Nadeen's is home to the best hot chicken in Nashville. We were eating those hot lil chickies up left and right, but Nadeen's beat out all the big competitors. That being said, the hot chicken and waffle specifically is the best. So juicy, so flavorful... pretty much the perfect indulgent meal. From the outside, Nadeen's looks like a typical unsuspecting roadside diner, but step inside and it's actually quite cute and kitschy. The food at Nadeen's was amazing. We went on a Sunday around noon. There was a 10 minute wait, which was totally worth it. They had live music, and a very relaxed atmosphere. The drinks: The Bloody Mary (spicy) - this was probably the best Bloody Mary I've ever had in my entire life. This is saying a lot because I normally really don't like Bloody Marys. The Mimosas - Amazing. I don't know how you can improve on this classic brunch drink, but they have found the key! And such a generous portion. One glass is easily a double serving. The food: The Kernel - this was the biscuits and gravy of my dreams. It's your classic southern biscuits and sausage gravy with cheesy scrambled eggs ontop. AMAZING. Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffles - let me tell you, the chicken was SO JUICY. The flavor was great. The waffle was standard. We really enjoyed this treat. This place was my favorite casual spot on my trip to Nashville. It's not even in Nashville per say but we ended up here while staying at the Opryland resort. We went for brunch on a Sunday and only waited about 15 minutes for a table. I'm not sure if this is a good indication of how it normally is but we were happy. The whole vibe of this place is just cool. Tables are made out of reclaimed wood and the decor is a mix of hippie vintage and country. Service was good although we did have to wait quite a bit for our meal. Of course we started our table adventure with bloody Mary's. A little bit spicy but love that they are served with olives and a cheese curd. Breakfast was great! we ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, chicken and waffles, and a breakfast biscuit meal. For starters, they do have a great location, I love the decor, and after looking the menu over, the prices are decent too! But that's all I can come up with for the glaring positives. The service was lacking in every way. I did not feel welcomed into the establishment upon entering, and once seated, my waitress showed us just how unenthusiastic to serve us she was. Not cool, at all. The food was bland and basic. I ordered the chicken and waffles. There wasn't a single bit of crunch or flavor to either my chicken or waffle, such a let down, as I was really banking on the positive reviews from other Yelpers. Great little spot with good food and good vibes. Had the Poutine which is hard to come by in the South. Gravy, cheese, fries, what more could you ask for. The gravy was particularly good as it was more of a stew with pieces of beef. Whenever it's our first visit I like to ask the server what they like on the menu and he gave me 4 options. I enjoyed my breakfast and service. Their gravy is different but still very delicious. Coffee was fresh, smooth and delicious! Loved the country ham and that breakfast came with mushrooms and tomatoes. My fried eggs were just ok, but they did cook the yolks to a perfect medium. Personally I prefer mine fried in bacon grease and more "fried" than "basted" but it can be a challenge to get a good medium yolk so that's still a win in my book. I come back for sure! It has a good local and authentic feel - somewhere between a diner and tavern. We started with coffee while waiting for the friend and were pleasantly surprised the delicious coffee came from Frothy Monkey. Meanwhile great background music is coming over the speakers. Our waitress was helped us move from a table when we spotted a booth available away from the door. We ordered and the food came pretty quickly. I got the Farmer's Skillet - the gravy was rich and the hash browns were chunky and fresh. The eggs were cooked exactly as I ordered them. If I could change one thing about it, I'd peppers or other veggies, but it still hit the spot. Our friend got chicken and waffles - I am definitely getting this on my next visit. It was a thick, perfect waffle dressed with fresh berries and a steaming fresh piece of fried chicken.
