I walked into Nail Envy for a pedicure and had a pleasant experience. I came here years ago and received the worst manicure so I was hesitant but am glad I stopped by. The salon has comfortable massage chairs and the water temperature was just right. Tom was gentle and took his time. I thoroughly enjoyed the leg/foot massage. I did not pick any of the specialty services so my bill was $30 plus tip. I will be definitely be going back. read more

I really hate to leave one star but after my experience tonight I feel that it's necessary. This used to be my go to nail salon but not anymore. I'll go elsewhere like I did tonight. I walked in before 6 (they close at 7) and there were two people waiting and one person in pedicure chairs. I signed in and sat down. After sitting and waiting the owner came up to me and said do you have an appointment. I responded no. She stated sorry we can't take you then. We are booked with appointments. My issue here is I'm a regular customer who waited to sign in... signed in and then sat down to wait. It wasn't appropriate to let a customer wait then tell them they wouldn't be able to be seen. I won't be returning nor will I refer anyone else. read more

Recently changed management and now called Famous Nails, this is my go-to nail spot in Bel Air. I love the friendly atmosphere and GREAT service! Wonderful pedicures and manicures, specifically full set acrylics and fill-ins. I broke one of my acrylic nails after having them done here (slammed my finger in a door), I went back and they fixed it for free! Prices are very reasonable. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is because the wait time tends to be longer than average, however the wait is always worth it! I love this place and definitely recommend it to anyone. read more

This location has changed management recently which is the only explanation I can think of as to why it would have a high Yelp rating. I tried Nail Envy after a friend's recommendation, and left extremely disappointed. I called ahead and made an appointment with my daughter and friend. We got there at our scheduled time, and I was a little put off by the broken sign out front. Inside was clean but barren with very little decor, no TVs or anything, and dated looking equipment. They took us back to the pedicure chairs soon after we walked in. They started on my friend and daughter right away, and I waited for someone to come since they didn't seem busy and no one told me there would be a wait. While I waited, I noticed the massage chair wasn't working. I pushed every button and turned it off and on again several times. The lady helping my friend acted surprised and pushed a button and walked away but it still didn't work. 40 minutes later, my daughter and friend were done and they still hadn't gotten to me. When someone finally came I asked to sit in a different chair since the one I was in didn't work. They acted like I was being unreasonable and kind of huffed about it, but then admitted that they knew the chair didn't work once they got me situated in another chair. The girl working on me seemed to be new and was kind of just going through the motions of prepping the nails for paint, barely doing much of anything. She then skipped the base coat and started with color which I thought was very weird. While I was being done, they sat someone else in the broken chair and didn't say anything again - pushed the button and acted like it worked. The lady didn't seem to mind or was too nice to say anything. I got the spa pedicure but the scrub and massage were super short and not relaxing, so it was not worth the money at all. I went to check out and the total was a lot more than I expected. The place I usually go will charge $15 for my 5 year old daughter to have her nails painted - this place charged $30. Apparently they had done the spa pedicure on her without even asking me. My friend had a "repeat customer" card that she wanted punched and they refused, saying they were under new management. As I suspected, my polish came off quickly bc of the lack of base coat (and I had to ask specifically for a top coat or they would have skipped that too). So it was quite an expensive waste of time. Obviously I will not be going back to this salon! Ridiculous. read more

Love this place. I have been going to Christy for 2 or 3 years now. She does a great job. The salon is very clean and the nail techs are all very efficient. I get gel nails and a pedicure - always well done. They also will create nail designs based on pinterest or other pictures. The nail techs are very talented. read more

This place was okay. I was in a bind and they fit me in in the middle of the day during the week. The aunt (didn't catch her name) was nice but she rushed - not worked quickly - rushed. Kimmie, who I believe is the shop owner, had an attitude, was on her phone the ENTIRE time she was working on client's nails, and the final straw was when the phone rang she said, "I just want to smash this phone." (It was ringing a lot that day but why complain about a lot of business?) The place looked okay at first glance, but after sitting there a while, I noticed it needed a good dusting and floor scrubbing. One of the girls was giving a pedicure and I saw her grab a spray bottle and quickly spray something on the floor, which I can only imagine to have been a bug. BEAUTY SCHOOL QUALITY AT SALON PRICES- I went in because of the window advertisement offered student discounts that I don't think I received, judging by the high price that I paid. I got unevenly shaped nails with visible tiny bubbles in some of the acrylic. All of my nails have a gap between the fake nail and my real nail, except for the nails that they used too much glue and it oozed out from under the fake nails. They actively use the autoclave machine to sanitize their nail clippers but all of the paint brushes that were on the counter had visible remnants of their last job on them. The guy who did my nails did not file my natural nails or remove the dirt from under them before he applied the fake nails. Also, this shop seems to have one translator and four employees, all of which can be seen eating on the sales floor. The good news is that you don't need an appointment and it is unlikely that you will have a long wait time if you decide to walk in. The bad news is that you will have to reshape your nails and remove some dead skin from your nails to finish your manicure. read more

Well, on Yelp, the price for a mani/pedi was listed as $35, but I was charged $40. Mind you, I had just a plain old manicure (no gel, just clear polish) and a basic pedicure. My nail technician (don't know her name) was just okay. She spilled a few drops of oil from her hand manicure kit on my pants, and when I pointed it out to her, she seemed not the least bit concerned or apologetic. She assured me it would come out in the wash, but left me with a big stain on my pants for the rest of the day! On the positive side, I did not have to wait at all for my appointment...but the place was pretty much deserted the whole time I was there, so that probably isn't a good sign. While this experience wasn't terrible, I would not return, as I feel I was overcharged for the service I received, and there are plenty of other nail salons to try in the area. read more

got a manicure and pedicure on Wednesday, today is Saturday...2 nail had to be superglued because the gel overlay lifted....going to now have to put tips on for my wedding tomorrow..got a brow wax and had to come home and pull a few that were just 'missed'. very expensive for the quality...gave a horrible big toe design for 15??? never again... read more
