Since securing a job for next year (score!) I've been meaning to reward myself for all the work I put into applying and interviewing. I definitely neglected my fingernails and toenails during that whole process, so I figured there would be no better way to celebrate than pampering myself at a nail salon. (Plus, I have a wedding coming up this weekend. The stars aligned!) After some Yelp searching, I decided Nail Studios would be the best option based on a high rating and close proximity to home. I called to make an appointment for today at 1. After arriving, I was directed to the back to select nail polishes. I spent about 10 minutes deciding because I was looking for specific Essie and O.P.I. shades. They didn't have the specific ones I wanted (Ballet Slippers and Dutch Tulip, respectively), but an employee was very helpful in helping me find great alternative colors that were similar enough based on the pictures I showed him. He also offered me a drink, which was very hospitable of him. Next, he directed me to the pedicure chair, which was SO comfy and I enjoyed its relaxing massaging abilities while I received the full pedicure treatment (including foot and calf massaging). My nail tech then directed me to a chair for my manicure, which was also the full treatment. She spoke in Vietnamese to another coworker most of the time, which I didn't mind at all because she did an excellent job on both the mani and pedi, paying attention to detail. I was content to use my phone and watch the TV as she worked on my nails. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after she finished! My only slight complaint is that she didn't paint all the way to my cuticles on four of my fingernails. It's not too big of a deal to me because the manicure was still way better than other manicures that were more expensive at "fancier" places in Oak Brook. Also, as far as I know, maybe manicures don't generally cover the entire nail (I'm obviously not the nail tech here; I'll leave that to the pros!).This was definitely one of the best manicures I've ever gotten, especially for the price! I will absolutely come back here for all my mani/pedi needs in the future, and I will also recommend it to friends and family. You really can't beat a $35 mani/pedi here (also, if you check in on Yelp, you can get a $5 off deal for anything that costs more than $35). read more

This is my favorite nail salon. I went with my sister in law in on 6/17/16. I loveddddd my nails perfect shape and color. But hers the acrylic on the top is cracking because of lack of acrylic already and it's only been two days. You can tell not enough acrylic was put on the top portion of the nails. I came here for my first time with hopes of having a good experience like everyone else that has reviewed this place and to get a fill in and they are literally PERFECT!!!! I am so picky about my nails, especially when it comes to getting acrylics. My nails look natural, not clunky at all, and not too thin that they'll break. I have been to countless salons where you can just tell they don't know what they're doing or I always end up having to file the nails down later myself. My technician, Kathy, was amaaaazing!!! She took time to make sure every nail was in proportion of each other. Like every nail is so perfectly even...lol really. She was so good..just wow. I visited this place as I was looking for a new salon and this place had great reviews and I would just love to add to them. The whole time I was there was relaxing, from asking if I wanted a water or coffee, to getting the massage on my chair all set up--I'll be back soon! I was even in a bit of a rush that I failed to mention to the staff, and they mentioned how if I need an "express" they could do that for me next time as well, but if they chipped or smudged to come back and get them fixed. I have been in the salon 3 times, first visit I got pedi, second a full set, third mani-pedi. Each time service was great and my nails/feet were fine for long enough. Only once I had to wait for about 30 mins to be taken care of, even though I had appointment. But other times there was no delay at all. Overall, great experience that I can recommend. read more

I went to get a no-chip manicure today after reading some of the great reviews. I was greeted upon arrival and asked if I would like water, tea, etc. I picked out my color and one of the employees asked if I would like to watch anything on TV in particular. I didn't, but it was nice to be asked! Kim H. did my manicure, and she is the best manicurist I've ever had. I have been to multiple higher-end salons in Oak Brook and such, but this was the best no-chip ever! Kim has an amazing attention to detail and my nails and cuticles have never looked better. I don't know about y'all but when it comes to nail places, I'm always skeptical. My go to nail place was closed today (Sunday) so I opted for the nail salon close to my home, Nail Studios. Let me tell you...I was impressed! The sweet lady (forgot her name) with glasses did a fantastic job on my nails. She took her time and was very personable. A man (what's looks like the manager perhaps?) came out from the back and offered everyone hot tea or coffee (very nice). Pricing was great too. I used the $5 off $35 or more coupon found in their Yelp page. Lady gave me no problem using the coupon. I will definitely be back! read more

First time coming here and very disappointed with the nail tech. She shouldn't be a nail tech. She doesn't know what she's doing. She does a horrible job doing nails. I asked for stiletto Nails and she did almond shape! And I kept telling her no almond shape and I even showed her a picture before but she kept doing it!!!!! These are short nails for stiletto shape. And they still want to charge you close to $45 for it! Never again. I left with an unfinished job and still charged me $28! I had to shape them myself because she didn't know how too. And burned me with the little machine while trying to clean it. Horrible!!!! I'm somewhat of a regular here, and was disappointed in this last experience. First off when the wifi wasn't showing up, so I asked an employee and she just shrugged and said "I don't know", however I had work that needed to be done, which I expressed to her. So, I asked for the wifi that the salon uses and she said she didn't know that the boss wasn't there, I asked if she could reach out to him and she said ok 5 minutes. And nothing never got the wifi. The pedicure was good. I got a dip manicure with some tips added. The woman left the ends rigid and not smoothed out. When I asked her to even the length and shape on all of the nails to match she sighed and was visibly frustrated. There's also a hair that she kept dipping over on my thumb, which normally wouldn't be a big deal had it not been a translucent white polish. ‍ maybe it's time for a new nail salon of choice. read more

Oh man, what to say? I had an amazing experience here and will be back for any future Mani/Pedi needs. I had contacted Nail Studios in hopes of getting a quick Shellac nail change and pedicure as I was leaving for a trip the next day. The owner, Vy, was incredibly prompt in getting back to me and making sure they could fit me in for exactly what I needed. That aside, the Gel Manicure was truly one of the best I've ever had. I have been struggling to find a decent nail place that consistently does good work. I decided to try nail studios because of the good reviews. Upon arrival I was greeted at the door by a woman with a terrible attitude. While we were doing my gel no chip manicure she did not remove all of the dark blue gel no chip polish previously on my nails and clearly saw multiple spots on multiple different nails where the dark blue was prevalent. She did two coats on my nails where the dark blue was clearly showing through the current nail color. I thought she was going to do a third coat i then was proven wrong when she went to apply top coat to my entire hand. I asked her if she could do another coat because the previous color was obviously showing though. I was going to this place for a long time, pretty much since they have opened. The management is great, the quality of work has slipped. The last three times I had problems. The first time mani and pedi- horrible job the manager actually came over and noticed and had them redo it. Second time got acrylics horrible shape and very thick. Third time no chip and a mani the no chip chipped in three days and the pedi chipped the next day (NEVER HAPPENS). I also really hate the fact they have such a small supply of Essie and OPI and are using some other brand i have never heard of. That may be the culprit in the pedi not lasting. I came here because I read a lot of good reviews about this salon. I got seated right away on a Saturday which was great. I wanted to get a full set done and wanted to get French ombré for the color. The nail tech didn't know what French ombré was so I showed her a picture but I could tell she never did it before so then I decided I'll just get a regular color. It was the worst full set I ever had done. It was super thick and only lasted a week. After a week the nails at the root were not glued to my real nail and it was painful. I had to go to another salon to get them taken off. Would not recommend this place. read more
