I am writing the worse review possible, but should be calling the police! I went in the day before my birthday to get a mani/pedi. Sarah told me it would be $30, which is the going rate so I agreed to it and a french polish for an additional $5. Once my pedi was done, I had an unexpected situation come up which required me to leave with an IOU for the manicure, which I didn't get at that point. I paid $35 with my debit card and left a $1 tip. I returned 30 minutes later and decided to get the solar nails which was only $7 more. The guy that did my nails did such a great job, I tipped him $3. So, Sarah charged $10 the second time, which equaled $46 for both the solar nails and pedicure with french polish. Well, a few days later, I checked my bank statement to find she charged me $41 the first time (which was not on my receipt I signed) and $10 the second time...a total of $51. I went in to ask her about the mis charge and Sarah defensively snapped on me saying that the mani/pedi was $35 and the french was an additional $5. This is not what I agreed to however or signed for initially on the debit card receipt! I went to communicate that to her and she looked up the receipts. After finding the receipts she kept looking at them but never showed them to me because I believe the truth was that the amount was NOT what she ended up charging me and thus she stole $5 from me! After much grief, she agreed to give me the $5 in cash, however, she made it clear that she never wanted me back in her salon again after I said if this is the service delivered I can go somewhere else. I was really excited to make this salon the place I frequent and bring my friends/family to, but now I am forced to go elsewhere due to the WORST customer service and most of all FRAUD. I am writing this post to warn others to check their bank statements because I'm sure I'm not the only one that she has changed the dollar values on. read more

First time at nail spa by Sarah. It was a terrible experience. My appointment was at 3:00. When I walked in at 3, I asked the front desk girl how long shellac would take since I was on a time crunch.She said about 20 minutes. I was thinking I'd be out at the latest by 3:40. They had me pick my color and I waited. A lady walks in 5 minutes later saying her appointment is at 3:15. Sarah tells her to take a seat at the table to get her nails done. I sat and waited for THIRTY MINUTES!! Even though I had an appointment. I ended up leaving the salon at 3:35 without getting any nails done at all! I was very upset and all Sarah said was, "Oh, sorry. I didn't realize you had an appointment until 15 minutes ago. In this industry, sometimes things don't line up with the business and the customers." What???! You made me wait for 30 minutes and let another person who had a later appointment go ahead of me! I lived in several locations in the US and I often nail salons lack the following qualities: personalized customer service, relaxing atmosphere, and quality nail treatment Nail Spa by Sarah has all of these qualities. First, Sarah is a lively lady who wants you to relax and live to be pampered. Second, Sarah only has 3 chairs for treatment. This means she wants to give you individualized attention. She wants to connect with you, gain your trust beside your business, and of course have you looking like a queen. Third, the service is excellent. My mani-pedi included a full massage to my feet, legs, hands, and arms. Sarah and Ann accept instruction and gladly answer questions. (I never provide instructions-they are the experts and often give me knowledge to strengthen my nails and care for my feet!). I find that ladies and gents come to Sarah due to the neglect, poor service and awful mistakes made by other "so-called" nail salons. The Good: I received a high quality Shellac manicure. Sarah carefully removed my existing polish, buffed to ensure no nail breakage and carefully filed and clipped my cuticles using tools that were unwrapped in front of me assuring cleanliness. As usual, I also received a hand massage at the end. The furniture is high quality and comfortable. The spa pedicure chairs looks amazing. The shop is clean which is hard to do with so much dust. There are no TVs...for me this is a plus and the radio playing in the rear of the shop is not annoying. The Bad: I went in on a $20 groupon (1/2 price manicure) which is a great deal but not unusual to find on groupon and I got in on the same day of purchase (which is unusual). When I got there, Sarah told me it would cost $5 to take off my existing shellac polish and asked if it was ok. I told her I really didn't have a choice. She further explained that they consider a polish removal "an upgrade" as listed on groupon but they do not charge for polish removal if you are paying the $40 full price. OK? It's deceptive and that is what upset me is that I wasn't told prior to buying but all in all I got over it and considered it my tip...even though if I had known prior to going in, I would have tipped an additional $5 on top. I just didn't like feeling taken advantage of. Sarah explained that the $5 is to cover the additional labor of taking off Shelac polish...I get it and told her that she needs to be forthright with that cost on the Groupon website and she told me it was too late and I told her then for next time and she told me there wouldn't be a next time for a long time. My point is tell customers what they are in for before they walk in the door. Who would expect polish removal is an upgrade service??? The Better: After I cooled off a bit, I engaged Sarah in a conversation. She is extremely friendly and chatty. She told me "she went rogue" 6 months ago, quit her job to work for herself and I totally respect that. She explained it took 2 months to open and she's been open 4 months. I had an appointment at nail spa by Sarah to get a gel mani and pedi done for my prom. The salon was clean and nice, but a bit small. The pedi was good, except the guy nicked me a couple times- but it happens so I wasn't mad. I then asked if I could get a set of acrylic nails if it wasn't too much of a hassle for them. They said yes without an issue, even though it would push things back. After the pedi, Hannah began doing my acrylics using the dip technique. This is when things started to go bad. She had a hard time finding tips that fit my nails, and some of them still don't fit quite right. When I told her how long I wanted them she said it was too long and cut them to her preferred length. She got acrylic all over the sides of my fingers which she had to pick and drill off later on. They were very bumpy before she drilled them, but even afterwards they were still uneven and lumpy. On 3 of my nails there is a gap between the tip and my nail, which could cause problems as it lets water sit in side.I also got coffin shaped nails, and they're all very crooked. I would have gotten them off then and there but I had prom in a few hours. read more

