I've been going to this salon for around 3 years now and love it. Reasonably priced and you can get manicure/pedicure/waxing all in one sitting. Staff is always friendly and it is very sanitary. When I first moved to Atlanta I tried a few salons and either my polish chipped/bubbled up shortly after I left, or the place did not seem clean, etc. I've consistently gone to Nail Shadow from day one; back from when I had artificial nails to now when I prefer my natural ones and have never been disappointed. I guess Meh. I've experienced better would be exactly how I felt after I left. I didn't know if I should have been impressed that I got a gel mani, eyebrow wax (poor), and pedicure in less than 40 minutes or unimpressed. Seemed like the women who did my nails did not want to be there and could care less if I had a good experience or not. My nails were rushed and it shows. A customer was asking my manicurist questions about other services and the women acted annoyed that this customer would even ask. I did notice it was clean in there which was nice, but I'm just disappointed. I've been coming to Nail Shadow pretty consistently for about 2 years. They are always very friendly to walk-ins. I've never had to wait very long. The space is clean and the results always look great. I usually get a gel manicure + a standard pedicure. They also have pedicure massage chairs which is a huge plus. The only downside is that this place can get really busy, so sometimes the service can feel a bit rushed. Otherwise, it's my favorite Buckhead nail salon. read more

I have been going to Nail Shadow exclusively for about 3 yrs now. I love Tracy- she is super friendly is always very attentive. I really like Nail Shadow because the salon is very clean, while it isn't the "fanciest" salon... I am there to have my nails done properly so that they will last, not "see & be seen"! I have solar pink and white and my fill-ins last at least 3 weeks which is fantastic, there is never any lifting or chipping! In the summer I also have get pedicures which are equally great- the girls are always so sweet and helpful when I come in. I really liked this place. It was a bit pricy for a gel mani/pedi. After 4 days my gel polish did start to chip on 1 nail but it wasn't that bad. The hand massage was nice. I wish they would have done more "maintenance" on my pedicure since I haven't had one in over a year, they focused more on the nail area and not so much the bottom of my feet where I needed it most. TERRIBLE customer service. I literally got a babysitter so I could get a pedicure (my first in months because I have a young infant). Their signs etc say they close at 8, I walk in at 7:15 and they say they stop seeing people at 7. They were very rude about it too. They could have at least been polite. I am so disappointed! After becoming a bit disenchanted with my regular Buckhead nail salon, I decided to try something new. Based on the excellent reviews on Yelp, I selected Nail Shadow and went for a SNS mani and regular pedi. The pedicure was good, and the massage was great. BUT the manicure was terrible! She cut me twice with nippers, once so bad that I had to apply pressure to stop the bleeding! Now my SNS manicure looks fine on 80 percent of my nails. Too bad 20 percent of them have scabs on the cuticles! This was definitely an experiment I wish I had not undertaken! Not a fan! read more

I would not recommend Nail Shadow to a friend. Their services are always very rushed and never seem to turn out perfect. Attendants can be very rough with your hands and nails. Don't be fooled by the 8 PM closing time. They won't see anyone for any service (even for a polish change) after 7 PM. I highly recommend they change their advertised hours to closing at 7 PM, as you would never be turned away from service at a restaurant if you showed up just 10 minutes before closing time. read more

After reading all of the awesome reviews about this place, and needing a Fill in Manicure desperately, I tried Nail Shadow out but, am left wondering where people are coming from giving this place so many stars when my experience was not even close to what others have said. I was greeted with rudeness, proceeded to sit down, and spend the next 2 hrs getting a half hazard manicure that cost me $47 in the end. (Yes just a normal fill in manicure). I can't count the number of times that she burned, chipped, and even fully broke my nails, and the tips or, the number of times the owner came over to see what in the world was taking so long. I will never go back, and have never in my life had a Fill in or manicure take that long, the process typically takes 30-45 minutes anywhere else but, 2 hours with no wait in the beginning - come on!? read more

Nail Shadow uses the newest techniques and has the latest nail colors, it is very clean with a friendly atmosphere, CeCe is attentive and i enjoy talking with him while getting my nails done. They charged me $83 for a full set of acrylics and a pedicure! And it wasn't even a spa pedicure, they didn't tell me to go to the massage chairs. The girl asked me if I wanted my cuticles cleaned after she put the acrylic on! Duuuhhh! That's what she should've done first! They ripped me off and the acrylics were chipping off in a few day. I went on my lunch hour to get a full set. an hour an a half later I have the most horrible nails, got cut in three places as she drove the file into my skin and didn't even want to sit for polish. I really wanted to love Nail Shadow. It's a beautiful salon, with a calming atmosphere. I received a manicure and pedicure for $35. I hate having them done at the same time because it's difficult to relax. However my manicurist made sure not to have me sitting awkwardly which was a plus. The polish job could have been better. The 2nd coat wasn't applied to my entire fingernail, so I could see streaks down the sides of my nail bed. Regarding the pedicure, I noticed one of my toenails appeared to be crooked while I was drying. There was a section left unpolished. I told my tech, she apologized repeatedly, and quickly fixed it. So problem solved, but of course my paint chipped on day 2 for both. I will say that in some ways Nail Shadow still tops several other salons I've experienced, however I don't like to point out corrections to what I consider to be the obvious when it comes to a mani/pedi. Also since I had two different people, I can't say maybe the next time it'll be better. Looking at the odds, and I'd just rather move on now. Lastly, I rarely ask for the callus eliminator, but it wasn't until now while I was reviewing the brochure that I noticed it's part of the package. It wasn't done or offered. I had a truly awful experience here, and am quite annoyed I spent as much as I did. I got a pedicure and a full set of acrylics. First off, I really did not want acrylics, I wanted gel polish, but the person manning the desk talked me into acrylics. I told her I was trying to grow my nails out and wanted the least damage, and she somehow convinced me that acrylics would be best for that as you have to clip off gel and acrylics would protect my nail. I knew that sounded fishy, but stupidly went along with it. The manicure tech was very nice but cut me twice and there was nearly constant pain throughout the process. The pedicure tech barely did any massaging or anything, very bare bones 'clean and polish' type situation. As sweet as the manicure tech was, she did a terrible job making the nails look even on both hands. It wasn't until I got home I noticed how off they were from one another and even on the same hand the nails looked like they were pointing in opposite directions. On top of that, there were 2 nails that were at such a weird angle from the bed, I had multiple people independently ask if my nail was okay, if it was about to come out, etc. The icing on the cake was that 7 of my 10 acrylics had torn off within a single week. It only took 3 days to lose the first one, and after regluing multiple nails repeatedly, I stopped regluing them and removed the remaining thumbs and left pinky with acetone at home. Also, because 7 of the 10 came off on their own as opposed to removed the correct way, I have serious nail damage, splitting everywhere, thin, just awful. All this cost me 90 after tip.
