I honestly won't be back. I'm so sick of nail salons nowadays it's like the quality just isn't there no matter where I go. I always get a full set, so my nails should look fresh everytime. My nails just don't have that fresh look after like day 3 and I'm over it. This was my first time at this place and i had a flight to catch that day so i left here and went about my day. Later that day i realized on a few of my nails the acrylic wasn't brought all the way to the edge of my nails. It's not even 7 days later and i already look like I need a fill. This is not normal!!! And it seems like everywhere I go I run into this. I'm so sick of spending over $100 on wack nails that don't even last!!! I had a gentleman do my manicure and let me tell you, even though one of my nails broke - he did such a great job!! He was so thoughtful and fixed not just the one but THREE of my nails and did a nail take off and even gave me an awesome hand massage- sooo sweet. I'll definitely be back! I had no negative experience! My only star down is that they have been there a while so the place could do a little refresh but that's about it :) Go check them out! read more

Staff is friendly but I'm not sure if my technician was qualified and the value for money is not there...just went in to get mani pedis with my mom, I got sns on my fingernails and gel on my toes while my mom got regular polish (upgraded her pedicure though) and sns on her fingers. Services came to $280 ... The young guy doing my nails did not seem confident in what he was doing at all--cut me multiple times--wish I had asked to see his certification. The service I received today was subpar but the atmosphere at this salon was absolutely terrible. The employees were in a screaming match for a solid 20 minutes. I was waiting for someone to start physically fighting. It took away from any relaxation I was looking for today. For $60+, I got my toes painted and lotion rubbed in on my arms and legs. Did a walk-in for a gel manicure, was only $38 and the nail tech was super quick and friendly. She helped me pick out the nail color and made sure I thought it looked good on my pinky before finishing the set. The place itself is calming and nice, they played some gentle piano music and there's no super strong chemical smell like other salons. This Nail Talk and Tan is located in Town Brookhaven across from Marshall's. I stopped by on a Friday evening with a friend. We made reservations for 2 which they started promptly and sat us by each other. It wasn't very busy so reservations were probably not necessary. The salon is very clean, looks up to date, and had new everything. I especially loved the massage chairs that were new and awesome. They also recline! I had a gel manicure($30) and regular pedicure($25). Both were average about 3 stars. The technicians weren't particularly into attention to detail but got the job done. There was also a lot of upselling but that's par for the course. Parking is easy in the plaza. read more

Please take your business elsewhere. I stopped coming to this salon years ago because I thought the manager and workers were rude. I returned because of the convenience of the location and their extended hours. That was a mistake. The quality of service is poor. I came here for SNS and my nails cracked and chipped after 2 days . I returned to the salon and asked for a refund. They refused. They then had me wait 30 minutes before their worker started to redo my SNS. He took the first set off completely and applied a new SNS application. I even choose a different color in case the previous powder was faulty. This second application started to chip and crack the following day. It's so bad that it's causing my natural nails to break underneath. I'm going to have to cut all my natural nails and start over. read more

Came here for the first time on Sunday for SNS and a pedi. The interior is very impressive, you can tell they spent some coins on design for sure. A ton of stations and ladies working, however there was still a 15 minute wait as a walk in. Overall the experience was great I started off in a chair while they waited for a pedi station to open up. The ladies were super nice. Only downside is the lady doing my pedi was very rough and dug too deep into my toenail cuticle. As predicted, I got a minor infection with pain under my nail that has lasted for the rest of the week. Not too happy with my pedicure look overall, it doesn't look professional. Disappointed with my visit here. Workers were pushy and disrespectful. I told the woman working on my nails I wanted dipping powder and picked out the color which was a very light purple/pink. She was pushing me to do SNS but they didn't have the same color other than a dark purple which I didnt want. As my nails are being done I notice she applies the different color even when I ask her if this is different from what I chose and she kept pushing it wasn't... it was. Worst nail experience I've ever had... I came here to get an SNS manicure and 6 nails were chipped within the first 2 days which has never happened before. I called and made another appointment to get them fixed but still waited 40 minutes before being helped. 6 people came in after me and were all helped before I was. 4/15/19 I am updating my original review. I was charged an extra $5 today because I got my SNS (which I had, and always have done at THIS salon) changed. I went back in a few hours later because I was sure it was an error that they charged me an extra $5. They were very nasty and the man who sits in front raised his voice at me, insisting I've always paid the extra $5 for removal including the last time when he claimed he did my nails and charged me. The catch is that he's never done my nails before! It doesn't make any sense that a salon would charge extra for having your SNS soaked off and done again at the SAME SALON. You're essentially penalizing your customers for coming back! There are a TON of salons in the area so I'm happy to move on to another where they're less rude, more consistent, and don't have hidden fees. ------------ This location is better than other Nail Talks I've tried, but it inconsistent at best. I dislike that unlike other nail salons, they do not offer you water or soda (they have it available and really should offer; especially when you sit down for a pedicure which can be an hour + service). I also dislike that they're frequently over-staffed and frequently the extra staff sit and watch loud videos or listen to loud music on their phones, which is distracting and does not make for a relaxing environment at all. On the flip side, having too many employees there means you rarely have to wait when you walk in without an appointment. They recently replaced their pedicure chairs so it's nice that they're new, but the massage function doesn't offer options; it's just on or off. I recently had to go back because 2 days after a gel polish change they were peeling off because they were painted too close to the cuticle, not all the way to the edge of either side on almost all nails, and too thick. The woman at the front was apologetic and didn't make me feel bad about coming back to have them redone, but the actual woman who did them the first time kept insisting it was because I didn't do a full manicure -- which is untrue because I've been getting gel for years and always alternate between getting a change and a full manicure without this issue; not to mention, if doing "just" a gel change without manicure is going to cause peeling, they shouldn't offer the service. I've had two additional not so great SNS and gel services there -- both by (different) men who cut me because they were rushing. That said, I've also had a couple of great pedicures and manicures so, again, it's hit or miss. I plan to continue visiting this location because it's close to where I live, clean, and offers lots of options as far as colors and services are concerned. I hate to be writing this as this used to be my favorite nail place EVER but the last few times I have gone have just been so disappointing. I got my toes done YESTERDAY, paint job looks great but absolutely no scrubbing at all? I still have full blown calluses on my toes and I even got a deluxe pedi? Worst manicure experience. I think my technician's name was Tammy. She tried to remove my SNS by using an acrylic nail to chip off the SNS. It was painful and ineffective. Finally used acetone to remove it properly. Cut my cuticles too deep that I bled. Did an extremely poor, uneven, and sloppy job with the polish. I removed it as soon as I got home. All the while, spoke negatively about me in Vietnamese (which is actually my native language). Will not be returning. There are much better nail salons in the area. read more

