Nadeau's has always been known for their steak and cheese. Growing up, we used to eat at the one in Goffstown every Friday, and over the years, I've had it many times at the Manchester location too. Sadly, the quality of the steak has gone downhill. They've changed it several times, and it's really disappointing now -- it's tough, chewy in almost every bite. I even found myself pulling pieces of steak out of my mouth, which is not what you expect from a place that was once so well known for their steak and cheese. I paid $20 for a large steak and cheese with mushrooms onions and a small fry. No complaints about the fries, but honestly, I'd gladly pay more if they brought back the quality of steak they used to have. read more

For years I have been ordering subs from nadeaus, all the locations in Manchester. Today is a first for a terrible steak tip sub. Every piece of steak had to be chewed a bunch of times until I spit the piece out. I had four bites and had to throw out the rest of it. It was very disappointing. Been ordering from nadeaus for over two decades. I always get the steak and cheese as it's the best in town. Today I ordered two chicken Parm subs. They were horrible. When I ordered them, they asked me if I wanted the chicken grilled or breaded and I said breaded. I've never heard of a grilled chicken Parm sub. We ordered takeout and we picked it up. We got it home and it was grilled. Little small chunks of chopped up grilled chicken. The chicken had a strange taste like it had been reheated. The sub rolls were broken and a mess. When I tried to call to complain they were busy forever. I had to eat the sub out of necessity.. i'm very disappointed they can't get a simple chicken parm sub order correct. This is the second time in a couple of months I've ordered from there and been disappointed. Sounds like it's time to find a new sub shop. read more

We visited the East Coast recently and stayed with family in Manchester New Hampshire. One night, after a day of sightseeing, we were looking for something yummy to grab for a quick dinner. Our family asked if we liked sub sandwiches and said we should try Nadeau's, who are known for their steak tip sandwiches. We were also told the waffle fries were off the hook. The steak tip sandwich was absolutely delicious. It had a generous amount of steak with melted cheese on a soft roll with your choice of toppings. I went with grilled onions, peppers and pickles. I ordered a medium size, and was very surprised at how large it was. The steak was cooked very well, and the flavors of pickles and grilled onions went really well together. The waffle fries were very crispy and had a generous amount of seasoning that took them over the top! Give them a try and see for yourself!! read more

The menu is intriguing but the product doesn't live up to the promise. Veggies are diced and they don't cut the sandwich in half which then requires a trip to the counter to ask for a knife. If it's to-go you're SOL so don't forget to ask. I'd give it a solid "meh". I was going to give it 3 stars but the service is really slow. Today it took 15 minutes to get my sandwich which is surprising since it was completely dead, I'm not kidding. Ordering was fast and simple. I made it clear I've never been to this establishment before. The cashier did not make me feel welcome. When asked if I was a member of their loyalty program she said oh yeh that's right you said you've never been her before. Never asked if I wanted to join. They give you an order number and then they call you up. My number was never called so I went up and asked. They put my order in the "phone, take out" section. Cashier never apologized for that and for me waiting and having to go up and ask. As far as the food goes, you have to pay per slice if you want bacon. Decent subs, relatively quick, fairly priced. Good steak and cheese. Frustrating aspects: sandwich never cut in half. Any cold sub, they dice up all the veggies/toppings, and literally place it on top of the sub. So, say you get a tuna: they fill the roll up with tuna, and then, instead of placing all the toppings IN with the sandwich, they basically close the sub up and throw them all on top. So as you eat, you'll get a bite of bread and tuna, and then another bite and you'll get bread and chunks of tomato and pickle, but never all at the same time (which is kind of the point of a sandwich). All the toppings fall off, too. By the time I'm done, I have a side salad left on the paper. I don't understand what's so hard about laying the bread down, opened up, mixing it all together, and closing the sub with the assistance of a knife (think subway) like every other sub shot I've ever eaten at. Not the worst thing ever, but just some extremely simple, common sense advice, that everyone who's ever made a sandwich has intuitively done without thinking about it. They must actually train their employees to do this, because I'm not sure who would ever make a sandwich this way. read more

The best shaved steak and cheese I have had, besides the ones I make! Why? They use QUALITY meat! It wasn't greasy or fatty, although a touch heavy on the salt- but it it's better than no flavor. The onions and mushrooms were cooked and seasoned well and it came the way I wanted it- with EXTRA mayo. My only complaint is the size. Order was made timely and accurate. I ordered a cheeseburger sub that was prepared with ground beef and fresh ingredients. I highly recomend this place. The wait is a little long but well worth it....the quality of the food is great and it is really fresh. My girlfriend and I stopped in for a quick lunch last Saturday11/1/14. We each ordered identical Italian subs with identical contents. We BOTH got food poisoning along with sever stomach cramps, vomiting and all the other effects of improperly stored or handled food.
