Great tacos! The tortillas are hand made with what looks like a mix of blue masa and regular masa, they were nice and fluffy. They don't skimp on the meats and are priced at about $2.75 a taco. I know Taco Del Chavo is WAYYY more popular but it really lacks what this place offers as far as amazing flavor and quantity of food for the price! read more

This is authentic Mexican food. You won't be blown away by the building but you will love the food. A friend of mine mentioned this place to me and promised it would be some of the best tacos in the area. He wasn't lying. I was pleased to see the tacos weren't lacking in size and neither was the horchata. Seriously, they are more than generous when it comes to their horchata! I loved the crunch from the tacos and their salsas were great. Anybody who loves spicy salsa must use the red one. Don't let the outside of this place fool you. We were close by for a baseball tournament and looking for food nearby. This place is super close to Adams park. It's not a pretty sight on the outside (next to a gas station) but the inside is decent and the woman taking the order is very nice. We ordered a couple of tacos- I asked her to give us a variety- and everything was delicious. The tortillas were the real winners, but the meat inside was just as yummy. The red sauce really is spicy! We will come back next time we are in the area. I haven't had authentic Mexican food like this since I was in San Diego! read more

LOW 3. As others have said the outside is pretty bad. But with the 4.5 ratings we were curious, and hungry. Stepped inside to another world, seriously. I'm sure I caught the hostess off guard with my spanish...anyways we were the only gringas in the place so I expected a tasty meal. So we were seated quickly and kinda gawked at by the locals... Took a really long time to get our food and I am certain we were skipped over. I ordered a taco pastor and one carnitas with a side of rice and beans. My friend ordered enchiladas verdes. While we were waiting, others seated after us were served and I honestly debated walking out. In between the hard stares and no getting our food it was getting uncomfortable. Right before being served we were asked to change tables. I couldn't help but then ask, "Are we going to get our order?" Finally our order arrived. Definitely well stuffed tacos. I usually get steak and chicken tacos (steak is my favorite) with rice and beans and the price is great. Not sure why this is labeled as deli and sandwiches. It is not. It is straight up hole in the wall Mexican food. If you know Mexican, hole in the wall, no english speaking is a great thing...when it comes to food taste. it was as if I walked into someone's kitchen and caught them by surprise as I was the only one there and they were kind of hanging out watching tv with the whole family. Promptly they began cooking my food. The tortillas are made on the spot and the tacos are about the size of 2-3 of taco truck style tacos for $1.50 ea. The meat was also generous. I got full on 1. Handmade to order, hot, slightly crisped corn tortillas for the tacos I had. These tortillas are not from a bag. Made from scratch on site. Unbelievably tasty and simple. Carne Asana and pastor were fresh and flavorful. Tacos are served with a cup of green and red salsas on the side. The red is hotter, the green is hot and more flavorful. They have beer and wine for now, liquor license is applied for. I like this place way better than highly rated Tacos Del Chavo, just down the street. No offense to them, because Fogata tacos were outstanding. read more
