They Dunked my hands straight into a bucket of acetone, ruining my rings, wrecked my cuticles, then a sloppy mediocre manicure. I received a gel acrylic French tip pedicure from a very nice lady who took her time to make sure my toes were perfect. She did amazing with my requests and the service was amazing! I also brought in my little sister for a soak off, she needed her nails off for an emergency and we couldn't get her in with her usual nail technician. The woman who did her soak off immediately tried to pop off her nails with another tip (immediate shop red flag!). She was digging so hard that my sisters nail beds were left red on her pinky. She digged into her nails and also when requested that she didn't use tips instead turned the drill on high and began drilling her nails until they burned. As you can see there are rings of fire and left over acrylic still. I called the shop to let them know about the incident and was just told that "that's how certain nail technicians do soak offs". I have received soak offs by them before and never had a technician pop my nails off! I assume the technician took advantage of her because she's a teenager. I have periodically gotten my nails done by them since their opening around 2021. I don't get my nails done often but when I do I try to get them done here, a few pedicures and soak offs. This experience did make me not want to return though. I also had a time where the technician gave me regular polish instead of gel (I paid for gel) and when I returned a couple days later because of chipping, they tried to tell me it was my fault and that they did give me gel, only to be proven wrong when wiping with acetone (the white nail polish removed). Could be an amazing location if they listened to the constructive criticism in these reviews and feedback from customers! Overall 6/10. read more

I was really excited to give this place a try. It looked nice, clean and got overall good reviews. I thought the poor reviews were just a one-off and not the norm. Unfortunately, I left disappointed and unsure if I'll return. The pedicure was ok. Seemed like it went by rather quickly. Temperature of everything was a little hot for me (water, hot stones, towel), but I was rather distracted watching the girl (I believe Thuy) do my builder gel nails that I didn't bother to say anything half the time so that's on me. I brought my brother with me and he got a pedicure as well. They didn't even ask him if he wanted polish..I think that was rude to assume he didn't want any. Another man was in there getting a service so I don't think it's right to assume that he didn't want polish just because he's a guy. They could have at least done a clear coat. They just walk away without saying anything when they're done and start working on someone else so we felt awkward even asking as we weren't even sure whose attention we could get. Also, would have been nice if they offered the complimentary drink. They just sat us down and rushed us. I'm not even sure where I would put a drink on the pedicure bench anyways, but I would've appreciated the drink. And, as others have stated, they do your hands at the same time as your feet. I didn't mind initially, as my brother who came with me was only getting a pedi and I felt bad making him wait around for me to get my nails done as well. But, I agree with other reviewers in that it's definitely not relaxing to get both done at the same time. It's also not comfortable and I don't think they do as good a job on your fingernails versus sitting at a flat surface facing them. I asked for almond shaped nails and got rounded at best. They're all crooked and the lengths are uneven. She seemed very annoyed when I asked her to reshape or shorten a few of them..or even just looked at them (as I'm sure she knew I was not satisfied). That made me uncomfortable to ask her to fix anything, as I'm already a shy, introverted person and found it difficult to speak up in the first place. I had hoped she'd fix the shape in the next few rounds of filing, but that never happened. The gel polish was not applied well (messy and uneven) and my nails look grown out because the polish was not applied all the way to the cuticle. She asked if I wanted one or two coats of the glitter polish. I said two, then she started to apply top coat after the first coat. I told her I wanted the second coat and you could hardly see the glitter with just one coat. She scoffed and said it would be too sticky with two coats. Even with the two coats, it still didn't look like the sample nail color but I wasn't going to try to ask for a third coat with that attitude. Note: she was also very quiet and difficult to hear. Again, when she was done, she just walked away. We weren't sure what to do..just walk up to the front on our own?? Most places will ask you if you like it and walk you up to the front when they're done..not here. I think if they communicated more and asked how the customer liked the work, then it would make for a much more pleasant and satisfying experience for everyone. read more

I made an appt here and asked for Lily since I had a friend who recommended her. I arrived at 9am on a Friday and parked right in front. I was told to pick anywhere to sit (they were just opening so there was no one in there quite yet). I ended up getting the Renew pedi with the paraffin wax and hot stones...it was amazing and so relaxing! Lily didn't rush at all and took her time, making sure my pedicure look perfect. After the pedicure I moved over to the manicure seat and she did my gel manicure. It also turned out perfect. They used CND polish which technically have matching regular polish and gel. I picked Ferrari red and while it looks like that color with the regular polish on my toes, the gel looks fairly orange. Just something to keep in mind when picking colors in the future. The place is very clean and they use bags for the pedicure tubs which I appreciate for cleanliness. The prices are great for the service they provide! I ended up making another appointment while I was still there for a few weeks away! I think this is my new spot! read more

