Ordered tikka masala instead of Chicken-65 at cashiers suggestion. Was told none of entrees are "hot". Offerings: appetizers, vegetarian, non-veg., desserts, breads, rice, desserts.. Eats: chicken tikka masala (12.99) -chicken pieces semi-flavorless, flavor obviously went into masala sauce. -tikka masala had bold flavors in a moderately spicy cream sauce. -slight spiciness not from chilis, from other herbs & spices. -traveled well.. We dined here as a party of four on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was nearly empty when we went, so seating was not an issue. The restaurant is self service for plates, utensils, water, and tea. We didn't realize and so we were confused for a bit at the beginning. We decided to order a few dishes so that we could get a variety of flavors. The Palak Paneer was pretty good. I thought that the dish could use more cheese, but the spinach paste was not bad. It was missing the fatty flavor and texture you get with more cheese. The Keema Matar and Paneer Tikka Masala felt really watered down. One of my Indian friends familiar with the dishes also pointed out that the Keema Matar was more sour than what she expected. We picked up food from this place for dinner and it was very cold inside so we decided to eat back at home. The employee could not find the orders and was so confused with their own system that I ended up having to help him find our orders. He kept asking for the order names even after we found the orders. Naan N Masala probably has the tastiest and most affordable Indian food I've ever tried. During the pandemic, there is only take out order. The staff will take your order right at the front door and call your name when your food is ready. There are plenty of parking as it is located in a hidden, but quite large plaza. I usually order butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, plain naan and garlic naan. The last time I went there, the bill came out about $30 which was not bad at all. It fed me and boyfriend to the fullest level, and we still had leftover. The containers might look small, but it was packed to the max level. Both butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were spicy (just at the right level), flavorful, rich but not too heavy, and they came with a good amount of chicken. Personally, I didn't eat much of the chicken as I loved the sauce way too much and that was all I wanted to eat. Both kinds of naan were fluffy, nicely baked and garlic naan has a nice garlic aroma. Although this is a hole in a wall place, it's one of my go to place when craving Indian cuisine. No fancy frills but straight up Indian comfort food. These are my favorite ones to order. Butter chicken is so good and to my taste bud. (Over the years I have cut down on my sodium intake) . Biryanis. Although the mild version still spicy to my taste bud, still tasty . The only thing I can comment on is to lessen the saltiness. My other favorites are the Channa Masala and Palak Panner. The vegetable are always tender. Even before arriving there we had already placed our order on the phone and they were kind enough to ack the order and keep it hot and ready to be served. Upon arriving the table was all set and we had Kadai Chicken, chicken curry and daal fry along with onion kulcha , garlic naans and a butter naan and ordered more naans down the line along with goat curry as well. I loved this place and we came eating in or take out many times but I don't know what happened recently their food is just not made fresh on a daily. Let me explain, I went in on a Friday early dinner and ordered a chicken tikka masala ,lamb biriyani and 2 naan. I started with tikka, best taste and ordered some extra onions with my biriyani. While I was waiting for the onions I started on my tikka. Half way through I started smelling some foul odor like when you leave food out and it smells. I took two bites of my biriyani and tasted ok but the smell was there, I continued on my tikka and onions came (pickled) . Foul odor continued and I asked the front desk uncle to smell it. Immediately he said I'll give you chicken biriyani for sure is fresh. He exchanged it at no charge but I was disappointed this happened. The butter chicken came with generous helpings of tandoori chicken inside -- not tough but not overly tender either. The baingan bharta was not bad, but also not the best I've had. I agree with the other ratings, Naan n Masala doesn't mess around with the spice levels -- these curries definitely came with a kick! The garlic naan was had good garlic flavor but also didn't wow us. The complimentary chai was aiite but free is our favorite flavor. 0.5/1 Stars for Value -- At $8-11 a dish, the portion sizes were generous. But then you add the cost of naan or rice ($2-3) and you can end up paying almost buffet prices for one meat dish and a single serving of carbs. An iconic staple for Indian food cravings when in South Bay. It is the kind of place that has a loyal following and rightfully so! The food is excellent - the ambiance is reminiscent of the dhabas you find on the roadside while driving in northern India towards Delhi. The food is delicious: palak paneer is great, butter chicken is saucy uttterly butterly yum, scoop it up with some fluffy garlic naan or temper it with basmati rice. The typical Punjabi dishes are incredible - saarson ka saag and makki di roti, baingan bharta, aloo paratha are off the hook. The restaurant is sorta haflsies self service style. You seat yourself, go to the cashier and place your order and when you're done pay at the register. There's also an open fridge where you serve yourself your own pitcher of water or drinks and sodas you want. They also have chai tea on tap that you can help yourself to. I kinda like that convenience of not having to ask and wait to be served and having what I want right away. The food is good also. It's in a dingy area of Milpitas and the restaurant itself looks dingy with flickering lights and old decor. The naan was super dry too. I think the kicker was that the owner forgot about me being there..... he had told me it'd be 5 minutes and I waited in my car for 30. We arrived when it just opened at around 11pm , I think we were the first customer as there was no one at the cash register. However the worker was very nice and friendly.
