We have gone here on several occasions and ordered the chefs special which I think changes hourly rather than daily. We have never been disappointed with the quality and authenticity of the items that were either recommended or on the menu. not a fancy restaurant so if you are looking for great ambiance, there are other Indian restaurants on Devon as well as downtown. This was closed the last time I was in the area (within the past week). For what it's worth, I visited in early 2008 and had a decent meal. It appeared that the menu was flexible and usually somewhat limited. Still, the service was good. Great Authentic hyderabad food. I have tried a lot of different restaurants on Devon but they all put a lot of spices...it tastes like they put every masala in the cabinet but naan on devon food tastes like something you would make at home with a limited amount of spices. I'm sad this is the best place on Devon? I certainly will not be back to Devon street it has declined the past 6 years. Viceroy wasn't great but it was a go to place on Devon at least. It was my first day trying this place. They had a buffet at 2:00am. I got there at 1:15am and the server was very nice. He told us that for $8.99 we can try 6-7 items. So me and my friend waited for 45 mins so we can try everything little bit. The biryani was 90% burned. The bread was not fresh, no salt in their rice. I told the cashier that biryani was burned, he told me "I know, maybe they forgot to mix it". Like seriously? If you knew it, why you are still serving it to your customers? The cashier charge us full amount. Good for them, I am never coming back there and I won't recommend anyone who is looking to eat some Decent Pakistani food. Poor customer service. Naan on Devon Don't need to come back here again. We were immediately irritated. we tried to order off of the dry erase board at the back of the restaurant. Instead they ushered us to a table at the front and gave us the 'english language' menu. when ordering they didn't have 1/2 of what was on this menu. then why couldn't we have just ordered off the specials? pain in the ass. julie ordered tandori chicken. was told they didn't have it. jeremy ordered chicken tikka. what's the difference between chicken tikka and tandori chicken? Cause they looked the same. tasted the same. what? Ambata gosht. what's ambata? tasted like okra. but there were also maybe some other greens in there? by gosht they must have meant 'gosht bones' cause just no meat in there. but lots of bone. tasted good, though. Looked like green poops. Mutton korma. when brought to the table, though, they said it was gosht. huh? neal felt it was undersalted. maybe even canned? tasted really standard. When they told me they didn't have the 'frontier chicken' I ordered a beef paratha roll. I mean, how often do you see beef on an Indian menu? which ended up being, in essence, a wrap. that had ketchup and lettuce and mayo. what? how indian is that? tasted just like a whopper. seriously. the naan tasted a little biscuity. no free raita, which we got everywhere else. again, meh. The mango lassi was just alright. Very orange. Julie got chicken boti, which came out chunked and boneless. Julie enjoyed it. The interior was fine. Plain. yes, it was fairly inexpensive. but so are a million other places right there (ghareeb nawaz, for instance) that do it better for the same price. Terrible service . Waiter came to our table while on the phone. Talked on phone for 5minutes while we waited sitting in front of him. After finishing his conversation , he said "ok what do you want?" We asked about appetizers and he said there were no appetizers today. We asked about buttered chicken and he said they have two types boneless or with bone . Awful customer service! It only gets worse every time. They never have the full menu and try to force you to eat what they have, not what you want to eat. Rotis they serve seem more like they're made of rubber. Their credit card machine doesn't work most of the time. They literally beg you to pay cash. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I can't emphasize that enough. You have to wait 15-20 minutes before the guys come up to you to take the order even when no other customer is around. read more

Our party of 3 shared lamb chops, chicken curry, and chicken rice dish. All were excellent. Large pieces of garlic, plain and butter naan bread. All kinds of side spicy sauces. Waiter spoke enough English to help us pick good dishes. Had the fruit custard for dessert and it was also very good. read more

The server was nice and knowledgeable about the food.. but the food left much to be desired. We spent about 40 and could barely finish even a quarter of what we ordered, not because of large portion but because the food was really unpleasant and not very good. The chicken boti was all mushy and i couldn't eat it. My husband ordered a mutton platter, all the foods very bad. The chicken pagota appetizer is the only thing i can recommend here it was very good the rest was not very good. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Absolutely disgusting! Food was overpriced and oily. Delivery was slow, and they SENT US THE WRONG FOOD, and then REFUSED TO CORRECT IT. I had ordered samosas. Apparently they had run out of samosas, so they just sent us a bunch of chicken instead! Who does that?! And when I called to ask them about it, they said that they would not correct their mistake. I too found this place by accident. I have lived near Devon and Western for almost 10 years and have sampled the majority of Indian and Pakistani restaurants in the area. This establishment can be a little rough around the edges but the combination of consistently great food and extremely reasonable prices demands 5 stars. I usually order the chicken biryani, the full volume of which this glutton cannot consume in one sitting. The chapatis are great. Not sure if they actually serve naan--unless a chapati is considered a type of naan. I'm often unable decipher the daily menu on their whiteboard and request the proprietor's recommendation. I have yet to be disappointed. On Saturday it was their "fried mutton" which sounds suspect on its face but turned out to be an excellent lamb stew. Not a first date location by any means. Go for takeout your first time. Yes, parking can be a challenge, but it is unfair to penalize a restaurant on yelp for this shortcoming as there is nothing that a business can do about it. read more

Best Chicken Biriyani we had in a long time. One of our friends catered from them for their son's birthday party, we like it. But then we ordered a take-out of 1/2 tray Chicken Biriyani and Dum Dum Chicken. It was the BEST we had in a long time. Very fresh and tasty.
