    Pani puri station outside
    Joanna S.

Small place but it seems popular amongst the locals. I liked the pani puri and the dal puri (with yogurt?) that I got! Price wasn't bad. Loved the snack. Not much seating inside but people came in and out for the pani puri station!

Stale chicken biryani! Felt like it was cooked a week back! Deserved the place in dustbin ! Never ordering from this plc

Paddu (dosa batter, coriander, onion, salt, chillies)
    Shristy A.

Recently had paddu there and it was perfectly done! Sambar wasn't sweet, totally on point! Three kinds of chutneys - so yum- one was with garlic, another spicy and the mandatory coconut chutney! He made the paddus with least or almost no oil per my request, definitely loved it. Tip: They are there with the stall everyday now, yayy!

Biryaniz is a restaurant in Milpitas, and has a live benne dosa corner. It has plenty of lot parking in the front and is located near other Asian dessert places. You order inside and stand in the line outside to wait for your dosa. We went on a Friday night and waited 10 minutes in line and 20 minutes for our dosas. There are also a few tables inside, but this place is mostly takeout for biryanis or people stand outside and eat their dosas. The decorations inside are nice but there's a few flies that can bug you. We ordered the onion dosa, Bangalore masala dosa, gunta punugulu, ghee karam dosa, and egg dosa. The benne dosas in general are thicker and closer to uttapams, but the batter and fillings have a nice flavor. The chutneys are authentic and complement the dishes nicely as well. The onion dosa was good but had too many green chilies for me, the gunta punugulu (8) were a good size, the ghee karam was my favorite, the Bangalore masala dosa was seasoned well and the egg dosa was a little salty. The size of the dosas were filling for one person if you're looking for a light dinner. I'd recommend trying the dosa stand once if you're in Milpitas with some time craving some street food!

Piece of chicken and paneer in Vijayawada Paneer Biryani
    Hardik S.

We ordered a Vijayawada Paneer Biryani for dinner. I was so excited and hungry, sadly to my disappointment I found a chicken piece in it which made my stomach hurt badly. If you are vegan or vegetarian or having allergies with animal products please avoid this place at all cost. Because all they can offer you is replacement of biryani. I won't recommend this place. It also hurt our belief of not having animal product in our diet.

Ordered from DoorDash. Opened the samosa box. Metal piece sticking out of one. I called the restaurant to let them know and they hung up on me.

Vijayawada Chicken 65 Biryani - Family Pack
    Roshan R.

I really wanted to like this place after the hype I received from some of my friends. So, I tried it twice though I didn't like it the first time. And nope, not worth another try. Dishes we tried on two different instances- chicken Hyderabadi biryani and Vijaywada chicken 65 biryani. Both the dishes were extremely salty. The second time, we literally cooked a cup of rice at home and mixed it with the biryani to make it edible. For rice lovers, the biryanis have very little rice and filled with only meats. Meat lovers will love it. Silver lining: the pani puri stand outside the restaurant. It's pretty good and reminds you of home. Staff members are professional and friendly. Not really a dine in place. Very limited seating, 2-3 tables.

    masala dosa bangalore style
    Swathi R.

Tried bengaluru style masala dose on a saturday midnight. Couldn't have asked for something better at 1am in the night. This is more street style kind of dosa. the dosa live stall is outside the restaurant and small. So it's stand in and eat place. There are only 2 dosas made at a time by 2 people so service can be a bit slow. Liked their peanut chutney. They had some other chutney and sambar to offer wasn't that great. We did not try any other item at this place.

    Pani puri
    Juhi S.

Absolutely love this place for pani puri and dosas. Personally, I love the masala dosa and I love the fact that it comes with three different chutneys of your choice! My favorite is the white coconut chutney. The dosa might be a bit on the thicker side for some people but for me I like it just perfect like that with the side of potato filling and chutney. This is my family's go to place for pani puri. I wasn't really a pani puri fan but it totally gives you the feel like you're back in India at a pani puri stall. The wait might be a little long depending on the day and time you go, especially if it's the weekend but totally worth it.

They have some sweets also along with biryani

Indian Canteen, Milpitas -- A Bollywood-Style Feast Worth the Wait…read more Ambience & Vibe Walk in and you're greeted by a wall-to-wall tribute to Bollywood--bright movie posters, upbeat Hindi tunes, and on weekend nights, live musicians who turn the dining room into a mini film-set concert. Traditional low tables invite you to kick off your shoes and settle onto floor cushions, instantly adding a cozy, almost homestyle feel. What We Ordered * Chicken Mandi - A show-stopping platter of fragrant basmati rice crowned with perfectly roasted chicken. The portion is generous (see photo!) and the spice profile leans savory-warm rather than tongue-scorching, so everyone at the table can dig in. * Mutton Curry - I rarely gamble on mutton when eating out, but this one converted me. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, swimming in a rich, slow-cooked gravy that balanced heat with a gentle hint of clove and cardamom. Absolutely outstanding. Service & Pace There's a sign at the entrance: "This is not fast food. Great taste takes time." Believe it. Dishes are cooked to order, so expect a leisurely wait. The staff checks in just enough to keep you updated, and once the platters hit the table you'll agree the patience tax is totally justified. Pro Tips 1. Go with friends--the mandi platter is made for sharing. 2. Weekends mean live music; arrive a bit early if you want prime floor-seat real estate. 3. Plan for 20-30 minutes from order to first bite; use the time to soak in the music and décor. Bottom Line Indian Canteen's mix of Bollywood flair, floor seating, and from-scratch cooking turns dinner into an experience. If you're craving authentic mandi and a mutton curry , mark this spot on your Milpitas food map--and don't forget to bring your patience and your camera.

It's a fully self-serve setup--you order and pay at the counter, pick up paper plates, plastic cutlery (which I'm personally not a fan of), and napkins from the front, and once you're done eating, you're expected to clear your table as well. Given all of this, the expectation of tipping feels a bit confusing. That said, we came here for the food--and it truly delivered. My husband is Bengali and was craving authentic Bengali food, so we decided to try this place over the weekend, and we absolutely loved it. We started with the mutton (goat) cutlet and Mughlai paratha. The mutton cutlet was adequately stuffed, fried crispy to perfection, and tasted really good. The Mughlai paratha by itself was just okay, but when paired with the aloo tarkari (potato curry) it became an instant hit. For the main course, we ordered chicken chow mein and Katla fish curry with white rice, and both dishes truly transported us straight to Kolkata. The flavors were incredibly authentic, homely, and comforting--exactly the kind of food you crave when you miss home. I really wanted to try rasgulla, but I was so full that I had to skip it this time. Definitely going back to try more items from the menu--purely for the food.