Every time I want a manicure pedicure I go here. It is always extremely clean, fast and well done. Everyone who works there has exceptional customer service and is very kind and ensures that when they do your manicure or pedicure you like it, that it is done to best of their ability, etc. I got a bright pink today and they did one coat on my pinky and made sure I liked it before continuing which I think is great. They often hand out drinks and alcoholic beverages if you are over 21. Also, mani pedi today (I got the simplest one) only took about 40 mins!!!! For both!! That's insane, great people hard workers, and ensure that your time there is relaxing. (Also every time I get gel pedicure it literally lasts like 5 months for me it does not budge! Such a great place and fun environment. They always greet you with a smile and a well liquored drink in one hand. They are constantly busy. I do recommend calling and setting up an appointment. I always leave with a stomach pains from laughing, a big smile on my face and warm body from the tequila. This has become one of my regular spots. They already know what I want before I'm seated. Service is always on point. Came in for a pedi and a manicure. If you're trying to relax, I do recommend doing the pedi or a manicure during a different visit or you have two ppl working on you. Nail laundry used to be my go to. A lot of the OG manicurists have left. The girls now are relatively new but no where as good. Cuticle trimming and polish application is sloppy. Polish application is patchy. I have gone back a couple of times despite this because I thought maybe they were having a bad day. Now they are just consistently not meeting standards. Pro #1: My friend got dip powder done here weeks ago and her nails still look fresh out the salon. No lifting at all! Pro #2: This is one of the few nail salons that are open on Mondays so I was able to do a walk-in for gel removal (always best to call and schedule an appointment though). I seated immediately upon arrival. We soaked it for a while but realized that the last shop I went to did not properly remove the layer of gel-x from my nails before applying the regular gel on top. My nails are super damaged and brittle at this point from my past few sets (not done here) but my nail tech here did her best to gently buff it out without further damaging my nail bed. I noticed the manager or owner was very attentive to everything going on in the shop and making sure all of her clients were happy with the service they were receiving. She did her rounds to make sure everyone was comfortable and ready to make adjustments if needed. Overall, I felt really comfortable with the staff and the salon itself. Interior was so clean and well-maintained + great choice of decor and comfortable seats. I'm just letting my nails recover for now but excited to come back with my friend once I'm ready! read more

Just moved to the area. I'm a new mom so my husband treated me to a mani/pedi and a little break from baby. The place is beautiful inside. Everyone was super welcoming and nice. I had called for an appointment earlier that day and was easily able to get an appointment. When I arrived, I was seated very fast. My pedicure was very relaxing. A tech did my manicure at the same time as my pedicure. I wish they didn't because it doesn't allow me to fully relax. Also, I feel like the attention to detail wasn't the best on the manicure because of this. I will go back and try again! This is the best place for a dip manicure. I highly recommend Lily. The interior is relaxing and comfortable. I noticed some bad reviews were because the reviewers stated they did not like having the manicures and pedicures together. I have heard on multiple occasions the nail tech ask the customer if they wanted to have them done at the same time or separate. WHY WE WENT HERE: - had a friend visiting for the weekend, so we decided to try a new (bougie looking) nail salon together THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in a triangle-shaped plaza off Watt Ave, Fair Oaks Blvd, and San Lucas Way - very low-key plaza, with some parking out front THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - modern and clean (bright, white, gray/beige luxurious seating that aren't your typical massage chairs, extra large pedicure tubs with gold fixtures) - the window at the rear end of the establishment has the view of a tree that was blossoming, so it was picturesque - there's a semi private pedicure room to the left of the cashier/front station - the main pedicure stations are on both sides of the wall on the right hand side of the establishment (left wall are more for individuals/privacy vs. right wall it's one long booth seating) - liked how the patrons were all socially distanced (vs. every single station filled) THE MENU OF SERVICE: - pedicure - manicure - add on - mini me WHAT WE ORDERED: - my friend got the refresh pedicure + refresh manicure - I got the renew pedicure CUSTOMER SERVICE: - our appointment was 1st thing in the morning (right when they opened); we noticed that we weren't asked to wash our hands, but all subsequent clients were instructed to wash their hands at the sink in the back prior to taking their place at their assigned pedicure stations - when instructed to take our place at our assigned stations, my friend and I were instructed to go to the individual chairs (that made it hard to talk to one another) vs the booth seating - we also felt awkward sitting at our stations because our nail techs were still getting it together; we already had our sandals off and awkwardly placing our feet because the tub liners were not set up yet nor was the water running to start soaking into - our nail techs were really nice, but we also noticed that our appointments were kept under an hour for them to service the next customers (definitely used to it being over an hour, even for basic gel pedicure packages elsewhere) - for my friend, she didn't like how she had her manicure and pedicure done simultaneously because it didn't really allow her to fully relax into her massage chair - it was also interesting to note that there was no complimentary drink situation (considering how modern and nice the interior is) even if it was just to offer bottled water, etc. read more