I made appointment with Sarah and it was her first appointment of the day. I was on a time schedule and she was late, so I had to reschedule the appointment which was a disappointment. If a business open at 10 then I expect it to be open at 10, not 10:30. I've been there before first appointment and she was slightly late also, but not too late. I went to Sarah almost a month ago! She talked me out of getting the dip and into getting a gel manicure. This picture is almost four weeks later. I have had gel before and it never lasted longer than two weeks before it chipped. She said it all matters on how much effort is put into applying it. I have absolutely no chips. Sarah then took the entire time (20 minutes) it took to put the full set of Pink ONLY solar nails, to tell me that she had to advertise on Groupon to get customers, NOBODY sells solar nails for $17, and that she has to give 50% to Groupon and that she is running the $17 Pink ONLY Solar Special all summer long. Sarah continued to REPEAT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN...DO NOT BUY GROUPON. The WORST PART...MY SOLAR NAILS ARE LIFTING IN LESS THAN 24 HRS. I don't get my nails done regularly. The reason is that in the past I wasn't impressed at all with the level of quality. I would leave disappointed and not want to go back. Since going to Nail Spa by Sarah I have a totally different take on nails. Sarah is by far the best, most professional, cute, caring manicurist I've met. She is just a lovely person. I absolutely LOVED this salon so I decided to purchase gift certificates for my friends. I purchased two gift certificates and today I have learned that neither has been able to get their pedicures! I purchased these gift certificates when Sarah first opened her shop and each of my friends has been told every time each has tried to make an appointment that they are told the spa is too busy. This is unacceptable! One of my friends has been in face to face 4 times! The other has given up. I am embarrassed and appalled. I will never EVER go to this salon again. I went with a groupon along with two others for solar nails. The other girls had shellac manicures. The nails came out really bad. Sarah rushed so much that many of the nails were crooked and uneven. Many of the tips are not covered to the end so you can see uneven layers in them. One of the nails is already separating from the tip (something she actually said in the beginning was common problem with cheaply done nails...yet here I am with this issue walking out the door). Beware of the "upgrades" you have to pay like polish removal and French style or pink and whites. They actually want 15.00 for pink and whites in addition to the groupon price making the pink and whites pretty much the price you can expect anywhere or higher. The girls shellac manicures were done by another lady and were much better than what I had done. I was going to have a pedicure too but after the job done on my nails I was out of there. Hopefully the 700 others that bought the groupon will have a better experience than I did. read more

I saw this unbelievable Groupon while I was in town for a wedding I was the maid of honor in. The bride insisted we get our nails done (solar and pedi) so I purchased and made a same day appointment. First of all, I really like the appointment idea (Sarah is appt ONLY). It was wonderful to go in and not wait on a tech to begin and extend my visit an extra 30 min to an hour. I was a little early to my appointment too and the woman scheduled before me was 30 minutes late and Sarah went ahead and started on mine instead of pushing the appointments back. Sarah did my nails herself and she is the FIRST person to not make my nail beds bleed or cut my skin! She was very gentile and enthusiastic to provide the best customer service. I had a spray tan done for the wedding and could not have lotion on them or get them wet and Sarah was very careful to do my pedi without messing my tan up. Haley the front desk offered me a water to drink while I was getting my nails done too and hung my dress up that I brought in to match my polish. She even went and found the perfect polish for me while Sarah did my solar! I was very impressed with the service I got, sometimes when you bring in a coupon-deal some places are less than 100% service but not this one, at least not with me! Reading the other negative reviews... some people just need to realize they are not princesses (sorry if that was mean) and a $1 tip is embarrassing, never publicly brag about that!!! (--and you must have added wrong because a solar AND a pedi is not $40 anywhere!) I would recommend Sarah to anyone and want her salon to do well, but if you are going to tip $1 on any service, shame on you. I am in the service industry and I am verrrry critical about customer service, I have no complaints about this salon at all. Job well done! Last but not least, it is almost a week after I got my nails done and I have continued to get compliments on them. I love Sarah and her team! I have been waiting for a great nail salon close to my home for years and now I have it. I use to travel all the way to the Cooper Spa for my manicures/pedicures which was just too far and expensive. After lunch at Wonderful World of Cooking next door, I go every week for a manicure and pedicure once a month. The techs at this salon are professional, clean and aim to please. The prices are extremely reasonable. I have no trouble communicating with them at all. I hope more people will try this salon and keep Sarah in business for a long time! read more
