This nail salon is absolutely terrible. They rush through your manicure and are VERY impolite and rude. They talk poorly about you to their staff, not knowing we may potentially speak the language. They boss you around and slap you with a nail file. The man that works there told me to put my phone away when I was on the phone making a work call and I work in the medical field. Found this place by chance because they were nearby and open on a Sunday. I'm so glad I did! Cindy and Tom took good care of my hands and feet. My fingernails have been week lately, from what I thought was too many gel manicures. Cindy took the time to educate me on cuticle care and how over grooming can cause weak nails. This place is absolutely terrible in every way possible. When I walked in with my son (4) I sat him on my lap to get a simple gel removal and fresh regular polish pics below. The woman that came to do my hands grabbed my son off of my lap without asking me or my permission and tried to sit him on a wheeed stool next to me that I said he would fall off of, then she sat him on a massage chair next to me. He looked very upset and we were both very uncomfortable and honestly quite shocked. Then the woman doing my hands moved my wallet phone and drink behind me without telling me. Don't touch my personal items without telling me. Don't touch my kid. PERIOD. Then after that they start to drill off my gels which has to be quite damaging and FILED my nails down on top down to nothing so now my nails feel like sandpaper. My nails are uneven now they didn't spend anytime on my cuticles the woman doing my toes was being very bossy with me when I said I didn't like something they blamed everything on my nail beds being uneven lol. The woman that did my toes said she also did a top coat on my toes and she most certainly did not. Overall this place is bossy pushy in a rush will invade personal space. And the. When I went to pay she asked me to Venmo and read my tip amount OUT LOUD. Tammy is the manager or owner and she just sits and watches it all so she is very much to blame as well. I chose this place because it is right next to my office. The manicures do not last and they have no idea what customer service is. I went in there with a back pain for a manicure I asked to sit on a Spa chair, I would have paid for the extra cost but they refused to oblige. I have been there 4 or 5 times and it always seems like they have no idea who I am . The white women are quickly helped and taken care of but they always give me a hard time. She took her time explaining to me what the SNS system was over regular gel and other methods and she never made me feel rushed or uncomfortable. Also, she puts so much love into doing your nails. I started going to this shop years ago, when I lived in the West Valley. These days, it's not the easiest or most convenient stop for me to get to. It's also not the most economical choice around. Their prices have gone up. The waits have gotten longer. It's harder to find free parking in the back. And yet, every time I try a "closer" or "cheaper" or "faster" place, I end up going back to Nail Elegance. There are three reasons: 1.) They do a better job than other salons. No nubby cuticles, half painted pinkies, or barely scrubbed heels here! 2.) The atmosphere is head and shoulders above most other L.A. nail shops. They have brand new massage chairs, a soothing decor, unobtrusive music, and an excellent selection of guilty pleasure magazines. 3.) The staff is really, really nice. They always remember my name and ask about my mother, my job, my boyfriend, my last vacation, and so on. I feel like they miss me when I don't show up for long stretches (and, along those lines, I always feel like I've "cheated" when I go to other salons and come back). Like most nail pros, they'll do their best to upsell you: callus remover? extra massage? leg scrub? flower art? The thing is, they're all actually good add-ons...and worth it. Do I really NEED a 15-minute hot stone neck massage while my nails dry? No. Am I ALWAYS glad I agreed to it? Yes!!! read more

not thrilled about my experience. I work right down the street, so I came in on my lunch break to get a pedicure and relax. I had a 6 week old gel pedicure that I had previously trimmed and painted over with regular polish but hadn't thought to mention it because it had practically grown out. The woman started speaking to the main nail woman in Vietnamese and begrudgingly went to go get her dremmel. In less than a minute, the polish was filed off. The pedicure went on...business as usual... and within my hour lunch break, it was done. I was excited because it was quick, clean and efficient. I didn't get a new color and left my nails bare. I just wanted cleaned up feet. Since I didn't need to wait for drying, I simply put my sneakers on and got on my way. As I was checking out, the woman charged me an extra charge... I asked her why and she said, "well you don't tell us you have gel polish, that's extra charge." to which I replied, "well, it was grown out and I didn't apply a new polish today, so why would you... never mind, run my card so I can leave." Honestly, as first time customer, this is such a bad impression. I was excited with how quickly and cleanly my pedicurist had taken care of me and hoped this was be a new weekly lunch break escape but the main woman's attitude and lack of customer service just irritated me away. I tipped the woman $10 because she did good work, but it just seems unrealistic to me for a business not to be customer service oriented. It's not like its a corporation that can't bend the rules. It's a small business that should be oriented to benefit the customer to incentivize returning business. I will not be returning or recommending this business to friends. read more

It's sad to say I wasted my money and time at this place. It was a walk-in so I had to wait a little. I went here to get a mani/pedi, once I walked out the door; one of my toes were messed up so I walked back in to let them know. While the man was fixing it, one of the workers there (female) approached me & asked if I'm leaving a tip. It seemed like I was obligated to do so, thank God I didn't. The only thing I seemed to like was the foot massage that's included with the the pedicure. Other than that I will never come back to this place. My nails got chipped the day after. If you do not have cash for tip, the vendor indicated to me that she charged $2.00 just to charge out at a higher amount for you to leave a cash tip for the nail artists. This place charged me twice for the same service and forgot to cancel/refund the earlier mistaken charge. This place is fantastic. I always get such fantastic service! I tend to get gels on my fingers and regular on my toes... The gels I would suggest because they last longer and for me look better because of no chipping. They always do a great massage, service, and the price is completely affordable. I'm a fan! Found Nail Elegance by accident and I am so glad I did. I've been back two times since the first time and my pedicure and gel manicure looked amazing each time. Tammy did my nails and Kelly did my feet. I brought a friend who lives in Downey (almost an hour away) and she is just as much a fan. She actually drove out another time so that she could come here. The last time I went Tammy was out of town so the gentleman who works there did my nails. The outcome was lovely but I was not a fan of him filing my old gels off. She will not, and I quote "let you leave unless your nails are perfect" and she made my nails LITERALLY perfect!
