The ladies working were not very friendly but the woman who worked on my nails really took her time to do a great job on my nails making sure I liked the design and that there weren't any streaks or bubbles. I don't do reviews. I think this is my first one but I've been here three times and 2/3 times I've had blisters from aggressive cuticle removal. I'm a mom and I barely get time to pamper myself and even though the staff is polite, they really need to make it worth what they're charging. Todays manicure left me with 2 bloody cuticles, one of them that is still bleeding as you can see from the picture, barely an apology for causing that and a snuff for no tip. Last time it was my big toe nail that bled during a pedicure which still hurts from time to time. They gave me a Christmas coupon for 10$ off once which I missplaced and asked them for a replacement which they curtly refused. I mean it's just not it's penny's worth! I'm going back to Nams. I left work as I needed my nails done for an important event and they couldn't service me outside of business hours due to availability. if they cannot honor a reservation, they shouldn't commit to them. I've been coming here every month for almost a year and just switched nail techs after mine left. Lisa did a phenomenal job - she was very gentle and gave me exactly what I wanted. My nails look even better than I hoped for and I will definitely continue to see Lisa from now on. The photos don't do this set justice at all. Lisa also gave me the best post-nail massage I have EVER gotten. The owner and her family are all super sweet and I really have nothing but great things to say about this place. If I could give this place 100 stars I would! I have some friends who swore by this place and told me all about the amazingness of Xixi! I have to admit I've been to her several times and was extremely pleased with the work done. I typically get a gel manicure and it was lasting for weeks! That being said, Xixi isn't always there. I actually stopped going here bc it's not exactly the most convenient nail salon to my apartment. But after many many disappointments I decided to go back. This time I had Mae. I now go out of my way to come here for a gel manicure! My nails always last for WEEKS. This most recent time I made it 3 weeks and didn't actually NEED to go I just felt my nails grew too long and i couldn't type normally at work I am sad to see such poor reviews because I've had such a great experience! Got just a regular pedicure, no polish. Was nothing special, but felt rushed most of the way through except for the massage which was the best part. This was the worst mani/pedi experience I've had thus far in NYC (I've lived here for 5 years). I took a client to get a mani/pedi and called ahead to make reservations a week in advance. Not only did we not get seated together, we weren't able to have the manicure we wanted because there weren't enough people staffed (I also mentioned the specific manicure when I called for a reservation). They were extremely rude to us and filed down our nails so much that they made us bleed. Which leads me to my next point... A woman literally treated the callus scraper like a razor blade and quite literally, sawed off a piece of my toe (see photo) and nipped at my pinky toe (see photo). By the time I left the salon, I looked down at my foot and realized that I was bleeding through my shoe. Mind you, I got my pedicure BEFORE my manicure, which meant that my toe was bleeding for 50 minutes. Upon noticing the blood, I walked back in to the salon and asked for a bandaid and informed them I was displeased with the service. Instead of receiving an apology or my money back, I was greeted with 4 women standing around my foot pointing and mocking what I had experienced and were actually laughing. Long story short. The lady who did my mani/pedi was super rough when they cut my nails and cuticles. This made for a super painful experience. When I got home, one of my fingernails started bleeding in two different places. The worst part of this experience is my toe nail. I felt pain when she cut too much and told her that. She insisted that it was an ingrown nail. I doubted this at the time because I've never felt pain there before, but blew it off. A day later my toe started to swell up to the point that I needed to go to a doctor and get an antibiotic prescription. Do not come here, I don't think their supplies are clean and I don't think the ladies here, at least the one who did my nails (short hair, glasses) has any skills. Moreover, my nail beds were horrible and she painted so unevenly. They're lucky I'm not suing. read more

Best massage chairs I have ever experienced in a nail salon. I would not say this place is high end and some areas are a bit cluttered and unclean. The prices are decent and the service is good. I was drying my pedicure and someone came over to check on me. She rubbed her finger across my big toe and completely messed up the coat on it. I think she felt bad because she proceeded to try and give me another coat over it but it was too messed up to be fixed. They have a coupon card where if you come 10 times, the 11th time is free. I went to Stylish 10 to get a powder dip manicure and am so thrilled with the results. I've been a customer there for several years and have always been happy but this manicure was easily one of the best I've had. Ana was my technician and her attention to detail was wonderful. My nails look like they have regular gel polish versus the thick result I got from another salon. She took her time and made sure my nails were perfect. I will absolutely return for my next manicure. The salon is no-frills and doesn't look terribly inviting from the outside but the staff is friendly and competent and they don't constantly try to up sell you on services you don't need like many salons do. read more

