After my longtime nail technician closed his business in Westlake Village, I spent some time researching salons closer to my Encino home. I am willing to go out of my way for superior service but wanted to see if there are highly rated salons in my area that offer the quality of service I want and that I can support with my business. I found Nail Elegance through Yelp reviews, called the next day for an appointment, and was in a spa chair the day after that. From the minute I walked in I was impressed - the salon is beautiful, clean, and well-organized. I was promptly greeted and directed to a spa chair. Everyone was in face masks. I had made appointments for a regular pedicure and a dip powder manicure. Tina did my pedicure - she was gentle, careful, and precise and found exactly the color I had in mind for my toes. Tami did my dip powder manicure, achieving exactly the nail color and shape I wanted from a photograph I showed her. She was also gentle, careful, and precise as she treated my nails. I was very pleased with how attentive both Tina and Tami were as they did my nails - they no doubt give many manicures and pedicures every day but I did not feel like "just another client." I paid $50 + tips for a new rink and white set. In 3 days, two nails started to clip from my original nail. In a week one nail fall off. I came to salon and Ivi put new tip and new powder it and put the glue for another one that was clipping. She said that I need a new set. But this is exactly what she personally did for me a week ago!! Ok, next day - another nail came off (the one that she put glue on) and the one that she put a new tip and new powder started to clip again. Overpriced and not even a good service! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews as I was once a small business owner myself but I was truly shocked by my experience at this place. I went in last Thursday for a mani/pedi. I called in advance to make an appointment and was told to come at 3:30. My regular salon was booked and I wanted to look nice for an important meeting the following day. The place looked clean, and they insisted everyone wear a mask (they even provided the masks) which was a bonus. Beyond that, the service was HORRIBLE. Although the environment looked clean, they didn't open a package of sterilized tools. My technician picked up some tools that looked used and immediately went to work on my pedicure. My service was VERY RUSHED and he wrapped up my pedi within 10 minutes (no exaggeration)! I had worked hard all day and wanted a relaxing full service pedicure but they seemed intent on getting me out of the place as quickly as possible. I really should have left then but I needed to look put together for a meeting so let them proceed with a manicure. HUGE mistake. Again, it was a rush job. They didn't bother to shape my nails, no filing or buffing. I received one coat of polish. I asked for another coat but was told it wouldn't look nice. It chipped horribly within hours although I tried to be extra careful. The next day I went back to the salon to simply ask to see the color samples so I could get the name of the polish (I remembered the number but not the name). I wanted to buy the polish from somewhere else so I could touch up my nails before my meeting. I was dismissed and asked to leave. I said, "I got my nails done yesterday and they're already chipping pretty badly....I just need the name of the polish." A woman, that I believe was the owner kept working on another customer and flatly stated "we can't help you." I ended up having to remove the polish and just paint my nails clear. It was a waste of money and time. This place is lacking in service skills. It was my first and last visit. Seriously, SKIP IT. read more

I went to Nail Elegance for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I called a few hours earlier to make an appointment with Tammy after reading all of the reviews. She is the best! I am so particular about my nails and she did an incredible job. I'm so happy I found her. It couldn't be better! The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. This salon was just recently remodeled and they have new spa chairs. They use LED lights for gel nail polish which is much faster and safer. I am definately coming back here every two weeks. I graduated from college this past weekend. In order to celebrate my handwork and accomplishments, I decided to give myself a special day of beauty and pampering. Based of of Yelp reviews, even though this place IS WAY OVERPRICED, I decided I would give them a try. After all, I only graduate once. I called two days in advance to make the appointment and discuss what I wanted. The lady on the phone was nice and made me feel like this was going to be a great experience. Friday morning arrives and I come into the shop.... upon entering, the lady in the front glances up and then looks back down, without saying a word. So I sit and wait for a few minutes until a customer urges the lady to acknowledge me. I was not happy and feeling bit uneasy, but maybe they were just busy. Once she does finally greet me, after a good 4 or 5 minutes, I remind her of the conversation that we had just a few days earlier, which she recalls and then yells something in a foreign language to the girls in the back. I was suppose to get $48 "deluxe" pedicure, which according to the woman I spoke to included callous removal, extra massage, and special products that would soften my skin. When I sat down at the chair, the technician barely said a word to me at all, which I do not need conversation, but at least some customer service introductions in the beginning would have been nice. She begins the process... now, I have never been there before or know what is in deluxe pedicure, so when the technician looks up and asks me if I want to pay $8 extra to get the callous removal. So I tell her that I thought that was part of the deluxe pedicure. To which she replies... "oh you wanted the deluxe"so then I realize, she is not even doing the right pedicure. Keep in mind she has already filed my nails. let me feet soak, and was in the scrub part of the regular pedicure which cost HALF of what a deluxe costs, so about half way done, when she tried to add the special products to the water and call it a deluxe. I told her never mind, just finish the regular pedicure because I did not think it was fair to pay for full price for a deluxe but only receive half of the service. That was the first huge problem. Then I am asking her about doing design on the nail... which I had confined that they did nail art before even booking this appoint, which she said yes. Then I told her that I would like to show her a picture of my dress so she could see it and maybe make flowers that were similar to my dress. My sister and I both are looking on our phones, showing the woman a picture, to which she TOTAL IGNORES. SHE REFUSED TO LOOK AT US, ACKNOLEDGE THAT WE WERE TALKING TO HER, JUST kept rushing through her SLOOPY job of a pedicure. Then when I looked at my sister and said under my breath, "never mind, she is just going to ignore us" the woman looks up at me and ask what my problem is? Why am I so mad? I could not believe it. She obviously could hear us, because when we were not talking to her she answered, but when we were she ignored us. By the way, the "art" was what I could have done. She was not an artist at all. I was so embarrassed by the terrible job, I ended up taking the paint off that they had put on and was able to do a better job myself. When I expressed my concern about the technicians service to the manager or who I thought was in charge, she defend the woman's actions as if it is ok to IGNORE your customers requests and try to overcharge them for services. I never got my nails painted for my graduation and it is all because this place wasted my time and took THIRTY dollars for a service that was not worth $10. I wanted to get acrylics done with Cindy but when I called she said she was busy and assured me that someone is going to take care of me and do a good job, the lady that did my nails left me with bleeding cuts and acrylic stains all over my hands and acrylic underneath my nails . . I just got a pedicure done. It was fine. It was my first time there and I don't feel the need to go back unless they have really special promotion. The owner was friendly to greet every customer. I don't know if it is necessary to make an appointment but I did anyway. I called ahead before my appointment to let them know I was running late. I was 7 mins late so I did not complain when I was finally seated almost 20mins later. Initially I was going to have the mani-pedi and they said okay. When my pedi was about done, the owner came to me and let me know that I have to wait even more for the other person to finish. I politely told her I couldn't wait anymore so I would just do the pedi. (At this time, they still have 3 stars). Maybe it was too much to handle about my leaving (!? money flying away). She then pull the "we had 2 ppl waiting for you but you were late so...." (Yes, this is a demonstration of what not to say to piss your new customer off). When I paid, the beautician came to handle the transaction. She was very clear to make sure if I had enough CASH for her tips couple times within 2 mins. When I asked if I could have some change ($10) for tips, she gave me $5 dollar back. (@-@...why bother pretend it supposed to be "gratitude"--just give me MY money!-- No, she didn't say this but her behavior did) I understand that it is expected to tip but I really don't like this "I deserve it anyway" attitude everywhere when almost most of these services are really less than mediocre!! read more

They're a bit pricy but totally worth it. I stumbled on Nail Elegance a few weeks ago on Yelp. I was going to be in the area, so I figured I'd try a nail salon outside the LAX/South Bay area. The salon is very cute and chic. The owner was very friendly, as she twirled around from chair to chair like Cinderella, checking on everyone and offering drinks. I went in for a spa manicure/pedicure and gel on my fingernails. The chairs are very comfy and the staff is friendly. The bathroom was also clean, which is a major plus for me. My feet were left soft and moisturized. The gel on my fingernails was clean, even and my nails were properly filed down. The owner was one of my favorite people in this place. She was calling everyone by their first name, which is funny because I told her my name once and she remembered it. Sucks that I live a good 25mi. away or Nail Elegance would probably become part of my life. read more

