I typically come here when I need a simple pedicure, mainly because it's conveniently located in a plaza I frequent and also because I can align it with my wax appointments at another business in the area. Price is a little high for a regular pedicure but they do a good job making sure I'm followed up with on what I want (and the last salon I went to led to an infected toe nail). The workers here are communicative with their clients. I recommend getting your nails done here on a weekday because like many other places, weekends are packed. 4/28/25 CORRECTION: I incorrectly notated the fee for ATM withdrawal was $4.50. The actual fee was $2.50. My error and I wanted to make this correction. Still would not recommend going! The staff is very friendly. I have gone to this salon twice. Once for my birthday in Sept. 2024. My daughter and I had pedicures, and my niece had a manicure. Although the technicians were friendly, neither of our pedicures were very neat! We both said that we would not go back. Now my niece's manicure was very nice. On Thursday, April 17, 2025 I decided to get a manicure and went back to Classy Nails. Again the staff were very nice. I was told $45 for acrylic nails. Ok, I'm thinking $5 tip ($50) not bad for set of nails. The technician confirmed my length (short) and selected the nails. She was getting ready to lay the nails without trimming my cuticles. I asked her to first trim my cuticles. She said that will cost extra. I said that I have never heard of getting nails and not having my cuticles cut first. I SHOULD HAVE LEFT THEN! She trimmed my cuticles and laid my nails. I selected color of polish and all seemed fine. She cut nails to length I wanted. Perfect! She filed down, bluffed and polished my nails. At first, I thought very nice. I went to pay and there is a $4.50 charge for use of ATM. I took out $60. I was told $55. They charged me $10 to cut my cuticles! So $55 for nail and $3 tax. I paid the $58, and used ATM to take out another $20 and gave the technician a $7 tip. After leaving and sitting in my car, the sun light was hitting my hand/nails I could see the side of a couple of fingers where the polish was so light that the sun rays were coming through. I also felt my nails and realized they were not smooth! I could feel the lumps and see were the polish were wasn't around the entire nails! Horrible job! I have attached pictures of my nails. I wear rubber gloves when I wash dishes and do other chores around the house. I will NEVER EVER go back to Classy Nails! There is no way on earth I could recommend this place. When I arrived they said they only remove the polish for dollars and it would cost 20.00 to remove the nails. Absolutely Terrible - Do Not Waste Your Time or Money Here! I cannot even begin to express how awful my experience at this nail salon was. I went in expecting a simple, relaxing manicure, but what I got was a nightmare. The technician started gluing on fake nails, and I noticed something strange: there was a plastic string underneath the nail. I had no idea what it was for, but before I could even ask, she yanked the string out without a single word of explanation. What happened next was absolutely horrendous. The string being pulled out ripped half of my real nail off--it was excruciatingly painful, and I immediately started bleeding. I was in shock. How could anyone at a professional salon be so careless and reckless with their technique? I was in tears from the pain, and when I tried to tell them what had happened, they didn't even apologize. Instead, they just brushed me off and refused to offer any sort of refund or even attempt to make the situation right. Not a single offer of compensation or a follow-up to check if I was okay. The complete lack of professionalism and basic care was astounding. They clearly don't care about their customers or their well-being. I was left in pain, bleeding, and with a ruined nail, while they just went on like nothing happened. I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. If you value your nails and your health, DO NOT go to this salon. I wouldn't trust them to touch my nails again, and I'll make sure to warn everyone I know to stay far, far away from this disaster of a place. I was next door for another service and walked in without an appointment and there was no other customers in there and now I can see why . This makes zero sense to me as to why it took over an hour when they started on me immediately and still couldn't manage to do a good job . The shape and cuticle cutting was fine . But the gel looks mediocre at best . My 8 year old daughter could have done better . I love love love the color I chose but I can say will confidence I will NEVER come to this place again . Updating my review because this place continues to wow me every time! I now live in San Ramon and still travel 45 minutes to this place for my nail care. When you find the right people you will go to them no matter the distance! I prefer Lili to do my deluxe pedicures and Tina my gel manicures. The ladies are nice but the first thing I notice is they do not have liners for the pedicure baths. The next day I'm having pain in my right big toe after the technician removed my ingrown nail- I think it's infected. It's red , swollen and painful . I don't like leaving negative reviews but I will not be returning here. Perhaps if they start using plastic liners in the pedicure baths it would be the first defense against a nail infection. I visited the nail salon for the first time today for a manicure. It was crowded, but they took me right away..(.they have eight or nine nail techs) The nail tech, a woman (the owner?)was cheerful, but totally distracted the entire time. Getting up numerous times, to either greet customers or talk to other techs. She was not at all focusing on my manicure. When she finished, rather quickly I was disappointed in the manicure, but since it was crowded I said nothing. Later, when I looked at my nails, I was upset. I went to classy nails on a Sunday morning around 10:00am. I knew coming at this time I will get great service since they're recently open for the day. There was 1 customer at the salon and I got undivided attention. They took their time cleaning and trimming my nails and gave me a wonderful foot massage. I really appreciate these type of things. I called ahead on a Friday afternoon and they were busy, told me to come at 3. When I arrived they did honor my "reservation" because a couple of people were waiting but I was seated first. If I had a dollar for every time she got up, answered the phone, or was making other calls/tending to other clients and workers I'd have enough money to pay for my service. My nails are crooked but I was desperate to get them fixed. I'll be fixing them at home. I also used a Groupon which is what brought me here and the manager seemed irritated like she wouldn't accept that form of payment. I have to pay extra fees on top which was fine with me, as long as she accepted the Groupon. My walk-in pedicure and dip manicure (over $100 with tip) not only turned out with tips much thicker than nails - leaving an actual"dip" in each - but I was harshly scolded for not being able to specify precise instructions for how I wanted the "milky" look I requested. What started as a question about how they would suggest an approach turned into a lecture about how much I didn't know about how deep a pink I wanted or the number of layers or top coat color. Even when I several times said I trusted their experience as professionals and had no experience with this kind of manicure - the lecture continued with a scolding tone of exasperation. Candy and Jenny are the best especially bc I have a little ingrown toe nail issues. I come to this el cerrito location on sundays where you can find Jenny and candy. Due to covid they recommend appointments for social distancing, they require masks and all the employees where gloves. Just got my pedicure from Maya for the first time and she was amazing! I had went in the day before for a fill, the nails turned out okay . I do feel like she could've do 3 coats of the color but I do take responsibility for not letting her know that the color was looking patchy. I stopped in here for the first time today to get gel removed that I had done someplace else. I don't have an appointment but was welcomed in and they started working on me right away. Gel is super pretty and it can stay a long time but my nails grew very fast and it was feeling uncomfortable. The services I had was a removal, regular manicure no polish, and paraffin dip. The owner had started the removal process with me and was very nice and friendly, and what I really appreciated was that he answered questions I had about gel and why I need to get tinfoil hats on my fingers to remove them. After I was soaked and scraped another manicurist stepped on to complete the process, she too was very nice and friendly.