Stylish Ten is one of the best affordable nail salons I've ever been to. The space is big, clean, and has comfortable massage chairs for their pedicure seats. I went in on a Friday after work and did not have to wait at all. I only needed a pedicure ($21), but next time I'd try to go between Monday through Thursday to take advantage of their packaged mani-pedi which is just $26. The service is very nice, and after my pedicure I was treated to a short upper back/shoulder massage while seated at the nail drying station. P.S. They have an impressive wall of OPI and Essie polishes for you to choose from... Which, if you're indecisive like me, is actually the hardest part of going to a nail salon! read more

Upon walking through the door for two pedicures, we were immediately serviced. We skipped the entire process of choosing a color before being serviced so it was a bit funny. They were quick and efficient. They seemed to have some really great deals posted on the wall. The one i remembered was $45 for a mani, pedi and a 20 min massage. I'd like to try that sometime. The spa appeared to be tidy and spacious which is nice. The only thing that bothered me was how they try to sell you another service while you're enjoying a pedicure. We got pedicures but the whole thing was rushed and the technician did not seem to sanitize the tools before using them. GROSS!!! Major red flag. Also, the lady did not even bother to scrub under my feet, it was just a rushed and horrible pedicure. Sure, my toes look okay, but it wasn't relaxing, the technicians kept screaming and talking over each other. How am I supposed to relax like this while getting a pedicure, isn't that the whole point? I just moved to the neighborhood so this was my first visit to Stylish Ten - I'll definitely be returning. I'm deducting a star because, while Sofia was a perfectionist and my gel manicure came out very well, she worked rather slowly. She took a particularly long time removing the gel manicure I had done elsewhere, but that may have been because the salon does not have mechanical gel removal tools. I was happy, however, with the gel color selection and with the technician's skill. The massage at the end while my nails were drying was an added bonus. The salon draws a solid crowd at lunch hour. I would be prepared to wait about 15 minutes if you don't have an appointment, but they were very good with keeping my appointment and took me right away. The gel manicure cost me $35 and eyebrow waxing cost $9.50. Next time I'll remember to bring cash for the cash discount. In total, I spent 1 hour 20 minutes in the salon. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. The service was attentive and friendly, and I am pleased with the results. read more

HOWEVER, my gel manicure began peeling off on Monday (5/16) - less than 6 full days after I had gotten my gel manicure!! This is unbelievable - I've had gel manicures last 3 weeks and regular manicures that have lasted longer than this one. Quite possibly THE WORST manicure I've ever experienced. Do yourself a favor and don't come here. Where do I even start on how everything that can go wrong, went wrong. 1) They clearly dilute their gel removal solution. There was no way that after soaking for 10 minutes that my technician had to forcefully file and scrape off my old gel polish...almost to the point of bruising. That is NOT the way to do it. 2) Cut and filed my nails to look like a square box with sharp blunt edges without ever asking me for shaping preference. WTF moment. 3) Gel painting on my nails were actually also terrible. The technician had to wipe off the existing color and repaint multiple times with the end results still streaky. 4) My gel color nails chipped after 2 days....what?? Also, I was pretty sure the utensils used on me were not property sanitized. They had been all thrown into a basket and were just sitting on an empty table when I sat down....And she used the same tools on me. The funniest part was when the technician was clearly upset upon seeing her tip was no more than the standard amount. Save your money go elsewhere. read more

Totally go here if you would like your nail beds ruined for a good three months or so. I wish I could give negative stars. I've had a few manicures here and they are OK but not great. I was in a pinch and needed a pedicure before leaving for the holiday weekend and thought I would try that service here as well since I hadn't been totally disappointed with them in the past. I went in around 2, the place was empty, they sat me right away. I open a magazine to start reading and before I know it, the lady is clipping away on my nails. Didn't ask if I wanted them cut or filed and to beat it, she has cut three of my nails down the to quick before I can stop her. I politely tell her I did not really want my nails cut but now to keep them even she needs to cut all of them. Then she starts filing the hell out of them. It was so painful having her file down the nerve endings on my smallest toes because she had exposed the nail bed in some places. She cut them so short but I didn't have a choice but to let her continue because instead of cutting a normal round shaped nail, she lopped everything off in a straight line. Then she maybe rubbed lotion on for all of 10 seconds, and then painted. That was the pedicure. No massage, not even any bubbles in the chair AND it was 21 dollars for a quarter of the services and time I get at my usually place (Eves Nails). I know in NYC you should never cheat on your nail salon and I've definitely learned my lesson. DONT SET FOOT IN THIS HORRIFIC ESTABLISHMENT unless you want to end up like me laying awake at 5 am, writing a scathing yelp review because your toes are aching from having someone basically take a machete to them. Sorry Eves, I'll be back for my weekly mani/pedi as soon as my toenails grow out to an acceptable length. read more