Was not impressed at all with this salon. I was trying to find something on the spot, quickly by my house. It's very convenient because it's so close but definitely not quality. If you are desperate and need something then this place is decent but I would not come here if I have somewhere really nice to go and want nice nails. This is something a third grader could do. She was really quick not careful it was very messy even their quick dry spray and quick dry topcoat is not quick dry. I waited a while before leaving she told me it was dry and I ended up scuffing one nail in the car. Also I hate sales people that question me on the services I came in for. I have had expensive to cheap mani/pedis but Nail Elegance is by far the best. Steve does my nails flawlessly and meticulously. He has even given me great tips on how to keep my nails and cuticles healthy. Tammy is the queen of pedicures. Not only does she do a beautiful job on my toe nails, she gives me such a great foot massage that sometimes I've been known to just space out due to sheer relaxation. Luv this salon. The owner Cindy runs a very nice and clean nail salon. We've been too many in Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks and none compare to Nail elegance. We pay a little more and have a much longer drive but it is worth it for us. The quality and care is unsurpassed. My bf comes with me and gets a massage and men's manicure and pedicure. I get the Sns nail powder on my hands and gel on my toes. Love the sns product. My nails have become so healthy and strong. Cindy does my hands and whoever is available for my pedicure. Decided to try this place after calling my regular place and they were too busy to take me. I found them on Yelp and they were close enough to my place so I took a chance and walked in. It's Sunday and they were packed! They told me to return in one hour, took my name and I left. I returned for a gel pedicure, and acrylic and gel manicure with a holiday design on one nail per hand. Don started my nails and he was VERY slow, at one point Cindy jumped in and took over! I think Don got the acrylic on OK, but I had to direct him through the process pointing out several areas that he needed to add more acrylic. It was not a relaxing experience because I had to watch everything he was doing. My suggestion to this business...when you have a new client, make sure you give them someone really good so they have a great first experience. That's how you hook them as a client. After 1 1/2 hours my nails only had the acrylic on and and had been filed. I told Cindy that I would not want my pedicure anymore because this took too long. She insisted that I stay and moved me to the pedicure chair and said that I would get my nails gelled while they did the pedicure and that I would be done in 1/2 an hour more. It took another hour, Don did my pedicure and Tammy took over the gel on the nails. She was carrying on lots of conversations and kept stopping after each nail and talking. At this point I was so frustrated with the process that I actually kind of shook my hand to get her attention so she would know I needed her to pay attention and to get on with the treatment! The final outcome is that I got a nice job on the nails and pedicure, but it took 2 1/2 hours and a lot of direction and input from me! I am not used to this and I don't think it was just going on with me. They seemed to be juggling everyone and there seemed to be a lot of frustrated people. When I get my nails done, I want to just sit back relax and walk away in an hour with a great job! Soooo, I walk to the front to pay and my bill is 93.00!!!! 57 for my nails and 36 for my pedicure....shame on you!!! You got me today, but you will never get me back : ( I am not happy! read more

This is BY FAR AND AWAY the best place you can go for a Brazilian Wax. A group of friends, myself included, have been going to Cindy for just about 10 years now. Cindy is the only person who has ever waxed any of us as practically painlessly, meticulously and comfortably as possible. I live in the South Bay, and have had to resign myself to a quick wax over at Luxury Nails (Lily) for the majority of the last five years, but if I am traveling through, I will make sure to stop and see Cindy. Her waxes last longer at least by 1/2 as my usual 4 weeks because Cindy is so meticulous (6 + weeks). Yes the tweezers can be painful, but you will appreciate the effort in 5 weeks when you are still bare. She also doesn't DOUBLE DIP and uses a clean depresser. Lastly, they have a couple different waxes and Cindy says it depends on the client and the weather. When it is cold and skin tends to be dryer, she will use a gentler wax on you. I used to go to Pink Cheeks down the street in SO, before anyone knew what a Brazilian or Playboy wax was. Cindy at Pink Cheeks was the only one who knew about it. It was painful, the wait took forever, and I just wasn't into it. Althoug that is for a different review. The only reason this is not getting 5 stars is because the last few times we have gone in ,the consensus has been that Cindy isn't there that often any longer, and we were pawned off on another girl, who was very thorough and the waxing still lasted, but she was PAINFUL. SUPER PAINFUL. And slow. So, if you go, DEMAND Cindy or leave if she isn't there. $45 read more
