When we brought it up, several workers began arguing with us and made it seem like it was our fault. After going back and forth, the gentleman at the front desk eventually refunded the difference. However, the situation didn't end there. After we left and were already at Chipotle, the same gentleman followed us outside and told me he forgot to charge me for the gel color and asked if I could Zelle him $15. Tried polygel, gel x, hard gel, etc. Every time there was something visibly wrong. Be it too thick, uneven, missed cuticle work, etc. but I kept trying anyways. The last time I went in I asked for a natural looking French and showed the inspo pics seen in my screenshot below, the tech picked out a pink and I said yes that looks good. I watch a movie on my phone and next thing I know I'm done! No French added, thick clumpy paint, gel covering my cuticles. It's upsetting because nails are a luxury service, they're not cheap, but for whatever reason they have been consistently been done with lack of detail. The tech tried to argue with me at first but when I showed her the pictures again she couldn't deny that she didn't give me what I asked for. She asked me if I wanted to do French still and I said no thank you (that would've looked even more insane), I said just put a layer of chrome please and she did. They didn't refund me, didn't offer to remove them or discount my next service or anything. I won't be returning and I hope that this place does additional training for their techs or compensates them more- not sure what the problem is because it's a beautiful, clean, well equipped salon but the work itself is just not consistently worth it.

This last time I came, I had one of the ladies take my old set off since the nail tech laid acrylic over two lifting nails on my first visit and they ended up creating a worse problem. Great, I needed a refresh anyway. She proceeds to put SUPER tiny tips on my nails, which makes them look thin on the sides like I like but it created terrible ingrown nails because it squeezed the sides of the nails. Ultimately I picked a solid red color and she charged me $25 more than the listed price. No reason for it since it's a simple acrylic set with one color. This happened last time and I assumed it was the glitter color was more but it seems she decides on the fly what to charge. Now, three months later, my nails are so thin and have 5 huge pieces of acrylic still stuck to them. I've since moved away and found a new nail tech who refuses to pull them off entirely because they are causing tearing and bleeding on my natural nail. I have religiously done my nails my whole life so three months of this is upsetting and ridiculous. Lastly, they were playing a movie with full blown sex scenes in the salon one of the times when I went and it was so uncomfortable. She apologized after a few minutes of it but continued being standoffish and awkward to me, which was another part of the bad experience. I came back one last time to give them a chance since I liked the end result and color selection, but I made a huge mistake returning.

It felt like she was just lightly waving a gua sha tool over my skin with almost no pressure. There was virtually no therapeutic pressure or technique with that tool. When she used her hands, I was hoping she would spend more time on my neck and shoulders, but that part was very short. I kept wondering what she was actually doing.. Once I turned over, the experience completely changed. She used her elbows to press down very aggressively. It wasn't just deep pressure, it felt like she didn't really know how to massage properly. She asked if the pressure was okay a few times, but I said yes because I was worried that if I complained, she'd go back to barely touching me. I've had massages regularly at many different places, and I've never experienced someone who relied almost entirely on digging in with their elbows like this. It felt more rough than therapeutic. She also scraped my calves way too hard with a gua sha tool. It wasn't relieving at all, it was just an unpleasant kind of pain. Overall, I was disappointed from beginning to end. I ended up with bruises all over my back, and after the massage I felt so dizzy that I had a headache and felt unwell for the next three days. On top of that, I developed an itchy rash on both sides of my neck that still hasn't gone away. I'm not sure if it was caused by the massage oil or the massage itself. The therapist was kind and friendly, but unfortunately the massage itself was one of the worst I've had. Based on my experience, I honestly don't understand why this place has such high reviews. I was really looking forward to it and left very disappointed.
