Vande Bharat 4.5 stars and I'm right there with her. For the price, variety and flavors, this is easily one of our favorite Thali meals we've had. Yelp got this recommendation right!

So far my experiences here have been pleasant, with the service being friendly and there being an ample amount of seating inside. I've noticed that the food tends to run on the spicier side (we ordered mild and yet it was still spicy, though perhaps just a sign of my spice tolerance failing me), but outside of that it tasted good. Panni Puri - This was my first time trying a panni puri and it tasted really good, even though I found it spicy (we ordered mild). I especially loved the texture of the onions inside of it. I ate it earlier on which made it harder for me to tell which other dishes were spicy and which ones weren't at the time as a result of its lingering spiciness, but I would happily order it again given the opportunity. Punugulu/Veggie Puff/Vegetarian Fried Rice - All three of these were good and I do recall them being non-spicy. The veggie puff was especially refreshing after trying to get through the paneer pulav Mirchi Bajji - These were also good and surprisingly not as spicy as I thought they would be, considering that they have chili peppers in them Naan with House Vegetable Curry - The vegetable curry was really spicy and it took me a while to realize this because I was still dealing with the effects of the panni puri while I was eating this. Had I not brought some of it home as leftovers I probably would've thought that this was non-spicy Paneer Pulav - Much spicier than expected. I needed to use some of the curd to tone it down but it was still good. The texture of the rice was good too The cold drinks on their menu come in a reusable bottle and from their display I can assume that their desserts are the same way. So far the ones I've tried (mango lassi, rose milk, and chikoo shake) have been refreshing. There's also a falooda section that closes at around 8:00 pm, but I haven't been able to try them yet as both times we got there past eight. Overall a pleasant experience in spite of the spiciness. Perhaps one day I'll be strong enough to handle it without the curd, but it'll probably take a couple of additional visits before I can.

I was seated immediately, no wait, and the restaurant only had a few tables of people. The inside was bright and had plenty of tables. The noise was mainly from the mall. There was a large neon blackboard with the day's special clearly stated. There were two people working the dining room taking orders, cleaning up tables, and bringing out the food. They were friendly taking and confirming my order. The menu covered all the usual dishes you might see at an Indian restaurant. And since one of the specials was butter chicken combo, I ordered that along with a paneer Manchurian with garlic naan. I didn't know what Manchurian flavor meant but it's like orange chicken but instead with paneer. It was pretty good. The paneer seemed to be pan fried before tossed in the sauce and topped with green onion. I would order this again. The butter chicken was also pretty good. It wasn't too heavy with butter and had a good amount of chicken. Chunks of chicken just floating in the sauce. The garlic naan was flatter and crispier than other Indian restaurants I've been too, but it was ok and did its job of being a vessel for the sauces. I would come back to try the wraps and curry next time. Other tables ordered these items and they looked really good.

This place is for eating there only. They have benches. Sunny and Love both were awesome. I ordered Chole Kulcha, Chili Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Chap, Roomali Roti; Chole Kulcha- I don't have to eat Chole with it. Kulcha itself was very good, crispy and filled with masala. 5 star Chili Chicken- Quality of chicken matters the most. It was very good. 5 star Tandoori Chicken- Quality was great. Juicy, need to eat there only. 5 Star Chap- Need to eat right away. Don't let it wait otherwise it will loose its texture and taste. Taste when it is hot, good mixture of spices and chutneys with it. Onion enhances the flavor of it. 5 Star Roomali Roti- probably the best Roomali roti. Does not matter where they make it. They put butter on it. It does not get chewy or gets dry. 5 Star Sunny and Love they work hard to make it happen. Kudos to them. Noticed, while I was dining, two people came in and expected them to deliver right away and they left. Guys, give them a break, Truck opens at 4:00pm they have to set up the Tandoor it takes time atleast 45 min. To warm up. You can't expect to serve tandoori items right away.
