I had really high hopes for this place. It looks so beautiful inside but I think they took the minimalistic thing to the next level. I was disappointed that this salon does not use those typical pedicure chairs you find at other nail salons. Instead they had a sofa and a big bowl for your feet that they put lukewarm water in. While I understand that using a separate bowl might be considered more sanitary, it just wasn't practical. I couldn't rest the weight of my legs comfortably on the bowl, and the one time I did, it shifted out of place, making me feel very uncomfortable. The setup also lacked armrests, and the seats were so deep that I could barely sit back properly. On top of that, the nail polish on some of my toes smeared when I took off my shoes at home, even though I sat for a long time to let them dry. I even asked my pedicurist if they had plastic wraps to protect my toes, but she assured me it wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, it was. Lastly, the fact that they dry the pedicure using two small hand fans placed in front of your feet seems impractical and ineffective to me. I would suggest going somewhere else for pedicures. I didn't read reviews before coming here and that's my fault. I came here bc my friends pregnant and this salon was non toxic and safe for her. The studio is so beautiful and clean. I love the decor & it feels so cozy. I got the signature mani ($30). It was a slightly sloppy job and they had to redo one nail - which is fine; whatever. But three of my nails started chipping on day 3 so I went back & they fixed my nails as a complimentary service. It's still not clean as I would like and there's clumps of nail polish / texture towards the end of my nail. I asked the lady painting my nails if it was due to the nail polish itself and she said yes. So maybe whatever formula they're using for the polish doesn't hold up? I don't know. Booked a same day appointment at Sundays for a Recharge Manicure through the Regi app. The salon has a very relaxing atmosphere despite being in the bustling Hudson Yards. I was early to my appointment but they took me in right away and offered me a selection of teas. Deepa was my nail technician and she was super sweet and very detail oriented. The nail polish color selection is a bit limited (they have classic colors), but I like that their polishes are non toxic. I didn't realize they don't use the lamps to cure your manicure and since I'm naturally impatient, I started touching things and caused a few bumps in my manicure. Knowing this, if you come in for a manicure, definitely expect to stay for at least 45 minutes afterwards to let the polish dry all the way. For the price, professionalism, and atmosphere, I would recommend this Sundays location (especially to see Deepa) to my family and friends. read more

First time ever trying out Sundays and decided to get a signature mani-pedi. All the staff were friendly and nice and the space itself felt really clean and zen. Suzy did a great job and was very meticulous applying the polish. I chose the color L5 Lavender and it results were so pretty! Will definitely come again as a treat to myself. The service itself was $29 for the mani and $49 for the pedi. A little on the pricey side but it's nice to treat yourself once in a while. My only criticism is that the polish takes a VERY long time to dry completely. My mani was drying for 30 minutes w the help of their mini fans but even then I had to be careful not to nick it for the next 1-2 hours. read more

