I been coming here for years and today will be the last. I have watched their service decline over the years,but Today is definitely my last. I had my gel nails done on Sat after waiting over an hour and half. They chipped on Sunday so I returned today to have them repaired. Well she told me that it was my fault that my nails chipped. My sisters and I have frequented this establishment for years, but today I've decided to not go back. I've always had good experience at Nail Luxe, but today's experience was terrible. First the debit/charge machine was not working correctly, which things do happen, so I went to bank and withdrew funds. On return, I sent my niece in to pay both our bills, and waited a solid 20 mins to pay. Clearly, the staff knew she was present, and wanted to pay, but being busy with other clients they ignored her. Only after I went in did not one, but two techs acknowledge me immediately so I could pay. No apology for inconvenience either. So off to Clayton Nails I go, and I do tip generously so I'll gladly pay extra to be treated respectfully. Lastly, I take leaving negative comments very seriously, as I do not want to hurt another's reputation, but I feel this review was justly warranted. read more

Darn it! Nothing worse than a major change in service level in between just a couple of recent visits. When the new owners recently renovated and upgraded this former struggling salon, I had high hopes. The prices are phenomenal and the location is convenient. My first experience here was 5-star all the way. Immediate service, friendly nail tech, and one of the best and longest foot and leg massages I have ever had with a pedicure, including high end spa experiences. Really, ever. It was amazing. Even for just the basic pedi, not one step was overlooked or shortened, from soaking, trimming, filing, pumice, exfoliating, scrubbing, and massage with a nicely scented oil. No skimping on the painting either, with a bottom coat, 2-3 coats of colored polish, and a top coat. I have been to many a discount pedi places where one or many of these steps are skipped or poorly done, but I accept that for the low price, as long as it looks decent. Cut to my latest experience, about 6 weeks later. I arrived late afternoon during the week, and it was busy but not packed. I selected a color for my nails and a couple of magazines. I was prepared to sit in the waiting area, but they directed me to the pedi chairs. I was excited that I wasn't going to have to wait as long as I thought. Wrong! I was soaking in the tub for about 45 minutes. I really would have preferred to have been able to move around if wanted during this time- I didn't have easy access to my purse or phone- and the water got cold after about 20 minutes. Someone came around about 30 minutes in and said she would be right back, but it was another 15 minutes. The chair massage function was also not working on this chair, so I didn't have that option during the wait. Once she sat down, she got up and physically left me about 4-5 times. A couple of times to answer the phone, a couple of times to tend to her young daughter that was there, and more. Really frustrating after waiting so long and so wanting a relaxing experience. The foot pads that you rest your feet on for service were loose as well, so my feet never really felt stable. The massage was just okay, the rest of the service- scrubbing, trimming, painting, etc., was good. I will go back for another try since it is still a great price and location, and hopefully the service level will strike the right balance as they move forward. read more

Worst pedi I ever had. That's hard to do. She clipped my toenails down to the quick and was digging/clipping in the sides like I had ingrown toenails, which I don't. Then she was using the tool to scrape under my no longer existing nail and was digging into my skin. I almost left after that. Of course there was the language barrier and the better English speaking lady didn't seem to care or intervene. Will NEVER go back. Sub standard to say the least. read more

I used to love this place, but after today's experience I doubt I will be back. It was a Friday, so I figured they would be busy, so I made a quick call to see if they were. I was told that they were not busy at all and to come in. I arrived 10 minutes later and waited over an hour before I got in a chair to get an acrylic fill. I had numerous people that came in get taken care of before me, that had signed in after I had. Come to find out they only had one nail technician that can do anything with nail enhancements. I have only gotten pedicures before and they were decent, but after today I will find another salon with more nail savvy technicians that can work with acrylic and gel nails. read more

