I called for to go during lunch hour (you cannot say "takeout" with them). Their phone service or maybe it's me was terrible. Conversation came in and out. Arriving within lunch hour (1245pm) to pick up the food, there were only two customers (same table) eating in. Additionally, strangely, this restaurant comprises an entire business warehouse, it is located within the south Milpitas business center. FOOD I appreciate the top notch takeout containers. Saag corn lunch tiffin - food did not mix - very light - curries are thick - rice is tasty Mutton curry - bitter aftertaste and undertones - two big pieces with cartilage whereas other were dry chunks of meat - very expensive nonetheless Garlic naan - lots of raw garlic chunks - very expensive running at $4 SERVICE - rude - dismissive - customers eating in literally had to scream CAN I GET THE BILL and CAN I GET A BOX... I have never been to India before and do not know if this is the standard but other Indian restaurants here are not this bad??? - DOES NOT UTILIZE APPLE PAY; literally screamed at me, CAN I GET THE CARD AMBIENCE - looks like an Indian party all day every day - I wouldn't eat here myself LOCATION - a business warehouse within the south Milpitas business center - lots of parking - interesting entrances Skip. Not worth it. Not tasty. Tastes old. Rude service.

We had a wedding tasting here. The location is tricky, situated in a business park area in Milpitas. It was an hour drive from home. Entering the restaurant, it looked more like a hall and only 1 party was having dinner. We were met by the managers who were very polite and helpful. We listed some vegetarian dishes for some of our guests and they gave us 4 dishes each to try for appetizers, main course, side dishes and dessert. The dishes were very delicious, with just a few that needed minor adjustments, etc. The kitchen is 8k foot square and can cook for 1k people. They also serve party trays and corporate packed meal boxes. I read they serve a mean butter chicken but some of our guests are vegetarian. I would return here if it wasn't so far from home. Excellent dishes to say the least.

Thanksgiving black friday, when most restaurants are closed, we walk in to an empty place, but food was amazing!! Chicken biryani, my son finished in 10 mins! The chicken was cooked so well that the meat slipped off the bone. Its been so long since I ate chicken like that.

This place is located in an office type of building so it can easy to miss. There is a decent amount of parking. The interior was spacious, modern and clean. When we were there, we were surprised, because we were the only ones. The restaurant didn't get too crowded either. The staff was friendly and the service was decent. The butter chicken here was probably the best butter chicken I have tasted. It tasted different and better than all the past butter chickens I have tried. The garlic naan and the tandoori chicken were delicious as well. The tandoori chicken was not dry and went well with the provided sauces. I tried pani puri for the first time and it was okay. This is now my favorite Indian restaurant.

Tried this place yesterday, food was mid no flavor whatsoever. Service was good. The butter chicken all I tasted was tomatoes that were a bit sour, no spice no other flavor. Garlic naan was good, raita and mango lassi was wayyy toooo thick. The paneer aur papad kebab i'd say 7/10, bit too cheesy but it's an item on the menu worth trying, something different. But don't think i'd come back.

Went here for my birthday, we heard that this location used to be the Santana Row location. The inside was pretty so so compared to the old place, and had barely anyone in it. Not usually a problem for me. I had the butter chicken which I am giving a mixed review to- the sauce is amazing, one of the best I have ever had- a lot on the buttery side, BUT the quality of the chicken has deteriorated from when I used to come here about 20 years ago. The chi icken quality has been replaced from fine shredded chicken to that of a lower end indian restaurant. The garlic naan was tasty, but portion size was extremely small- needed to get 2 in order to get full!

Amber India in Milpitas offers authentic North Indian cuisine, emphasizing Mughlai dishes prepared with traditional techniques like tandoor cooking. The menu features a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, including popular items such as Palak Chaat, Tandoori Chicken, and Butter Chicken. Some flavorful vegetarian dishes, fast, & friendly service.Love their brunch buffet. We were here during Diwali and the food was delicious as we remember when it was on Santana Row. Overall, Amber India in Milpitas provides a cozy atmosphere with attentive service, making it a notable option for those seeking Indian cuisine in the area. it's a solid spot to spice up your meal plans. Just remember, they're closed on Mondays - even curry needs a rest day!

