I came here on a Saturday evening for dinner. I've been walking by this place for about a month and finally had the chance to check it out. I was seated immediately, no wait, and the restaurant only had a few tables of people. The inside was bright and had plenty of tables. The noise was mainly from the mall. There was a large neon blackboard with the day's special clearly stated. There were two people working the dining room taking orders, cleaning up tables, and bringing out the food. They were friendly taking and confirming my order. The menu covered all the usual dishes you might see at an Indian restaurant. And since one of the specials was butter chicken combo, I ordered that along with a paneer Manchurian with garlic naan. I didn't know what Manchurian flavor meant but it's like orange chicken but instead with paneer. It was pretty good. The paneer seemed to be pan fried before tossed in the sauce and topped with green onion. I would order this again. The butter chicken was also pretty good. It wasn't too heavy with butter and had a good amount of chicken. Chunks of chicken just floating in the sauce. The garlic naan was flatter and crispier than other Indian restaurants I've been too, but it was ok and did its job of being a vessel for the sauces. I would come back to try the wraps and curry next time. Other tables ordered these items and they looked really good. read more

Initially we came here for chai and pakoras but our LO wanted to eat goat curry and naan at 4 pm!! So it had to happen. Glad that I got to try it- Goat was juicy, well cooked, flavored. Flavorful but not extremely spicy gravy. Garlic naan- one of the best naans in the bay area!!! I'm a novice with Indian food. I don't eat it often, but I do enjoy it when I can. This restaurant makes it very easy and comfortable to come in and enjoy a meal. The menu is very straightforward and they have all the original favorites as well as other dishes to try. I order the chicken tikka marsala, chicken biryani, garlic naan, and samosas. My favorite was the naan. So light and fluffy. Not very dense at all which I really like. I only ordered one and wish I got more. Next was the biryani. In the past I've found this dish to be very dry even though I liked it. The chicken was moist and seasoned well. The rice was dry, and the chicken was flavorful. The marsala was fine. I thought the flavors were there, but it was not as thick as I am used to. My advice is to make sure you have bread or naan to dip with it. The only disappointing thing I would say is the samosa. When my husband picked up the food, he rushed out and didn't realize they forgot the samosas so I didn't get a chance to try them. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Often times I feel intimidated to walk into an Indian restaurant because I only know a few dishes which are the typical ones that everyone orders, but I felt okay with this one. This is a relative new Indian cafe inside the great mall . It is closed by one of the mall exit so you can park and walk to the cafe in a short distance . It has many tables even the inside space is not that big . Costumers have to sit causer to each other. But each table has enough room for the group order . They have a nice thick menu and posters on the windows to recommend their dishes . They do catering services for wedding , company events and other activities. Indian dishes are rich in flavors and their desserts ( crepes with cream and fruits ) are good presentations too . Should stop by some time to try ! read more