I always see one star reviews where people say they wish they could give no stars and I think they're being dramatic. I know how they feel now. I went in here to get a mani. I bite my nails so I try to get manis when I can so that I won't bite. I sat down for a gel mani, it was me and two other women in the salon. The lady put my hands in the water then looked at them and said she couldn't give me a manicure because I bite my nails. It was the most mortifying thing I have ever experienced. I called after I left to talk to someone in charge. The lady I spoke to (not my manicurist) asked me to come back and she would do it which I did think was nice but I will never set foot in there again after such a horrible experience. I've tried to give this place a chance numerous times. About 10 to be exact. but the last 2 times I sat for 25 min with my feet in the water before someone started working on me. The water was ice cold & they rushed to hurry to the next person. When you walk in they put you in a chair right away, but then really there is no one free to work on you. I was very disappointed with this place, and that disappointment soon turned into anger. Went there with a friend for a pedicure and the place was dead. We were led to two chairs by a gentleman who filled them up with freezing cold water and walked away. 30 minutes later he came back (but no one ever came for my friend) and we had to start over. This took so long that my friend had to leave with no service at all (while other employees just sat around and talked to each other). When leaving, I tried to pay with a gift certificate...the ONLY reason I chose this place to begin with...and I was told that it was expired. When I showed the manger or owner that there was no expiration date on the gift certificate, she still insisted that it was expired and they wouldn't honor it. I tried to reason with her and ask if she would please just honor the gift certificate and she yelled at me and screamed NO. So not only did the service suck and my friend never got her pedi, but then I was denied my gift certificate and had to pay for this crap. I will never be back to this salon. read more

I absolutely love this place. Ive lived down the street for years and randomly went in on a hum bug. I was seen right away and the the womans name was Wendy who took great care of me. A few weeks later i went back because i was getting married and brought my whoIe wedding party including some extras. They were very proficent and everything we got done was flawless. They definitely have long time clients in the years to come. When you go ask for Wendy she is very sociable and fun! She listens when u tell her what you want and delievers perfection everytime. They did my feet pretty quick and when she was finished she said she had an appointment she would be 10 minutes and do my nails I waited much more than 10 minutes and I decided I didn't like my nail polish I wanted to change it she was rude and very loud in front of the whole salon saying I should have told her before and she doesn't work for free. Obviously paying is not an issue I would expect a charge but whatever. I asked her to remove my nail because it was cracked and I knew it would break of course she argued me down and made a lame excuse but I had her do it anyway. Not recommended, at least not the person I got. I was just having my nails dipped and she convinced me for another $5.00 to clean up my cuticles. I agreed, and then she cut me on three of my fingers. Have been going here for years with my grandmother. They were too lazy to put a tip on my grandmother's nail, caused it to eat away her actual nail and now her nail is coming off. My nails continuously come off shortly after getting acrylics there, and I got a second opinion, and discovered they were ignoring the fact that fungus was starting to grow under there. And another time I took my niece, she is 8 years old, and they told her she could not sit in the kids princess chairs because she was too tall. Which was not true, she was too short for the adult chairs but they did it anyways and she was so dissapointed. I have asked questions and tried pointing out flaws in my nails, and got nothing but attitude saying "just let me do my job". They're generally just very rude. Never going back. read more

This place refused to serve me. The owner said that it was because I ahd asked to speak with the manager the last time I was there. I did ask to speak with the manager on my previous visit. However I was told she was not there and given a business card with intructions to call back another day. I took the business card and departed, but when I got home I decided not to call. When I wnet back for fills two weeks lated they refused to serve me because they said I complained which I did not, but I should have considering the way that I was trated upon my return. I felt as tough it could have been racial. So if you are African-American beware, you may not be welcome. read more

The nail salon is clean,I appreciate the fact that they put plastic liners in the pedicure bowl (hey it may not do anything but it does help with making me feel a little protected from who knows what) the nail tech was extremely gentle (sorry didn't get her name) she kept saying to let her know if she hurt me. The gel polish is plentiful so much so that I just had to pick a color as she was done doing my overlay and she needed to move on. I picked a black sparkly glitter color it's pretty but now that I have it on I think it's more of a special occasion color. This is my second time coming here as a walk in and both times I was taken pretty much right away. They have two pedicure chairs for the little ladies that makes it easier for them to get a pedicure like mom or grandma as they don't have to stretch their little legs the way they would in the adult size pedicure chairs. The price point can go up tremendously if you are not careful as it did for me the first time I walked in and had my granddaughter serviced with a pedicure as well. Overall it's not a bad experience I enjoy that they took their time with my pedicure by letting me soak in the bowl something I like to do as it feels sooo read more