I'm sad to be writing this review because I usually love Nail Laundry but since the last time I went 2 weeks ago my nails are absolutely destroyed. The man doing my nails used a gel removing polish, rather than soaking the gel off. The polish made my nails crack in half and bend. When I verbalized my nails were too thin for that kind of removal, he continued to use it on all my fingers, then charge me $10 extra for a gel builder which I've never had to get before. 2 weeks out and my nails are in terrible shape and tissue paper thin and cracked. I will be back to see someone else in the future because I know their nail techs do great work but i am disappointed with this. read more

I'm back. Hopefully with an ending to my woes of finding a nail salon in Sacramento that I can call my "place" --that I commit to for years to come. I saw a segment on Good Day that showcased the opening of this new salon in the Arden Arcade area (they are at Watt and Fair Oaks). It looked great and the attitude of the owners (a group of 4 friends) seemed promising. I made an appointment a day later and voila! I arrived to a very friendly greeting by Lynn, one of the owners of Nail Laundry. I was sat in a comfortable seat and asked to wait while they set everything up. They were very communicative and apologized for any delays that came up as they were still trying to get everything in order and hiring to fully staff. I appreciated how open they were and I wasn't sitting being ignored like at other salons. Things that make Nail Laundry a fabulous place to try out: 1) They are immaculate. I know I know, they just opened but the fact that they use disposable liners in the spa bowls for the pedicure means they don't ever forget to wash from client to client. They also provide single use pumice, buffers, and files for each new client. Meaning, after you're done with your service they ask if you want to take your items home or have them dispose of them. I happily took mine, as I like to use them for maintenance in between appointments. 2) They are very friendly and really work to create a friendship with their regulars. In the span of my pedicure, I saw 3 clients of theirs from their sister salon in Elk Grove come to congratulate them on their new space, provide gifts and stay for appointments. It says a lot to me about their customer service and relationships when you have clientele traveling 25+ minutes outside of their normal routine on a Sunday to support this salon. 3) Their willingness to deal with me. Hahaha. Lynn wasn't phased when I told her I was a very particular client (*cringes* at self). I told her I liked my nails shaped and filed a certain way and was specific on how I wanted my polish to be done. In fact, she looked at me and said that she was glad that I was honest with her and for me to continue to do so during my appointment and to make sure I let her know if I felt something wasn't right. 4) Their prices are competitive for the quality of service and products they provide. Needless to say, by the end of my pedicure appointment, I had made my next for a gel manicure the following week. So go support this new business run by smart and hard working women. FYI--if you're in a hurry and want a 30 min in and out service, let them know in ADVANCE. This place is more of a spa experience and they encourage you to relax and enjoy the service. I usually do not post, or take the time to post. Let me start off by saying I am a women of color, a mom, and an educated women (Masters Degree). I called earlier in the day, to make an appointment. I came in for my appointment. I was sat down at the pedicure chair. I was informed not to pick a color but over there in the chair I can pick up the painted nails and choose my color. 5 minutes after my appointment (it was not very busy) I am sitting there with no water just a blue bag In the pedicure bowl. Suddenly a regular customer comes in and meets her mom who is already getting her nails done. Several workers swarm to help both of them and continue to chat and laugh. 15 minutes later, with my feet in the pedicure bowl, the owner or manager puts the water on and then puts the powder in the water with my feet in there. The water was hot, and I told her and she said oh sorry. She left the water running, and left! At this point, I am thinking is the water going to spill over ? Finally someone comes over and turns the water off. The pedicure was ok, they had a cheap box of spa products. I looked it up online $5.99 on Amazon. Why am I writing this ? Being a women of color, this is not the first time I have experienced this lack of customer service. The service: It was ok. The atmosphere: It was pretty hot in there. The lights were a bit much and the seats do not go back. The products: Not good, cheap, even the stones they looked faked. Lastly, the pedicure seemed rushed. read more

Not a very good job. One nail is slightly crooked. A few were not evenly filed. (Ex: one side of nail rounded corner and one has a more angled corner.) And my real nails are not perfectly shaped. They have small dips in the nail, especially my thumbs. There was ZERO worked on the length of my actual nail. They were left really long. and this created a huge gap between the fake nail and my real nail. And it was of no concern I guess‍‍. (See pics) I don't get my nail done. So I didn't know what to expect. But I assumed the professionals would inspect their work and do good work-without me having to instruct them. 73$ dollars for an average pedicure and a new set of mediocre acrylics. Yea. This place is gorgeous first off, then I was pleasantly surprised to find out that all their chairs have the massage feature, but that was just the start. Their pedicures include lemon in the water which is a nice touch, a scrub, & a stone massage which I LOVE. My girlfriend & I got complimentary wine, offered if you're of age. I used to only come in for pedicures, but I recently got my first full set of acrylics done here. Kevin did my nails, and he was so polite and incredibly talented.