I felt there more scope to improve on taste. The portions are generous and the pricing is decent. The restaurant has welcoming vibes with clean interiors and comfortable seating. I love Indian food and the spice that comes with it. My favorite is biryani and samosas. But we'll also get Tikka masala, and palak paneer, with garlic naan on the side. Haven't been to India, but dishes that I've had are consistent from.other Indian establishments. We were seated right away when we arrive for lunch on a weekday, as lots of seating available. We looked over the menu already knowing what we wanted and server took our order. Food came out in a timely manner. Everything was delicious and portions are reasonable. Of course there are leftovers but I'm not complaining. Be careful if you sit near the walkway to the kitchen! The spices being cooked do waft out of the kitchen and made our eyes water. I'm so happy I decided to try Naans and Curries! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Manchurian Chicken, Gobi 65, Gulab Jamun, Garlic Naan, and rice. Everything was packed with flavor and tasted fresh. The Chicken Tikka Masala had tender, perfectly seasoned chicken with a sauce that was rich but nicely balanced. The Manchurian Chicken had a great kick to it and the spices blended so well! The Gobi 65 was crispy, flavorful, and just addictive. I just kept munching on it! GOATED I came here to eat by accident. Yesterday I was leaving the Great Mall when I passed my Naans & Curries. I looked at the sign on the window showing a picture of butter chicken. Then one of the servers at Naans & Curries provided me with the menu. I looked at it then proceeded to give the menu back to him. I went to another store just to look at sports jerseys. My initial plan was to eat at San Jose after shopping at the Great Mall. After leaving the sports store I decided to give Naans & Curries available chance instead of driving to San Jose. The only item I like in Indian food is tandoori chicken. Since this restaurant stated on the outside authentic Indian cuisine I was willing to expand my taste. This restaurant specializes in butter chicken and biryani. I decided to order biryani as I never had that dish before. I was deciding between goat or lamb biryani. I asked my server what he would recommend between these two items. He said from customers the most popular biryani is neither of those dishes but goat kheema biryani. I decided to order that dish. I also order tandoori chicken leg and mango lassi. Growing up as a Filipino I HATED goat because of the aftertaste. However I ate goat through Mexican and Jamaican cuisines. I loved their goat dishes because there was no aftertaste. So would eating goat in Indian cuisine would pleasantly surprise me? The goat kheema biryani was interesting because it included ground goat meat. First off was the tandoori chicken leg. This dish from Naans & Curries wasn't overly charred as with other tandoori chickens I've eaten in the past however it is the moistest tandoori chicken I've tasted. The mango lassi was a light drink that complimented the goat kheema biryani. How was the goat kheema biryani? It exceeded my expectation because I thought the ground goat meat would be gamey but it wasn't. I also loved how the basmati rice was fluffy. The concern was if eating the ground goat meat would become pasty. It wasn't. I enjoyed eating the goat kheema biryani. The dish was filling and satisfying. If I go to the Great Mall again to shop and become hungry I'd go back to Naans & Curries to order new items. read more

We order from here regularly specially the North Indian dishes. It's pretty good. We ordered Chicken Noodles, Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken Roll. They were all pretty good. I didn't like the chicken curry that much but other items were excellent. Only downside is they close too early around 8 pm due to Mall hours - kind of very early for dinner. read more

We love Indian food and always like to try new places, so while shopping and Great Mall in Milpitas, we couldn't pass up eating at Naans & Curries. The staff were very polite, answered our questions, and their service was quick. We started with two samosas and they had a good flavor with just the right spice. I love Butter Chicken, so I got the combo with garlic naan and it was really good. We also got the lamb biryani and it tasted good too, but with a little more of the yogurt sauce would be ideal. The food was meh. The taste needs improvement. It tasted diluted and tasteless without any flavor. It was like having a flat version of Pepsi or coke at a bar or restaurant. Absolutely, tasteless. Lacked flavor. Lacked anything. If "heat" or "spicy" is their method in covering their lack of taste or food profile I guess that would make more sense. However, I must say that the texture temperature and presentation was all good. However, the chia tea was bad. It wasn't milky enough and that too lacked flavor. The service was fair. I don't think she understood what I was asking when I asked her what the total was before taxes. The place was empty. I doubt it will survive. read more

Please note that price charged did not match the menu. Given that the place is new, it is surprising that the menu does not even have the correct price. Cleanliness - poor. Tables are wiped. It still continued to be dirty. The restroom is not serviced regularly either. The floor was a sticky mess. Food - not great at all. We order the paneer butter masala and the flavor of cardamom was overpowering. Naan is way too thin. Service - front of the house is understaffed. The gentlemen at the counter was super polite and apologetic. But he wasn't able to cope with the weekend crowd. Overall, not sure if they are still going through the initial struggles here. Surprise, surprise. I never expected a mall restaurant to be this good. The first time I went here, I went here only because there was no other Indian place open at the time closeby. Now I seek this place out and go here. I have tried the naans and curries so far and they are good. Nice strong flavor in the curry with good spices and a naan that is definitely fresh baked, not like the frozen stuff you get in some other places. My wife and I ordered the Gobi 65, Manchurian chicken (saw the picture outside), Tikka masala, and the garlic naan. It was really good! The chicken was my favorite since it had a lot of flavor and was not salty at all. The Gobi, which is cauliflower fried in a light batter, was really tasty. Went here for the first time, ordered to Go. Service was quick and pleasant. Butter chicken combo and lamb curry, extra plain naan. The naan is thin and chewy, perfect vessel for the sauce and meat. Both items are great, not overly spicy, packed with flavor, and generous amount of meat. I'm usually a butter chicken #1 fan and this was solid, but i surprised myself and liked the lamb curry a little more. The price was decent. For my family of 3, this is almost 2 meals.
