LOVE THIS PLACE!! We joked we want to start flying in to get our nails done here and I'm super super picky about my nails. We're in Hermosa on vacation and my Mom and I needed our nails done. I saw this place in the distance when walking on the Strand and pulled it up on Yelp of course, to find it had pretty good reviews but more importantly I liked their work! We make an appointment on a Saturday, super friendly and easy on the phone to make an appointment. We come in same day that afternoon and were helped right away. They went above and beyond to accommodate us, my mom has a scooter and we had a dog with us, all of which was no problem. They offered us COMPLIMENTARY drinks including fancy cocktails so we had Aperol Spritz's which were DELICIOUS. Same time mani pedi which is my fav set up for time efficiency. They did a fantastic job removing old acrylics and kept my natural nails strong and healthy so I could get build Gel on my natural nails! I opted for a Ombré French with chrome but they seem very knowledgeable and comfortable with many various designs I showed them. My mom got exactly what she wanted and they were so patient with her discussing all of the different colors and French options with her. Everyone's energy was so sweet and fun and the service was amazing. The shop is also super clean and the massage chairs are amazing. A truly pampering experience. read more

Wow!! I needed a pedicure, and I'm glad I found such a great place to go. Very personable and friendly staff. Kristy was fantastic and took such great care in the pedicure she gave me. I got the All-Natural Collagen Pedicure, and it was very relaxing throughout. I was shocked when I was presented with a complimentary drink menu that included champagne and other mixed drinks, not just water and soda! I stuck with flavored seltzer, but it is certainly very appreciated and not expected. I had called earlier in the day to make an appointment, as I wasn't sure how crowded it would be. Called around 3:15pm on a Saturday for a walk-in due to another salon's system mess up. They said I could come in right away. Was seated quickly and showed the nail tech my inspo and he got right to work! I had initially wanted chrome but he showed me what the cat eye looked like without chrome and i was instantly sold. I'm very disappointed with how my recent experience was handled. I made an appointment two days in advance for both a gel manicure and pedicure and specifically requested Nancy and Alex. I even called the same day before arriving to confirm everything was on schedule, and I was asked to come in earlier, which I did. When I arrived, neither technician was ready, which was already frustrating after adjusting my schedule to accommodate them. Someone else started my pedicure instead of Nancy, and unfortunately the service was rough and uncomfortable. I politely asked if Nancy could take over since that was who I had booked with, and thankfully she did. However, while I was getting my pedicure done, no one was working on my manicure. Alex finished with another client and immediately took someone else, even though my appointment had been scheduled for 1:00 PM and I had already been waiting over 30 minutes. When I reminded her that I had an appointment with her, I was essentially brushed off and told she had another client waiting. Another technician ended up doing my gel manicure, and unfortunately the quality was extremely poor. Within five days, the gel manicure was already chipping badly, my cuticles were cut up and irritated, and the overall work looked rushed and unprofessional. I sent photos immediately and was told they would gladly fix it. A few days later, when I happened to be nearby, I stopped in and showed them my nails in person. At first I was told they could fix them right away, but after waiting, I was suddenly told they would not honor it because I had not returned that specific weekend. This made no sense considering I had already sent clear photos immediately after the appointment showing the poor workmanship. At that point, they removed the damaged gel, which left my natural nails extremely weak and broken. I had spent a long time growing my nails out, and now they are completely damaged down to the skin. The most disappointing part was the lack of follow-through from management. The manager later texted apologizing and told me to contact her directly so she could "take care of me." I called multiple times. Each time I was told she would call me back, and she never did. I paid around $150 for services that were poorly executed and handled even worse afterward. Mistakes happen, but professionalism is shown in how a business resolves them. Unfortunately, this salon failed completely in communication, scheduling, accountability, and customer service. read more