We went to Amber india to do a wedding food tasting and this experience was absolutely out of the world. The service here was absolutely impeccable. Once we got into Amber the ambiance is very nice for a yummy Indian sit down meal. We ended up trying: * three cheese tikki asparagus - we liked our crispy this was on the outside and soft on the inside. We wish there was a little more cheese in there but otherwise enjoyed * pesto paneer tikka - this was soft and well flavored, and for any fan of paneer this is a go to! * wild mushroom chettinadu pouch - if you are looking for mushrooms wrapped around a crispy crunchy exterior, this is a nice dish for you *Peshawari murgh tikka - this was absolutely the best thing ever - if you are looking for juicy succulent pieces of chicken, well seasoned, this is absolutely something you must try * boti kabob - I really loved these also, the pieces of lamb were juicy and tender, but I also really loved the seasoning on these * karavali macchi cutlet - this was a fish cutlet made of fish and potatoes, it could use a bit more seasoning but it was nice and crispy and went well with the sauce it cane with * Sarson ka saag - this is green goodness, it's creamy and delicious and went well with the naan * Kadai paneer - made with bell peppers and onions this paneer dish was tender and flavorful. Would highly recommend * kurkuri bhindi - this was crispy and crunchy as well as super flavorful. We had some leftovers for the parents and they loved it * dal palak - this was simple yet delicious. Perfect addition to the rest of the meal * ambers butter chicken - this was creamy, flavorful and delicious. The pieces of chicken were also very tender which I loved * goat masala - this was also really yummy and the curry was very flavorful. Loved the bone in lamb! * naan/ pulao/ raita / salad - all the accompaniments were delicious and fresh. We couldn't stop eating! * Santra firni - this was nice and creamy, however I could not get the orange taste enough and felt it could be a little sweeter * kala jamun with rabdi - this was the star of the show, the warm jamun with cold cream rabdi was to die for. I could not stop eating this. Godfrey who was helping us packed us some extra for our parents who absolutely loved it Overall the food was yummy and Godfrey and the chef cooking for us was absolutely a delight to talk to and work with. Would highly recommend to check out this business and location for future events/dinners in general!

All the food items prepared by Head chef Shiv were on point and mouth watering, good portion size, decent ambiance, and absolutely a great value value for the buck! For reference I Have had palak chat at Ettan, and I liked Amber's palak chat way better than Ettan ( portion size, flavors and the $$ ). The tandoori chicken was sizzling and delish! I went there for butter chicken and it came out to be as I wished for. The server Venkatesh was very pleasant and took great care of our party. Definitely coming back for the yummy food. Thank you! UPDATE-- I ordered food for a house party, and the butter chicken, kothimbir chicken and naan were so so good, additionally the staff was kind to send me a sampler of some assorted Indian mithai complimentary. The delicious food + the thoughtfulness goes a long way! Thank you

    Pani Puri and chai tea.

My husband and I absolutely love coming to Amber India! It's become our new go-to spot for everything from delicious pani puri to warm, comforting chai tea. Every dish we've tried is bursting with authentic flavor and always tastes freshly made -- A special shout-out to the manager, Godfrey, who is incredibly welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend to anyone craving flavorful, high-quality Indian food in a friendly and inviting atmosphere!

Buffet available all seven days, weekend buffet is slightly more expensive but has a larger spread. **AMBIANCE: large floor to ceiling height but the place is small, it felt real cramped during the weekend buffet when it was packed with people. Their service area is also tight. They had to put two dishes in each chaffing dish to optimize. Weekday buffet was not as packed and i infact saw a huge corporate team gathered for lunch. ***FOOD: doesn't feel like a luxurious buffet due to lack of space but they did have a decent spread with 3-4 veggie appetizers, 3-4 non veg appetizers, 4-5 desserts, Pani puri, fresh table side naan (which was done very beautifully), two varieties of biryani, fried rice, indo Chinese items, 3-4 varieties of non veg curries, 3-4 varieties of veg curries, salad, drinks etc. As with any buffet there will be hits and misses, I for one enjoyed the varied options and the unlimited Pani puri though it was on the sweeter side. The weekend buffet was definitely worth the price tag of $23, the weekday buffet on the other day felt expensive at $20 as the number of items were significantly lower.

It's been sitting there for a while, so the wifey and I finally decided to drive down to Milpitas and give this Thali place a try. I'm glad we did because their Thali is probably one of the best we've had, if not the best. FYI Thali is LUNCH only. Here is my take. Food (4.5 stars) +The Combo Thali for around $18 is the way to go. Don't overthink it and don't order anything else. You get a little bit of everything, which is exactly why we like Thali. If there's something you don't like, just give it to your partner. My wife doesn't like lamb, so I ended up with double lamb. Bonus for me! + Lamb curry was probably my favorite. Tender meat with a flavorful curry and it went perfectly with the rice. Since my wife donated hers to me, I had plenty! + Fried fish is also very good. You don't get a huge piece, but with so many other things on the plate, it's enough. That's the beauty of Thali--you get a few bites of everything instead of committing to one giant dish. + Chicken curry was also good. Nothing on the plate really needs to be eaten by itself because everything complements each other. You get savory, spicy, sour and even a little sweet throughout the meal. + There are also the usual Thali sides like dal, sumbar, yogurt, dessert and another sour/soupy dish. Rice sits right in the middle and you basically mix and match your way through the entire plate. + I also really like the papadum. It's that thin crispy Indian cracker that gives you a nice crunchy break between all the curries and softer foods. ~ PRO TIP: The only thing to consider is whether you prefer a Thali or an Indian buffet. At a buffet, you can essentially get many of these same types of dishes and eat as much as you want. With a Thali, you're getting smaller portions of everything. Personally, I like the variety and having everything served together, especially when the combo is only around $18. Service/Ambiance (4.5 stars) + We came during lunch and there was only one other customer while we were there, so service was good and the food came out rather quickly. + The restaurant has some really nice paintings along the walls. Some of the scenery almost looked Mediterranean to me, although I'm assuming they're depicting places somewhere in India. Either way, they add some character to the restaurant. + It's a comfortable, casual place to sit down and enjoy a Thali without much fuss. GET THE COMBO! You get fish, lamb, chicken, rice, dal, sides, dessert and all the little extras that make eating Thali fun. Between the two of us, if one person doesn't like something, the other person probably will. In my case, that strategy resulted in double lamb, so I definitely wasn't complaining. Wifey gives Vande Bharat 4.5 stars and I'm right there with her. For the price, variety and flavors, this is easily one of our favorite Thali meals we've had. Yelp got this recommendation right!

