Chole Bhature
sundarapriya p.

My friend took me to Bombay Chaat House. I liked the aloo paratha and chole -- they tasted really good. But the spinach paratha was not that great. Still, everything else was nice. Since my friend really likes this place, I want to try it again and see how it goes next time.

"This restaurant serves absolutely incredible food--every dish is full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. A must-visit for anyone who loves amazing cuisine!"

Being here in this shopping strip so many times and never noticed this little hole in the wall place. The food is good and service is fast. Chaats are one of the best i have ever eaten in bay area. Methi poori is great.

Paneer Combo (Navratri special)
Ramona B.

I've never been here before, I needed a close by restaurant that serves Navratri food, they a meal called Navratri Combi which is a great combination. You chose either aloo curry (potatoes) or paneer curry (cheese), dahi (yogurt) and Kheer(typically made with rice, but for Navratri it's more with Sabu Dana. I tried both curries, if you're fasting eating only fruit and dried nuts, aloo curry might be more appropriate as the paneer curry is pretty heavy. I feel tanked after finishing my meal whereas the other combo made me feel satisfied. Both combo are served with two pieces of either Kuttu (buckwheat) roti or Rajgira (amaranth) roti. If you like to keep your meals super simple without use of salt, sugar or pepper this place might not be a good option, but the fact that it is an option on the menu is great for the times that cooking at home isn't possible. There's plenty of parking available, you can take the food either to go it for sit down. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. The ambiance is casual and good for groups.

Aloo & Onion Mix Paratha

Still drooling over this Aloo paratha image, and missing the taste of it. I am definitely visiting this place again. However, the ambiance is something where they need to work upon. They were quick with their service and served free condiments.

I've relied on their 'combo 2' all throughout the covid times. It's good for a quick lunch. Their parantha is huge- of any kind plain or filled.

My plate was so spotless that my daughter could not help making fun of me. The restaurant also offered additional sauces if you wanted to enhance the flavor. I tried them all and everything blended together so perfectly. This restaurant concept is self-service--we prepaid for the food and picked it up when it was ready. Since it wasn't busy, the staff brought the food to us and took our dishes away rather than us having to drop the dirty dishes in the assigned area. The staff is extremely friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the service is top-notch. I will be back to check out other dishes. Highly recommend!

And finally, the last person in this group will retire at the end of 2026 (well earned)! So if we are not all traveling, maybe we can actually get together more often...? Dare to dream. Okay, today we got the following. It was more than enough for all us light eaters. Actually, I was surprised how much we all actually ate, compliments to the chef. Beef Shawarma - Tender beef, good mix of beef and veggies. Good flavors. Chicken Shawarma - My plate, I finished most of it and had my daughter finish the rest. I got rice, falafel (my daughter ate 3.5 of the 4, lol), and fries as sides. I could have used more fries, but that was probably a good thing I did not. Mansaf - The lamb was so tender. My daughter took half of this to-go. Lamb Shawarma - Again, a very tender lamb Salmon - Was okay, the healthier choice. Tender, I would have preferred it less cooked. Salad - Another healthy choice. Lamb Kebab - A more hearty lamb. Actually this is my preference over a tender lamb. Tabsi Salmon - Again, I would have preferred the salmon less cooked. Was not dry, but would have preferred it to be more tender. Sides we all shared - Hummus, lentil soup, rice, falafel, fries, veggies, salad, carrot walnut (this was actually really good), freeken, etc. Dessert - Baklava assorted; my daughter took all of this to go... She did NOT share with the group, lol. Drinks - Mango Yogurt, Pine/App/Lem/Mint Juice, Franziskaner Hefe (can you believe I did NOT drink today :) ) , mint lemonade, fountain drinks, etc. Overall, the food was good. Ambiance - Huge location. Not busy at all. They closed the "private" room right after we got here. Nice decor, this used to be a Mexican restaurant. Plenty of seating. But we did have to move some tables around to accommodate our 9 person group. Full bar. See pictures. Plenty of mall parking - Be safe; see the sign of car break ins. Open 7 days a week - 11am to 9pm or 9:30pm. Clean bathrooms. Well, they are NOT signing the log; see pictures. Service - Counter service. Self service - Drinks, napkins, and sauces. We have to walk back up to counter for more utensils. Bus your own tables, etc. Price - $261 + tip; our generous friends paid!!! Thank you! Averaged $30 per person which was not bad for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success and with your 6 locations.

