Fantastic dip manicure from Ares and upgraded pedicure from Van. I called ahead and they were able to fit me in the same day. The pedicure allowed me to select a scent and included a massage, scrub, lotions and hot towel wrap. I brought my laptop to wrap up some work at the end of the day and WiFi is available. Worst nail shop that I've ever been to. I asked for a French manicure and pedicure , the lady that did my services clearly didn't know how to do French tips. I had polish all over my toes and hands. I feel like she should've just said she didn't know how to do French tips instead of wasting my time playing on my hands and toes. My manicure wasn't even a manicure, i asked her do you guys use bowls of water to soak the hands she said yes. Then proceeded to pull out a plastic bag and just pour a whole bunch of cuticle softener in it and tell me to put my hands in it to soak. Oh yea not to mention the reuse toe separators on customers. I had never had dip powder nails before, but decided to try it out for an upcoming event. The staff were very friendly and as soon as we walked in the door we were greeted and asked what we needed. The place was large and clean with modern furniture. The dip was quick and my friend's pedicure was also speedy. The place was pretty busy but there were a lot of staff. I went at noon on a Friday. Went in for a manicure. The absolute dirtiest nail salon I have ever been in. The manager/ owner was out side on the phone. Suggested he go clean his salon. I see a few negative reviews. They are just not true. I've been going to this shop for over 20 years. Van is the owner and many of the nail techs have been here for years. I like to make an appt to lessen the wait times. They just got brand new sparkling pedicure chairs. They are very patient and kind to my 83 yo mom who has dementia. When you build a relationship with your service providers it tends to make you less negative, I guess. These people work 6 days a week, 9 hours a day. We are lucky to have them in our community. read more

I'm not from St. Pete, and I needed to get my nails done for my wedding. I was impressed with Nail Shop from the start. I called 3 different salons to get my wedding party and I appointments. The first two salons didn't even answer their phones or return my message. While the Nail Shop answered and was able to fit all 6 of us in next day! While at the Nail Shop, Michael did my fingernails and he did a fantastic job and was super nice and friendly! I also had my toenails done but sadly did not catch the technician's name. But, she too did a great job, she made me feel so relaxed. I almost fell asleep in the chair! Overall I loved going here and wish I could bring the salon back home. The worst pedicure in my life! (33 years of getting pedicures and working in and owning salons) The man was sniffling and coughing the whole time. Kept leaving to work on someone else. I couldn't wait for the massage part. He didn't even do it. I was so disappointed. My big toe was nipped and I had minor bleeding. I didn't speak up at the time because I haven't eaten yet and was getting hangry and probably would've blown up. So I left pissed off. Then a couple weeks later my big toe was sore when I was wearing closed shoes. I took off my polish and discovered my big toe nail ( the toe that got cut)has a FUNGUS... That was in February. It's now June 25th. I've been putting medicine on it and it's still bad. I would not step foot (ha) in that establishment again. Careful patrons. read more

This place is by far the best place in St. Pete. They care about what you want! Just tell them! They are very accommodating. Van is amazing! She did my nails, and noticided a discoloration in my nails, she pulled all my nails off, gave me a treatment and redid all of my entire set. She then did the foil acrylic because she had to trim my nails short to keep them healthy. She made the acrylic so thin and natural. She cared about what I wanted and my well being. This place is right near my current apartment so I go to get my eyebrows done. Honestly it's not great and quite inconsistent. I had one instance where the girl badly over plucked my brows and I had to fill them in for a month. They're nice but I won't be going back. I LOVE this nail shop, however they have very few people that still do fills (Michael is the BEST). I think there are only 2 techs that do acrylics, most are versed in the dip method and they have attempted to talk me into this technique several times. I tried the dip and prefer my acrylics which has caused great difficulty in getting an appointment simply because there are not enough people that do them. I've been going to this shop for about 6 months. The chairs at the shop are beyond worn out, but I'm not there for a massage chair. The ladies at this shop provide fabulous massages and pedicures. Two days ago got a new guy that gave me my pedi. Zero massage and the brush strokes on my toe polish could have been done better by my 4 year old granddaughter. My advice? Stick with the ladies. DON'T do your eyebrows here! I went to get my eyebrows done and she only waxed the bottom and that was it. When I asked her why she was done so quick I realized it was because she messed them up and couldn't fix them. Then she asked me if I wanted them fixed but there was NO way for her to fix them since she waxed them too much. Never again. read more

I went for a manicure at this shop because I was in the area and had some time to kill. There was no soaking my nails at all. They clipped and filed my nails, then had me put them in a plastic bag with some kind of lotion. Next, they pushed back and clipped my cuticles. They wiped my hands with a wet washcloth that was not even warm. Then the nail tech wiped off all of the implements with the same washcloth used to wipe my hands before putting them back in the plastic box at the station with all the other tools. Apparently there is no sterilization process. I did get a hand massage that was decent, but after washing my hands, the strangest part was sending me over to another nail tech to do the polish. She painted my nails right on top of her open appointment book. The only good thing I can say is that the staff there was nice. read more

I hardly ever write reviews but I was so dissatisfied, I had to. I went in for 1 nail repair. I had dip powder done about a week ago in another establishment. I fought my thumb on a door and the side ripped up so I had to get it fixed. They took me right away and then left me 3 times in the middle of the repair with no explanation. After the third time, the lady never came back. She walked over and started doing another manicure on someone that just walked in. Another girl came over to put the last clear coat on (all that was left to do). The whole process took 20 minutes, and wait until you see the work! It was the worst job ever! Went in for a pedicure and powder gel manicure. Pedicure was good and I had no issues with it. The manicure was probably one of the worst I've had. It's lumpy and uneven and has begun to peel after a week. They should last at least 2 weeks. Also the technician left residue all over my fingers and cut the skin around my cuticles when he attempted to make the nails smooth with the drill. They need to train their staff on how to give a powder gel manicure before offering it to the public and charging $40 for it. read more

My technician was obviously talking about me to her coworkers (as if it's not obvious when 5 people turn their heads and stop doing the service to their own clients). I came about 4 days ago and got a regular pedicure with regular polish and realized that my polish was already chipping. I came back and wanted a change and they tried to charge me 25 dollars just for gel polish(no soak, no extra anything). I would recommend this shop. I love that the polish was painted all the way up to but not touching the cuticle so that it'll last longer. Really interesting and effective that they used a stiff paint brush dipped in acetone to clean up the lines! There are 12 pedi chairs and about 8 mani stations.
