In my recent short tour of burger spots in Chicago, NADC ranks pretty well. Beast Mode Fried not worth the $ or calories.

I ordered a NADC burger with Beast Mode fries. Greasiest burger I've ever had. The grease and sauce kept causing the beef to slide off the buns. Overall flavor of both burger and fries were overly sweet. Fries were properly crispy and soft. Cashier had a sarcastic tone I didn't care for when ordering and asking questions about the menu. I don't like the dimmer, yellow light lamps. read more

I've lived in Chicago for my entire life and essentially grew up on smash burgers. My love for them carried over into my adulthood and I've tried just about every "best burger in the city" for the last 15 years. For about a year I've heard people raving and hyping up the burger here like it's the best thing that's touched a flat-top and rested on a bun. When I say that this is easily the most underwhelming, "franchise" burger that I've ever had, I mean it from the very depths of my soul. There is absolutely no love in the burger. It's a hot mess of flavors that only equate to a watered down Big Mac sauce clone on top of patties that were unbelievably mushy like they were frozen and thawed for service. The fries, although crispy, were clearly prepared from frozen (Lamb Weston brand to be specific). You can always tell because they have the same exact consistency, color, and flavor as the ones you can find in a cafeteria, or in the frozen food section. This was easily one of the most disappointing burgers that I've ever had in my life. I don't think this should even scratch the surface of the "best burgers in the city" list. I came here on a wednesday to get their happy hour deal of burger & fries for under $20. The burger is stacked & the fries are crispy since their fried in beef tallow. The experience was a bit messy as I spilled on my white shirt right away but I had a feeling this would happen with how the burger logo for the restaurant looks like. The service was fast with an open kitchen & sit yourself environment. It felt a bit too trendy for me but this is wicker park so they found the best spot to be! I would not come again since it didn't wow me but burgers are my favorite food so definitely worth a try if you're in the area. read more

Pretty good smash burger! We got delivery from here on a Thursday night. I got the burger (comes with pickles, onions, and I added jalapeños chopped) with fries. The burger comes with a "secret sauce" as well. It appears to be ketchup and mayo, may have something else in it like a hint of sesame oil, but not sure. It's fine. The burger was very juicy, wet, not hard to eat though. Definitely a 5guys style of the smash. The fries are more tempura style and are not likely made in house but instead frozen, which is interesting. Overall a good burger, but not the best smash in Chicago. read more

NADC Burger was incredible... Imagine this, two patties stacked on top of each other with melty cheese slices in between. Every bite was juicy, and packed with flavor. The layers of beef and cheese made it feel like a little party in your mouth. The golden, crispy fries went perfectly with it and really completed the burger. The place was quiet when we went since they just opened, so we were basically the first ones eating there. Right after, it got packed. The staff was super nice too, even gave us a homemade cookie, which was a sweet little extra. Honestly, everything just worked. The burger, the fries, the vibe, and the friendly staff made it a really solid experience. Definitely coming back next time I'm around. read more

Nice, sleek, industrial kind of feel inside with tons of seating. There is a counter/bar area to walk up and order your food. The menu is rather small and straight forward which I didn't mind! Legitimately one of the better burger and fry duo's that I have ever had. The burger was juicy and loaded with flavors. The fries were very crispy and delicious even when loaded with the toppings. The only drawback is the pricing is a lot for a burger and fries. $16 for a burger and $8 for loaded fries is definitely on the pricey side. I would definitely recommend NADC Burger to anyone who is wanting to try it, but I don't know how often I will be coming back for burgers at that price point. read more

NADC burger has the juiciest wagyu smash burgers. Usually I think something like that is a gimmick, but in this case it actually tastes really good. The meat is always super juicy and the secret sauce is delicious. The fries are cooked in beef tallow and have amazing texture. They're always crispy on the outside with a soft pillowy inside kinda like mashed potatoes. They go really well with their house ketchup, which has a distinct taste of herbs (oregano?) You can tell the owner is a skater when you walk in: they play hip hop and have skate boards on the wall and the TVs are playing something related to skating (or maybe some shows?). It's your standard fast casual experience where you order up front and then pick up the order yourself when they call your order. Chicago has a ton of burger spots, but of all the fast-casual restaurants, NADC has the best burger and fries. The restrooms are always clean. My only issue is that if you want to order a single burger with all the standard fixings, they charge you the same price as the default NADC burger. As a customer this pricing just seems unfair. The only option for a single is the kid's burger which doesn't have any of the toppings and doesn't taste as good. If this weren't the case it would be an easy 5 stars. read more