I went to this salon because it was right next to my massage place. I was getting tips and one color of SNS. First, I am not normally charged extra to remove current SNS but that was not too big of a deal. The manager brought me back and soaked my nails then started applying the tips. It was obvious that they were too wide and she would file the bottom portion before gluing them on. It made me nervous but I figured she was the expert. Another lady was watching her do it. After she glued the long tips, she passed me to the woman who was watching. I asked her to make them natural looking and she took out small scissors instead of the clips I'm used to seeing. They were pretty uneven and we went back and forth about it. She then did my SNS and it was clearly bumpy and way too thick. She kept filing and dipping and filing and dipping. I told her a few nails were too wide (they looked like fans) and she blamed the other woman for giving me tips that were too wide and said she was trying to make it work. Then as she was filing the overly thick, uneven SNS, the first woman came over and told her that it was too thick and they started going back and forth. I am still not happy with the results and it was a super stressful experience. I have never had to keep correcting a nail tech and asking her to fix things. She did end up saying if I don't like it, I can come back. But I don't even want to take that chance again. I was really disappointed because it was a nice salon in a convenient location. read more

I've always had a great experience here, and I'm surprised to see poor reviews, however most of these appear to be a bit old. I have been going here for the past 2 years and have never had any issues. I am always promptly greeted and tended to with smiles. I like their pedicure chairs, which they recently upgraded. I feel like the techs are always thorough and detail-oriented. I usually get gel and manicures and the sugar scrub pedicure. I love that this place uses the metal rasps for callous removal. It's so hard to find places that provide this service anymore, and boy do I need it. My nails and toes always last so long. They offer free neck massages with their services as well, which is always so welcome. This place has been kind enough to take me in as a customer when I accidentally walked in one time as they were closing. I apologized and said I didn't realize the time and I would come back tomorrow. They graciously and enthusiastically waved me in and said no problem, we can take care of you right now. They did not skimp on the massages or try to rush me out in any way. I feel like the place is clean, everyone is nice, and they accept all forms of payment. I am moving across town soon and will be sad they won't be close to me anymore, although I could see myself making the trip out here because I love this place so much! read more

I have been coming to this salon since I moved to Atlanta in 2014. I moved away from Brookhaven to Smyrna three years ago and after trying many other nail salons, I ended up coming back here. It's worth the 30 minute drive each way. I never have to wait when I've made an appointment. Vickie does a fantastic job with my nails and Jessica is my go-to for pedicures. I love pedicures. I get them as often as possible. I have a broken toe right now. Very, very (is another very overkill?) hesitantly I went for toe care today; this NTAT is right near me in Town Brookhaven. I haven't spent $25 (plus tip) so well since I found a pair of unworn black Coach boots at a thrift store in Charleston. I am still marveling at the extreme tenderness Lin took with my right second toe. It didn't hurt even for a second, even when she trimmed that toe's cuticles, she was so gentle. And it looks just as pretty as my other nine. I love her. They have a big selection of OPI etc, good spa chairs, different types of manis and pedis, blah blah blah. But the care taken is why Lin, and this particular store, have my allegiance. I don't even care that they only take tips in cash. read more

I genuinely don't know how this place has such low ratings. It is by far and away the best nail salon I have ever been to. I have a great experience every time I come here. I'm from out of town, but my best friend lives right down the road. So, whenever I'm in town visiting, we come here to get our nails done. Today, on this occasion, I got Tom to do a gel mani. Not only did he do an incredible job and take his time, but I also got a wonderful neck, shoulder, and upper back massage that lasted for about 10 minutes after he was done with my nails. Plus an arm and hand massage that lasted about 7 minutes on top of that. There has never been a wait each time I have come here. They were all super friendly to me. My gel mani was $30! I go here only because I live in Brookhaven..but I think its time to find a new nail salon. To be totally honest I pay too much money here each month to get horrible customer service. I recently started getting SNS nails, which I love getting instead of the gel powder. So the first time I got them, I paid only $35.00 which is the cost to get them on and does not include a manicure. I went there again on Friday to get a new set and the added fees are ridiculous, I paid an extra $5.00 to get the original color off and another $5.00 to get an almond shape (that I previously had). I asked the guy why am I paying $45.00 for SNS, he stated because of removal and shape. I asked where is the shape fee on the menu?? NO where to be found....I than asked to speak with a manager. She was kind enough to give me a $5.00 coupon towards my next visit, but rolled her eyes during the entire process and still expected me to tip the guy for his service (which I did). Though don't waste your time and money here...they don't like it when you only get a basic manicure and pedicure. And they don't like it when you ask about the cost. Apparently its a waste of their time. I got a pedicure also..and she RUSHED the entire process...mind you, a pedicure there is $25.00 which is a lot including if you decide to tip.
