I debated writing this review because the staff here are genuinely kind, and I never want to diminish that. Their attitudes have always been warm, welcoming, and professional. That said, I believe honesty is important--especially when others rely on reviews to decide where to spend their time and money. I had previously stopped coming here because I noticed a gradual decline in the level of detail and overall quality of service. Recently, due to a last-minute scheduling issue, I returned because it was the only nearby option. Unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed once again. I chose builder gel this visit (I typically get rubber base or hard gel from my Russian nail tech). While I understand that different techniques yield different finishes, the final result was noticeably uneven and bumpy. I could have overlooked some of that had the cuticle work been thorough--but it wasn't. Clean cuticle work is my top priority when getting my nails done, and I even asked to confirm that it would be addressed. I was assured it would be, yet the cuticles were not properly cleaned or detailed. To be clear, the shaping and design were good, and I do trust their aesthetic sense. However, it felt as though the meticulousness that defines high-quality nail services simply wasn't there. When paying the same price (plus tip) that I pay my regular nail technician--who provides detailed cuticle care and a smoother finish--it's difficult not to compare the overall value. The pricing here is fair for the area, and again, the staff are kind. But kindness alone does not replace consistency and attention to detail. I've included photos so others can objectively see what I'm describing. I had read another review mentioning a decline in service and chose to overlook it; in hindsight, I think it's important to consider patterns when making decisions. This review is not written out of frustration, but out of fairness to future clients. If you value detailed cuticle work and a flawless finish, it may be worth asking specific questions before booking. If you want a dip, do not go here!!! One of my nails popped off while I was opening my car door upon leaving the salon, then two others popped off that evening while I was making dinner. I went back and they did replace the three nails, but then the next day another two nails popped off. This went on for three days until they decided to take all of the nails off and redo them. The owner came over and squeezed my neck and said, "Don't worry, have a massage". The Therapist came over and provided a 15-minute massage that I was then expected to pay for! I went home, and the next set subsequently all popped off. I obviously did not go back! read more

Awful awful experience today. Avoid at all costs. At a friend's recommendation, I made an appointment with Paul for 6 pm today. I arrived and let the woman know I was here for my appointment and she gave me a funny look, then looked down at my nails, and said "no, Paul only does acrylics and designs". I know this isn't true because he does my friend's gels. I told her I was confused as I had made the appointment for builder gels, no problem. She then went over and whispered to Paul, came back and said he was doing a very extensive design and would not be ready for quite some time. But she had someone else who could do the work. This was not only weird but deeply insulting. Why book appointments at all if you have no intention of honoring the time or the service requested? I've been a loyal customer for the past three years, but unfortunately, the quality of service and consistency in pricing has declined significantly. Lately, every visit seems to come with a different charge for the exact same Gel mani-pedi, with no clear explanation for the variation. During my most recent visit, I was charged for a pedicure that was never provided. On top of that, the technician accidentally cut two of my toes, and I left the salon bleeding. I tried to share my concerns with the owner/manager at the front desk, but she was dismissive and unwilling to address the issue. Instead of feeling relaxed after my appointments, I've consistently left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this salon and strongly suggest considering alternative options for your nail care needs. Very frustrated with this salon. Seems like they try and charge you for every little thing. On the service sheet it states cuticle cutting is included in all the pedi and mani services but yet I've been charge 10$ just to cut my cuticles. I've went back to this salon more than 5 times hopping it would get better because it's close to my house, but won't be coming back. I got a gel pedicure single color & was charged 85$... I got hard gel & was charged 110$ single color. I understand there was a 25$ removal fee of the previous nails I had on but prices are outrageous I've never in my life paid more than 100$ for nails... let alone 200$! I usually come for a manicure/pedicure, but they have other services as well. The manager is always friendly and checks to make sure you are happy with your services. Look this place is busy and packed which is normally a good sign (I figured) so they must be doing something right. I just found it frustrating that my manicurist didn't use a fresh set of sanitized tools and thought that I wouldn't notice. She was sneaky about it, most places unwrap a newly sanitized pair of tools in front of you, this woman quickly pulled it out from somewhere underneath the table. I am disappointed that I need to be writing this but I've had it with this place. I've been a Nail Boutique client for 10+ years. I supported them through the pandemic. I've been a Nail Boutique loyalist for YEARS. As of late, the attitude of everyone in this place is unbearable and so rude. Amy has left me waiting 20+ minutes multiple times. I understand that that happens every so often but not every time. I always make an appt and am always on time, and if I am running behind, I call and communicate that. My last straw was when I was running late and called. I was 10 minutes behind. They told me I was going to have to wait about 30 minutes because I was running late and the techs took someone else. I've been gracious with them when I have to wait, I'd expect the same in return, especially because I was driving in from the city. Yes, I still stuck with them even after I moved away. Anyway, that's not to mention the quality of the techs. Hardly anyone does nail art and hardly anyone does a proper cuticle removal. When I leave, it looks like my nails have been grown for a few days already. Additionally, they need to be more thorough with their cleanliness. It's gross. It's not until I've tried another place that I realized that Nail Boutique is pretty bad. They don't care for quality anymore. They just care about churning out customers. There are some great and not so great things about this place. Let's start with the good. The place is clean, there is a large selection of colors, and the nail techs are pretty much perfectionists. Unfortunately, my main issue is that every time I go, the prices differ - for example gel x usually starts at $70 for design-free nails, but sometimes they will bump it up to $80 for no reason. They don't have a price list on display and I have heard from several clients that they charge different prices for the same exact service. Second, Paul is really great and truly delivers a clean nail, however he thinks he knows best. He won't do a thick French tip or let the client pick a preferred color if he doesn't like it. Came here with my brother, who wanted to treat me out for my bday! It's a great little nail salon right on Ventura. Called the day before and made an appointment for 2. We got there for our appointment time and were greeted right away. We got to pick our nail colors and then got into the spa massage chairs. The salon is extremely clean and everyone was so attentive. I found Nail Boutique on trusty dusty Yelp. A good number of the reviews mentioned Calvin and Chris by name. After scrolling through the photos of the nail art I decided to give Nail Boutique a try. I called spoke to Amy (who was very kind and professional might I add) and set an appointment for a gel manicure with Calvin. Now let's get down to business. I'll start with the cons since they're not that many. Cons: 1) The nail salon is located in Ventura Blvd in Studio City. You know what that means, street parking only. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly easy to find parking in the neighborhood. 2) They are a bit pricey. I got a gel manicure with a design on my ring fingers and it cost $50. I'm used to paying $35 for this type of service, but I loved my nails and the entire experience so it's not a deterrent for me but may be for others. And now the pros.... Pros: 1) They are honest. When I arrived for my appointment and showed Calvin the nail design I wanted, he told me that was not a design he had done before and that Chris was the person who did that. I was thankful that he was honest in that moment and not try to do a design that he wasn't comfortable with. I appreciate that. 2) Chris has skillz. She transformed my old manicure into a refreshing work of art. At the end of the manicure I couldn't believe they were my real nails. They look like acrylic tips. 3) The atmosphere was friendly. Everyone had smiles even the other clients and we were all chatting amongst each other. (Note: I don't usually talk to other people when I go into nail salons so this speaks volumes) Overall, they were excellent and they have a new client in me. Shhhh...