I ordered the Hainanese chicken, which came with soy sauce and turmeric rice. The chicken was tender, perfectly poached, and paired really well with the soy sauce. The turmeric rice was soft and well cooked, although I would have liked it to be a bit more fragrant. We also tried the nasi goreng, which was very flavorful with a slightly tomato-forward profile. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and were especially delicious. To round out the meal, we ordered the Malaysian milk tea, which was spot on. A few other customers were arriving and waiting as well. We ordered two nasi lemak dishes and one seafood kwetiau goreng. The kwetiau came out first, and we assumed the nasi lemak would follow shortly, so we started eating. Even after we finished the kwetiau, we still had to wait a bit longer for the nasi lemak to arrive. That said, the food was delicious and full of flavor. The portions were on the smaller side, which felt pretty typical for an authentic Asian restaurant. The staff were attentive even though we were seated outside, which I appreciated. The restaurant itself has a very casual and family friendly atmosphere, and most of the customers seemed to be dining in groups with family. I especially enjoyed the kwetiau goreng and would definitely come back for that dish again.

Hansang Tofu checked every box between food, service, ambiance, parking... everything was on point. FOOD: 9/10 Every single banchan (side dish) they served was fresh and packed with flavor. I've been traumatized by restaurants serving funky-tasting kimchi or ban chan in general, so I was relieved that theirs tasted fresh and delicious. Honestly, all of the banchan were so, so good. I ordered the Naengmyeon (cold noodles), and this had to be one of the best bowls I've had. I really appreciated that they didn't skimp on the toppings. I've had naengmyeon elsewhere that was pretty bare, just buckwheat noodles, cold broth, and maybe a few strands of cucumber. Here, my bowl came with a hard boiled egg, two slices of beef, radish, cucumber, and a generous portion of noodles. The mustard and vinegar were ready and served on the side, as they should be. Their soy garlic wings were HELLA good. Perfectly double-fried, packed with flavor, piping hot, and the chicken was still juicy and moist inside. So good. SERVICE: 10/10 Friendly, kind, and efficient service!! Yes, yes, YES. We were greeted right away with such a warm, energetic welcome. All the tables were either occupied or still being cleaned, so while we waited, one of the ladies handed us menus. Then, as they were getting our table ready, she offered to take our order before we even sat down. By the time we were seated, our food was already being prepared. LOVE THAT!! They were also incredibly attentive throughout our meal. AMBIANCE: 9/10 The restaurant is spacious, very clean, and of course had K-pop music videos playing on the TVs at a volume that was actually enjoyable and not overwhelming. It's a comfy space. Hansang Tofu is located in a plaza, so there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus. Definitely saving this spot because we'll absolutely be back. Left feeling so satisfied!

Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When I asked for a small container of the pepper sauce that is available at the tables, I was told no. I returned about 10 minutes later with the bags, and instead of simply verifying the mistake, the employee counted every item in the order as if there was doubt about the missing dessert. Once the mistake was confirmed, I still had to wait another 10 minutes while multiple employees checked on me. To make matters worse, the food itself was fairly mediocre and didn't stand out compared to other Thai restaurants in the area. Between the service issues and average food, this wasn't a place we would return to.

The Chinese sausage pieces sprinkled throughout added extra flavor too. The bowl is deep so there seemed to be roughly 5 cups of rice. Unfortunately the laksa shrimp fried rice was disappointing in comparison. It didn't have much flavor overall - better than plain rice but definitely needed more seasoning. The menu lists homemade laksa sauce as an ingredient but we didn't taste that, and the dish wasn't spicy at all either despite the 1 chili pepper rating. But it looked just like the menu picture so maybe the description is wrong. Fried chicken with tom yum sauce came with 6 pieces. Very juicy. We also enjoyed the herbal roasted prime steak with sausage rice. The delicious rice had the taste of fish sauce. Most of the short rib slices were soft and a few were slightly chewy but overall decent quality. Some of the fattier pieces of meat were still attached to the bone.

The one without ice still came cold and was about $2.50 more in price. Both tasted similar and the one with ice wasn't diluted at all. Both were refreshing and we loved the flavor. It was very authentic and refreshing. Chicken noodle soup was amazing! I don't know about the 8 hour boiled chicken since it tasted like chicken breast broth and not bone broth but it was super delicious. The noodles were slimy and it was very comforting. No chili oil was provided on the table. The server spilled some broth on our table while carrying a hot bowl of soup. I recommend asking the servers to use a serving plate to bring over food to the customer's table. Spicy chicken with honey and potatoes- We've tried this dish at many different restaurants, mostly without potato chips and we didn't like it here. Some pieces of chicken were bland and others absorbed most flavors. The honey did not help the dish at all. There was no balance of flavors. I did not like the addition of packaged wavy potato chips into the dish. Dai style seafood- This dish was very disappointing. It was served cold which was the highlight of the dish but nothing tasted fresh. This dish took the most time to come out. The dressing tasted well made, it was sweet and savory but the seafood hadn't absorbed the dressing. There were mussels, clams, squid and calamari in it and the balance of flavors was out of proportion. Laksa shrimp fried rice- Good wok hey, chewy mushroom bits and little pineapple bits but shrimp was very hard to find. The addition of egg was nice. Fried chicken with tom yum sauce- Nicely fried very tiny pieces of chicken with 1 tsp of tangy sauce. Good dish. Nothing extraordinary. I would come back for the chicken noodle soup on a cold night!