I wouldn't come back here again, not unless you're okay with an employee talking about you in another language because they think you can't understand it. The lady that did my pedicure service did a good job and she was very kind, but my problem lies with who I can only assume is the owner. An employee came up to me, having complimented my gel set, looked at nails, and walked away talking crap in Vietnamese. I understood everything she said because I speak the language, and I'm aware I don't look like it. I was upset because it wasn't simply just "it's ugly," she had a whole discussion with another employee about it. Before I continue, I know chances are, the owner may respond to this stating that it's "freedom of speech and I can comment as a professional." Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion, and this is mine on my experience and how I think an owner should treat their business. I texted the phone number listed on their website and instagram, to give my complaint. By the response and how they doubled down aggressively when I called them out on it, I take it that it was the owner that made unpleasant remarks about my nails. She completely missed the point that my complaint is that this person is not professional in how they conduct business and respect for their customers. You don't have to compliment everyone and lie, but what rubs me wrong is she lied to my face in English and turned away, saying something completely different in another language because she thought it was safe. And then she gets defensive via text, saying I don't like honesty. You wouldn't come up to someone and say their nails are ugly, to their face in English. You also wouldn't say that to the face of another Vietnamese customer. You're defensive because you were caught being rude in a different language you thought I wouldn't understand. Go talk shit in the breakroom, not in front of other paying customers. This isn't about honesty. This is about being professional and creating a welcoming environment to your customers. ** note: the employee that did my pedicure was very aware of what this meant for salon vibes once she learned I understood what the other lady said. It's one thing to get ONE great pedicure, but in the course of two days, FOUR of my family visited this place and not once, not twice, but FOUR TIMES by FOUR DIFFERENT nail techs we received phenomenal service! I had the gel pedicure as did my sister. My husband had THE WORKS pedicure (oh, he had all the bells and whistles they had to offer from a foot soak to a leg massage) and my best friend also had the gel pedicure. Between the 4 of us, we also got 1 manicure (male); and 2 acrylic fills with gel polish. And the professional demeanor of the nail techs was top notch. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon in my life. There was a misunderstanding between me and the lady who was doing my pedicure because she doesn't speak English, so the girl doing my nails translated for me and her. I asked for an extra foot massage before we started. I stopped her halfway through because it wasn't good. But I was polite and thanked her. When I asked how much time there was the girl doing my nails translated and said 6 minutes. I was asking how long she did the massage already for so I could tell her to stop since my nails were finished. When it was time to pay and I got charged for the extra 10 minute massage that I didn't receive, I asked why and said I didn't receive the extra 10 minutes and that 4 minutes is included in the pedicure. So then the manager comes over because there was such a confusion with the girl who did the pedicure because she's not speaking English. So instead of the manager trying to help me understand what actually happened, she yelled at me "DONT WORRY HUNNY WE DONT NEED TO STEAL EXTRA 5 DOLLARS FROM YOU" and walked away. I was being quiet at the register when I was asking questions. I wasn't rude. But any customer who gets a service deserves to know pricing and has the right to ask questions about it. The way the manager handled the situation was the most unprofessional and tactless thing I've ever experienced from a business. To make the situation even worse, management texted me the next morning. I thought it would be to apologize, but instead it was to continue the disrespect and to harass me. They kept texting me being rude and repeating the same thing they said to me the day before and even trying to bully me saying everyone in the salon was laughing when manager spoke to me the way she did. I don't understand how businesses like this are even open. A nail salon is supposed to be where you go to relax and feel good about yourself and this place went out of their way to do the opposite. I just relocated here from the fires and have been looking for new nail salons. It's really sad to say this was my experience and I hope no one takes the chance of being treated so badly by this business who operates under management that will make you feel horrible in the salon and even worse when you're home the next day. read more

I have been going here for about a year and the service is stellar. Always get greeted quickly and offered a beverage. I am s big fan of the hybrid gel and it's no chip or break longevity. Also a huge fan of Von who has excellent design skills. Today I had Jack fix a nail I was somehow able to chip after a week (still not sure how that happened) but not only did he fix it perfectly but also checked my other fingers and make sure they look just as good as the fixed one with no charge. I legit want to cry at how my nails came out. I asked for white and they are clear. Plus the lady never asked how short. She just went at it. I never get dip so I wasn't sure how the process was. But after a second layer, I noticed the "white" was still clear so I asked if it was the correct color. She confirmed so I said "okay" as I understand I asked for that color. But once outside, that light white is absolutely clear. You can't even tell I got them done. And when I asked how soon I could get them changed out, the main lady was completely rude and said I asked for that. I honestly don't know how soon I have to wait for dip. But she said it's my fault for not speaking up sooner. Even though I didn't know that the first layer is what the final color looks like. Normally, with normal polish, the color gets deeper with each layer so I assumed it would get better. And they obviously didn't explain that dip doesn't do that. Either way. I hate them and I want to cry because I needed white nails for a special occasion. And they weren't willing to help or even be kind. read more

Two days ago (3/19) I received a text with a 10 percent discount because I hadn't been back to Nailbay in two months. I couldn't remember why I hadn't been back after my initial time, so I immediately scheduled an appointment for the same day since I was in town. I last got my nails done in dip 20 days prior (2/28) in a different city. When I got to the salon they kept commenting about how thick the dip was on my nails. Two different people aided in helping get my old dip off and then Win was finally the one to do my dip manicure. He was super nice and friendly and my nails looked gorgeous when I left. However within 24 hours I had a chip on one nail. I then remembered why I hadn't been back to Nailbay, because my nails didn't even last a day, which is not a thing with dip usually. Anyways, within 48 hours, 6 of my nails have chips and one is cracked. Super disappointed. UPDATE: I went back in and got the dip removed. They were super nice and offered to redo it but my nails were so brittle I had to cut them all. They did a simple manicure over them after convincing me and gave me credit for next time. read more