Just don't go here. I visited this place to get my nails SLIGHTLY trimmed in order to get the square shape and painted. However, apparently this was understood as "please, cut my nails as short as you can". I have been growing my nails for months and I thought for Christmas I would have them look nice, but that didn't happen. I am REALLY REALLY unhappy that all the length of my nails are gone. Plus, my cuticles were ignored after I explicitly asked for them to be cut. This was a total waste of money. This was by far the worst experience I've had at a nail salon. read more

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!! My mother and I were in town for a week and decided to get our nails done. We came in for pedicures and full sets. First the pedicure bowls were not properly sanitized. Jenny did my mothers pedicure while I sat and waited (there were employees not doing anything) Jenny proceeded to do my mothers pedicure she grabbed the cuticle oil and the lid wasn't shut they oil went all over my mothers pants that are beige.. Jenny acted like nothing happened but we all know oil doesn't come out of clothing. She was very rude did not apologize or anything. An older lady finally came and started my pedicure but at this point I was hesitant to get one because they are so unsanitary. The metal graters can not properly be cleaned and are against state board laws, the buffers can not be properly cleaned and they don't disinfect any tools or the foot tubs. They don't even massage during a pedicure either. If I could give it no stars I would have they don't deserve even one star... read more

Worst place ever! I wanted to cry when I left there. I have going there for 4 years now. My 3 year old and I walked in to get a fun pedi (they have kid chairs). I told the lady we both wanted it. There were 2 people in the place. She said have a seat. I told her we both wanted them again. She said I don't have time to do hers. She can sit on your lap. My daughters heart was broken. It was not crowded. So she had time. So we left. If you don't want kids there take the chairs out. I will not be going there anymore read more

Usually pretty happy with Nail Luxe but the past few months have been bad. They speed through your pedicure to get more people in. I typically go every 1-2 weeks because it should be relaxing and this time my massage was about 1 minute total for both legs and feet. I walked in, got my pedicure, paid, and walked out all in about 15-20 minutes. Waste of money and I will be finding a new place after 2 years of going here. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Back in February I went in for a GEL manicure. I trusted them as I had gone a few times before. She was doing the same thing as usual, I always watch and this time decided to check out the tv. I turn back and she is gluing acrylics to my nails. I did not want to make a scene as I am not a confrontational person, so I held back and moved on. Swore I would never go back. Went to a different salon my last two times and they treated me awfully so decided to go back today with my aunt who had a certificate. Everything was going well, got my pedi and gel mani. Went to pay and their card system was not working. completely understandable with the flooding and rain and how it could effect that. They got attitude with us for not having cash on hand. We are trustworthy and have been times before so we said we'll be right back with cash, going to the bank 1 minute up the road. We got our cash and headed back immediately. We were back within a matter of 5 minutes. My aunt remains in the car as we figure it will be a quick run in, pay, and out. I walk in, wait at the front desk waiting to pay. They are busy with customers so I give them a minute as I understand they have to finish others services as well. Well, they're getting up and walking around before finishing the clients nails and doing other things. I figure if they're walking around chatting amongst one another they can run up very quickly and take my cash and gave me change. It will take them one minute maximum. At this point, I have made eye contact with all 3 employees at minimum 3 times each. Waving my hand to get their attention even more and they ignore me - very well know I am there as they have acknowledged me with eye contact more than once. 20 more minutes pass and at this point my aunt comes inside and immediately 2 of the 3 employees jump up and coming running to the front to take our payment. They came up because they could see her very clearly upset with this unnecessary 20 minute wait. No apology either and the attitude we received for something not our fault is completely disrespectful as we were very understanding of their card machine not working. They are also continuing to let others try their card knowing very well that the system is down due to the flooding and rain. I hate to leave a negative review and hurt someone's reputation but after two consecutive awful visits I will be taking my business to Clayton nails where I will gladly pay more to be treated respectfully. read more