So far my experiences here have been pleasant, with the service being friendly and there being an ample amount of seating inside. I've noticed that the food tends to run on the spicier side (we ordered mild and yet it was still spicy, though perhaps just a sign of my spice tolerance failing me), but outside of that it tasted good. Panni Puri - This was my first time trying a panni puri and it tasted really good, even though I found it spicy (we ordered mild). I especially loved the texture of the onions inside of it. I ate it earlier on which made it harder for me to tell which other dishes were spicy and which ones weren't at the time as a result of its lingering spiciness, but I would happily order it again given the opportunity. Punugulu/Veggie Puff/Vegetarian Fried Rice - All three of these were good and I do recall them being non-spicy. The veggie puff was especially refreshing after trying to get through the paneer pulav Mirchi Bajji - These were also good and surprisingly not as spicy as I thought they would be, considering that they have chili peppers in them Naan with House Vegetable Curry - The vegetable curry was really spicy and it took me a while to realize this because I was still dealing with the effects of the panni puri while I was eating this. Had I not brought some of it home as leftovers I probably would've thought that this was non-spicy Paneer Pulav - Much spicier than expected. I needed to use some of the curd to tone it down but it was still good. The texture of the rice was good too The cold drinks on their menu come in a reusable bottle and from their display I can assume that their desserts are the same way. So far the ones I've tried (mango lassi, rose milk, and chikoo shake) have been refreshing. There's also a falooda section that closes at around 8:00 pm, but I haven't been able to try them yet as both times we got there past eight. Overall a pleasant experience in spite of the spiciness. Perhaps one day I'll be strong enough to handle it without the curd, but it'll probably take a couple of additional visits before I can.

I was seated immediately, no wait, and the restaurant only had a few tables of people. The inside was bright and had plenty of tables. The noise was mainly from the mall. There was a large neon blackboard with the day's special clearly stated. There were two people working the dining room taking orders, cleaning up tables, and bringing out the food. They were friendly taking and confirming my order. The menu covered all the usual dishes you might see at an Indian restaurant. And since one of the specials was butter chicken combo, I ordered that along with a paneer Manchurian with garlic naan. I didn't know what Manchurian flavor meant but it's like orange chicken but instead with paneer. It was pretty good. The paneer seemed to be pan fried before tossed in the sauce and topped with green onion. I would order this again. The butter chicken was also pretty good. It wasn't too heavy with butter and had a good amount of chicken. Chunks of chicken just floating in the sauce. The garlic naan was flatter and crispier than other Indian restaurants I've been too, but it was ok and did its job of being a vessel for the sauces. I would come back to try the wraps and curry next time. Other tables ordered these items and they looked really good.

Initially we came here for chai and pakoras but our LO wanted to eat goat curry and naan at 4 pm!!…read moreSo it had to happen. Glad that I got to try it- Goat was juicy, well cooked, flavored. Flavorful but not extremely spicy gravy. Garlic naan- one of the best naans in the bay area!!! Naan traditionally does not have yeast in the dough, has to be kneaded in a peculiar manner, is made fresh daily and rolled, stretched out thin and cooked in the tandoor or similar apparatus.. they nail all the points that make naan distinct from other Indian bread types.

This place is for eating there only. They have benches. Sunny and Love both were awesome. I ordered Chole Kulcha, Chili Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Chap, Roomali Roti; Chole Kulcha- I don't have to eat Chole with it. Kulcha itself was very good, crispy and filled with masala. 5 star Chili Chicken- Quality of chicken matters the most. It was very good. 5 star Tandoori Chicken- Quality was great. Juicy, need to eat there only. 5 Star Chap- Need to eat right away. Don't let it wait otherwise it will loose its texture and taste. Taste when it is hot, good mixture of spices and chutneys with it. Onion enhances the flavor of it. 5 Star Roomali Roti- probably the best Roomali roti. Does not matter where they make it. They put butter on it. It does not get chewy or gets dry. 5 Star Sunny and Love they work hard to make it happen. Kudos to them. Noticed, while I was dining, two people came in and expected them to deliver right away and they left. Guys, give them a break, Truck opens at 4:00pm they have to set up the Tandoor it takes time atleast 45 min. To warm up. You can't expect to serve tandoori items right away.