Wow what a little hidden gem in Hudson yards! Third floor tucked away in a corner you don't even hear the sound of shoppers. I got a basic manicure. it's day 5 and no chip yet... I'm impressed. They also told me if a nail chips within a week of service they'll fix it for me free of charge! I don't know any places that do that. (Posted a photo of my nails 2 weeks after the mani too!) Sundays Studio has become one of my favorite nail salons to receive manicure services. Let me take you to that rainy evening in September 2019 when I first found out about Sundays Studio. I attended the Moxy's Fashion Week Oasis Event hosted by Sundays Studio during NY Fashion Week at the Moxy Chelsea Hotel in Manhattan. During the event, Camille coordinated the schedule and ensured that the several manicurists provided attendees w/ mini-manicures, hand massages, etc. We were also able to conduct our own self-guided meditations (via Sundays Studio portable audio devices) as well as create "self-love" poems /"self-love" letters. Peace, Tranquility, Positivity are words that sum up the overall event. I was thankful for the all of it, especially my gorgeous manicure. Camille and the manicurists made sure that everyone felt pampered and we each received a $10 voucher to use at the Sundays Studio Hudson Yards location. Arriving one particular Saturday to redeem my $10 voucher, I was so impressed with the Sundays Studio serene, peaceful looking and calming atmosphere. Shantel warmly greeted me w/ a kind smile, linked me with a manicurist to give me their signature manicure, inquired about and got me some delicious tea and made sure that I was comfortable. Since that day, I have returned several times for signature manicure services. Front Desk Receptionist Shantel has always exuded fantastic customer service and Manicurists Bertha, Abiola and Fifi provided me with professional, wonderful top-notch nail care services. I have been going for manicures for almost 30 years and although this was more expensive than basic manicure I usually get, I thought I would try it. Well, that was a big mistake. The therapist was rude and unfriendly the entire time and made me feel so uncomfortable about any movement I made such as spilling water accidentally from the bowl so over flooded with water. The fuss she made both times she went to go and get another paper towel because I dared to wet the plastic or leather table top. I have never had such a flimsy, we are doing such a favor hand massage before and she left off two steps that even the cheapest most basic nail salons always include in finishing the manicure. Came here with a group of 5 for deep hydration pedicures. I was really impressed by the small room the had for the pedicures, allowing us to chat easily and face each other during the pedicure. They were also very flexible about one member of the party changing the pedicure to only a manicure + deep hydration for the feet. I was invited back for a manicure after the horrible mani I had reported last. This second experience was more pleasant and the mani was pretty long-lasting for a regular one. There were no chicken pox bumps like I had reported the first time around too. I don't know what was done differently but this tells me that not all the technicians are equal in skill and that the salon is not consistent. I bumped the review to 3 stars because I don't exactly dislike the place but, for the prices, I think I can get a better regular mani elsewhere so I wouldn't exactly recommend it. I was really looking forward to this nontoxic experience and booked a couples mani pedi. Unfortunately the technician I had scrubbed my feet too hard within the first 5 minutes and had me bleeding. She did not apologize and I did not want to make it a big deal so I was patiently waiting for the manicure. What really pushed me to make this review was that the cuticle trimming that also left me bleeding. After about an hour of nail polish drying the polish was still too tender and even after being out for 3 hours after my 6:30 pm appointment. I would expect a nicer, warmer person as the first point of contact at a nail spa. The place is clean and charming and I was anxiously waiting for my technician. I was so excited to try Sundays out after hearing that they were opening in Hudson Yards and last night I finally stopped by for a gel manicure. I wanted to love it but I'm so disappointed that my nails started chipping less than 24 hours later! I stopped by last night right after work to get my nails done before flying to London today and I'm realizing now what a big mistake it was on my part to try out a new nail salon right before a big trip! Non-withstanding the actual manicure I did have a great experience while I was there. Their staff is very attentive, the atmosphere is peaceful, the decor is calming and they serve you a fresh brewed tea of your choice as soon as you sit down. I just wished the manicure matched the experience! While I get that their non-toxic, vegan polishes are a big draw for many people I can't justify spending $50 on a manicure that lasts less than a day. If the vegan and non-toxic nail polish isn't a must have for you and you're looking for a gel manicure I would recommend trying out the BLVD salon and their Valley Nail counter in Neiman Markus. Their gel manicure is priced exactly the same, looks amazing and lasted 2+ weeks for me! Next time I go for a manicure in Hudson Yards I'll definitely pick there over Sundays. read more

Ok - a nail appointment should *not* take 3 hours. They took two hours to do a simple mani pedi ... and then told me my nails had dried ... when they hadn't. When I reached into my purse to pay them, my nails were ruined ... and it took them an entire hour to re-do them. They also blamed me for this, telling me that "their nail polish takes three hours to dry." Umm, what?!? Also, who doesn't ask for payment *before* the mani, to prevent this exact issue? Also, my total cost came up to $116 - don't bother with the meditation because it is a waste of time with headphones. If anything, find something on Spotify and use that. So, so pleased with my evening appointment tonight with Abby! It was my first time trying the salon and I had such a great experience. Spa-like relaxation and yummy tea. It's a bit pricey (they charge separately for nail design and gel removal) but that's common amongst the competitor salons. The difference from a Paintbox and Chillhouse is that Sundays does pedicures and give you an option for a meditation manicure. The salon in Hudson Yards is in a prime location, centered right in the mall. Definately would recommend if you are looking to check out a new nail salon! read more

Was still charged for the gel removal even though I didn't get any color on my nail. As for the pedicure I received, they don't use lamps to dry your nails, its all air dry or "quick dry" drops, which don't really work well. I took off the plastic wrap on my toes and almost all the polish is ruined. For the prices they charge, I would highly recommend another salon. read more

I love this location of Sundays! Came here to get my valentines mani and it did not disappoint. I love their selection of colors. so bright but also soft and pastel. The fact that they are non toxic is an extra plus! There are major Parisian chic vibes in here and you can even do a guided meditation. All of the techs that I've had have been super nice and detail oriented. Definitely make an appointment online to book though, I think they very rarely can take a walk in! I think their prices are also pretty fair. $25 for their signature manicure! I will say I was a little annoyed that I was not told that by choosing 4 colors that's considered nail art. I would have been charged $20 extra for that... but since my technician didn't say anything they only charged for 1/2 of it. Literally looks like a TV set that can be moved in a night's notice. -as a 5'7" individual who brought her 5'11" husband, our legs were way too long for the chairs to get our pedicures done. +polish (not gel) surprisingly withstanding. Went +2 weeks without a chipped toe, even with my walking 10K steps a day. +nice brewed tea (though no refills) It's such a strange and poorly executed space. I had a wonderful gel manicure done here last week! There is slight chipping on my right thumb but besides that, I am so impressed with this studio. I've been struggling to find a "clean" nail salon in the city that does gel nails and was incredibly impressed with the service, clean and relaxing environment, and cost ($40 for a simple waterless gel manicure). Even though I did waterless, I still feel like my cuticles got a little bit of love and my technician did a fab job shaping my nails. Definitely my new go-to salon!
