If it were possible to give a place 0 zero stars, then know that I would have done so in a heartbeat. From the director of nursing to the so-called administrator, I have never seen a more unprofessional group of people in my working career. Nor have I worked in a more hostile working environment in all my life. Given everything that we have been thru as health professionals last year with Covid-19 and lockdown you would think they would treat staff better. Instead the staff are constantly subjected to lack of appropriate staffing to safely manage/care for residents. The staff is expected to lift heavy residents without the appropriate safety equipment at risk to their own health. Staff are also subjected to punitive actions instead of initial warnings creating an environment in which staff fear making a mistake. The staff also fear for their jobs when making the decision whether to call out if they are ill or have a family emergency because the Director of Nursing has been known to threaten employees to come into work. Never have I experienced a Director of Nursing who seems to only care about the look of being a DON versus the actual work it entails. One could almost say she is on a power trip. If you are unable to put in the work yourself, how can you possibly be an effective Director of Nursing? Her leadership style screams more autocratic then servant leadership. In addition, the supposed administrator is of no help as well, having created an environment where staff cannot express complaints without harsh rebukes. In any working environment staff should feel at ease to voice complaints/concerns. They should be made to feel like their leadership personnel have a welcoming door to come into. However, this is not the case here, instead staff feel unable to address any issues, they constantly worry about facing punitive actions with no warning, and they cannot rely on their leadership to act like leaders instead of dictators. If this was years ago, I would happily tell you to send your loved one here because the staff loved their jobs and the leadership was great. However, BEWARE!!! Until there is a huge shake up and major changes made, I sadly must recommend you don't send your loved ones here!

(Shout…read moreout to Dr snyder) I was just "fired" from my pain management specialist and referred to a "pain psychologist" He is apparently tired of me holding him accountable for Not listening, not looking into my concerns, giving me an injection that left me unable to walk straight then falsifying reports saying there were no complications, then when I called him on it he said it was "anxiety", treating only the right side of my neck when I've told him a dozen times my left it what hurts the most. But what the computer says I guess matters more than what the patient says anymore because you know- insurance might not pay him if he goes outside the scope of the typical cattle call of pain management. I've been in the ER at least once a month with debilitating pain. They help me there but then tell me I need a plan, so I don't have to keep going there. I agree! Well my pain Dr, refused to make a plan other than gabapentin and steroids, both I won't touch because I deal with pots syndrome. So, at the end of the day, he has the power, and I don't. So I guess he gets to call me crazy because he doesn't want to look into anything I've brought to him, or deal with me actually reading my own medical reports and having questions. For one it takes forever for maintenance people to get here to fix something emergency or not, there cabinets for the kitchens look nothing like what they do in the photos, there's no light fixtures in apartment except at dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. If you want or need more light you will have to buy lamps for every room. There cabinets look like total shit, and when we opened a cabinet it broke in half and they came in and just super glued it to fix it, and this happened a few times. There dishwashers suck, don't clean anything, have to wash the dishes a few times to get cleaned and no it wasn't full.

I pay to have reserved parking and the ppl around here can't read and park in my space, but that's not White Oak's fault. They actually handle issues like this as fast as anything else. I would recommend living here to anyone. The bedrooms are huge, and the closest is spacious. You get more bang for your buck. Plus they are always having activities for the tenants and kids. Very nice. The STAFF...love them. All of them past and present. They go beyond the call of duty to make sure you are good. The only way I will leave here is if I decide to buy a house. Other than that. I'm not going anywhere.