I have two pro-tips for NADC burger. 1. I accidentally ordered my food to Wicker park but ended up next to perilla! They have 2 locations yall! 2. You cannot get their version of the animal style fries to go! You have to order them like there because they want to maintain quality. I commend that. I got pick up, but I'm sure the service is great just haven't eaten in there or ordered there yet! The space is fast casual at the wicker park location. The burger was great. Regular fries were great. I will be trying their loaded fries another time! read more

I was super impressed with NADC burger! We stopped by at 7:30 on a Friday night and only waited a couple mins before we were able to grab a table. You order at the counter so it's not a one wait. The menu is limited to basically just the burgers, fries, and drinks, similar to small cheval. So that's what we went with. My husband got the loaded fries which he enjoyed but said he wouldn't get again. The burgers were solid! I would say my top fast casual Chicago burger thus far. Better than small cheval IMO. The fries were also tasty. Nice and crispy and the homemade ketchup was delicious. My only complaint was for a $20 burger it's def small. But otherwise I highly recommend! read more

Great service and enough space at the bar to enjoy a meal. The food didn't take long from order to delivery. Very flavorful NADC burger. I usually need to add more flavor with hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, etc., to burgers. I didn't for this. Which it would only taste better obviously with your choice of condiments, but it tastes really great on its own. I tried the loaded fries. Slightly different than animal fries from In n out or something like that, which is good. These feel like they have more of a Chicago hot dog topping distinct flavor which is nice. Now THATs how you do a wagyu burger! 10/10 flavorful, juicy & tender! I also ordered the loaded fries, reminds me of In n Out animal style fries. They had a list of beers and cocktails, but didn't opt for it this time. The vibes are immaculate inside, the service was swift, friendly and they can really sing !! Stopped in for an early dinner. Their menu is very small and concise, they only have 3 things on there, the nadc burger, a kids burger, and fries. The fries are excellent, they seem double fried, extra crispy. The ketchup had some extra spice in it that wasn't my favorite tho. The burger was very good imo, juicy and flavorful. It was perfect for me, but my husband said it was too small and not satisfying enough for him for the price. The workers were friendly and nice. The inside is simple and industrial feeling. I don't review a lot these days but had to say this is maybe the best hamburger and fries I've ever had. Simple. Flavorful. Perfect texture.

Absolutely terrible experience. I walked to NADC to pick up an order that had already been paid for, showed the staff the order confirmation and the charge on my bank account, and was immediately treated like I was trying to scam them even though I had placed the order through their website. Instead of helping resolve the issue, the employees were incredibly rude, dismissive, and unwilling to even look into what happened. I left with no food, $50 missing from my account, and one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. If this is how paying customers are treated, I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

Glad they brought NADC to the neighborhood! Wicker Park has some great burger joints and this is no different. The smash almost reminds me of a cross between a gourmet White Castle and LA's In n Out! But with much, much better meat. The cheese reminds me of a legit Philly cheesesteak. That Wagyu beef has amazing caramelized edges, and the burger is not overpowering. It's a great size. You can eat it and not feel stuffed like some places. I tried the fries but next time I'll go for the animal style. I crushed a Jr and then had the classic NADC double! Full fatty this week. A great Wicker Park burger spot. Dark colors on the inside like you're at a burger bar with a nice cocktail menu and beer if you're into that. We always have the Mexican Coke which goes great with a burger... and oh yes, the burger... Double patty of 100% wagyu beef, American cheese, secret sauce, onions, pickles, slightly tamed jalapeños is delicious and served on a toasted bun that's light and flaky. This cheeseburger rocks and make sure to add the Beast Mode French Fries that come with cheese, diced pickles & slightly tamed jalapeños, special sauce & seasoning on top. The burger was amazing!!! Super flavorful and juicy. Saw a review saying they usually like to customize condiments but you do not need to for this burger and that's the truth! I was shocked it's even better than it looks in pictures. 10/10 burger and love the unique spin of the pickled jalapeños! It's like a slightly upscale version of In-N-Out! Got the plain fries they were okay tasted kinda stale. Saw a review about goose island root beer being good but the one they gave me was IBC brand it was okay.
